Definitely don't bring your business here unless you want to endure poor communication, poor Customer service and price gouging and dishonest business practice . Long Time Customer vehicle came in for Tire rotation asked them to take a look at the brakes and also do a oil change change a light bulb no issues just standard stuff. Was quoted $500 dollars to change 2 light bulbs also told brake inspection is not free and is fee 8-10$. Also needed windshield wipers they were bad I just replaced them last week . The responded " Oh we seen smears". No quote in hand or emailed to us . Called the shop to discuss was on hold for 10 minutes only to be told " I'm not the one working on the car" Upon pickup of the vehicle they put the wrong oil in the vehicle Gentleman at the counter said its fine " we know what we are doing here" . That's not what we discussed. Was told the breaks are at 3-4MM. No notes in the system staring this also recommended rotor replacement with no measurement or discard reading or even offering a rotor turn versus full replacement.When I asked for measurements they said " glazed" Vehicle rides super smooth and has no brake issues. Chuck used to take care of us no problem its sad he's gone and the shop hasn't replaced his great honest customer service and people skills. Our business will be taking elsewhere from now one. Steer clear unless you like paying for stuff you don't need or don't mind paying extra. read more

I called on a Monday to see if they could replace tires on my car. They said sure, we have an appointment on Tuesday at 3pm, but if you bring it in the morning, we might be able to get you in sooner. I dropped off around 10am. I hadn't heard from them all day, so I called at 4:30pm. They told me sorry, they couldn't get to my car that day (even though it was there all day) and they would try to get to it on Wednesday. I told them I was traveling out of state on Wednesday and needed it done today. Too bad. Didn't honor my actual appointment at 3pm, and wouldn't accommodate my travel. Now instead of having time to take it to some place else, I have to drive out of state on old tires. I would not recommend this place. read more

I took my car to Tires Plus - Carson City, NV - for a few years and they seemed fine. I had an oil change/tire rotation appointment the day before Thanksgiving 2022. The manager told me I needed new tires. These tires, rated at 65,000, had less than 40,000 miles on them. The manager told me they were not safe to drive in snow or rain. He also told me I needed a tie rod replaced. I was really upset at the poor tread wear and was also worried about driving 4 hours to my Thanksgiving gathering. So I canceled. Very disappointing. I took the car to Les Schwab Tires about a week later and they told me the tread was 5/32. This is not yet a "dangerous" depth. Also, there was absolutely nothing wrong with the tie rod. Could it be that the manager was just trying to take advantage of my age and my gender? (60s and female). And that looking for a tie rod problem was not something I could do myself? By the way, I drove with those same tires all winter long and they were fine. And we had the snowiest winter in my area since 1952! (I live in the Sierra Nevada mountains). I canceled my Thanksgiving plans because this guy told me I was unsafe to drive which was not remotely true. I decided to buy my new set of tires from Costco. Just got them yesterday. I asked them to check the tie rod. NO ISSUE. I do not recommend Tires Plus, at least not the one in Carson City. It seems they just want to suck money out of people. read more

Actual quote from a worker: "It's really hot out there so our guys are moving slower than usual". Awful experience. I called ahead of time to get pricing and labor time for an oil change, and a diagnostic. I have a basic car, nothing special. The guy on the phone said yeah, no problem, lets make an appointment. So, I made an appointment. I live an hour and half away, and also run other errands while I am in town. I expressed this to the guy and he said no problem, we will do our best to get you out in a couple hours max. I got there early, and they, again, said "a couple hours". Here it is 6 hours later and my car is still in the bay. Its complete too, but just sitting there. The employees are rude , so that doesnt help the situation. So my entire Saturday is wasted because of my 3 hour drive time on top of the entire day I have spent for an oil change and diagnostic. Unreal. Will never be back. Oh and this is my one and only review I have ever left in my life. Will probably be the only one ever. But they are so rude , and its not my problem they aren't able to keep appointments. I called this place to check on availability for a wheel alignment and the original person who answered the phone was professional and was going to check for the next appointment and than placed me on hold. Another person picks up the phone with very poor customer service skills and gets an attitude on the phone when I told him why I was calling. I proceeded to schedule an appointment online for the next day and apparently they cancel any online appointments without informing the customer and when questioned the guy gets snippy with me when I asked about why no one called to tell me it was cancelled. Their old location behind the ampm was much better than the new location. Taking our car in there multiple times with appointments for oil change and they end up having to keep the car the entire day. The final straw was the last appointment that we had for an oil change We went in on the time that we were supposed to pick it up and that was five hours later and they still said they hadn't gotten to it. read more

Do not do business with this Tires plus location. Had my brake pads and rotors replaced in late July, which are covered by a year or more warranty for parts and labor. Had to take car back 5-6 months later because brakes are squeaking and vehicle chatters when applying breaks while going down hill. I didn't realize the issue until recently due to not driving much at all with Covid happening I've only put 400 miles on my car since I had this service done in late July. Bring car in for inspection to figure out what the issue is and they state they can't even check brakes as my tire tread is at 0 but yet in July -400 miles ago my inspection report shows my tread is in the green for good. I told them I would sign off on a liability form for my tires but my brakes need to be checked and they refused. Not only are they not holding up their end of the warranty but the information they put on documents is way off, they wrote down my mileage was 139,000 in July and now it's 136,000 miles. I will be pursuing a resolution to this but I would advise people to not do business at this location. Lastly I was told I would be getting a call back from Angela and never heard anything, I will be reporting this to the BBB and also to my local DMV's Compliance Enforcement Division to assist me in this matter. Arrived at 9:25 for a 9:30 appointment for oil change & tire rotation this past Saturday. Dirty, trash overflowing, filthy bathroom. Asked to be called when vehicle completed. Went for a walk. Checked at 10:30. Hadn't even taken it in yet. Waited on side picnic table. Checked again at 11. Nope. Checked again at 11:30. Done. Paid. Didn't offer ANY INFO ABOUT VEHICLE. I asked why the tires are wearing so fast. He tried to say it was out of alignment. No it's not. So I said you put fronts on back, backs on front, right? He responded according to the papers we didn't rotate the tires! I said Thanks for letting me know! I then walked out. POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE. NEVER GOING BACK!!! read more

I brought my Jeep here to have my trackbar adjusted. They charged me for an alignment, and did not adjust the trackbar at. all. I'm not sure how the entire front suspension being two inches towards the drivers side looked normal to them. My gf took her car here to get new wheels and tires mounted as well as an oil change. A few weeks after the oil change I noticed the vehicle was leaking oil and inspected the drain plug, which did not have a crush washer nor was tightened to the recommended ft/lb specs. chuck is a good guy, but his staff is incompetent. they Can't meet a deadline. Charge me for repair and same engine code comes back up while idling in their parking lot. Took 3 days for free tire swap out that I purchased from them. Ended up paying Christiansen for prompt, professional service. They have really struggled to perform satisfactory se for the last 3 years at least. chuck wants to help, but his staff just doesn't care. service manager threatened not to give me my keys unless I showed him "respect". After charging me $300 to give my car back in the exact same condition. Very upset. disputing the cc charge due to no services rendered. read more

The staff at this location were amazing to deal with and to hear them interact with everyone who walked in the door. The constant phrase was always let me see what I can do. I was blessed to work with Clint, he totally took care of me. The other staff would also constantly check in and say we are waiting on this, then come back in and say you are almost done. Bringing me out into the shop to actually show me the brakes before working on them. I have never felt so taken care of in a tire shop! They made my day all around. I highly recommend going to see them, give them a chance if you haven't I'm sure you'll be impressed with both their prices and service! read more

However yesterday they damaged all 4 rims on my muscle car. CHUCK looked at them and immediately said, "We will make this right I will get you 4 new rims." This place is amazing!!! The young lady that works the front is a joy to be around and keeps you updated and informed. The manager I believe he was is super helpfu. We had a flat and couldn't quite figure out how to get our car to them they kindly recommended their competition in a way to help us but we ended up stay with them. Awful customer service and time management. I've never bothered to leave a yelp review before. Had a 2:00 appt for an alignment, dropped my car off around 1. They say it would be done around 3:00. I called at 3:30, and they were gonna "get to it right away" called at 5:00, and a few times after and they wouldn't pick up the phone. Got there right before 6, my car was right where I left it. They offered to get it done right then, as in "let's rush what should be an hour job into 10 minutes and charge you the same," or that I could come back tomorrow, or "hey would you like to take another half day off work and ride your bike all over town again so your car can sit in the parking lot?" Lets rewind a year or so ago. I took a mounted tire in, dropped it off early in the morning. They said they'd have it taken care of ASAP. I called around noon and they hadn't gotten to it, and only when I called again right before they closed did they say they wouldn't be able to work on it. I couldn't comment on their work, as their scheduling and customer service is so poor I can't seem to actually get any work done. So if you want to quite literally have your time wasted, check 'em out...for me, never again read more

These guys are great. I pulled up with my car shaking while idling, Adam did a thorough check of my car and realized one of my filters was dirty and cleaned it out, fixed the problem instantly. I pause for a service that wasn't complete. I bought a used car and had to do some basic maintenance myself. Struts brakes, rotors ext. I also had new tires mounted about 5000k prior to visit. Upon my visit, I requested that they do an alignment and tire rotation. After waiting for about 2 hours 30 minutes of which my car was in the parking after completed, they said that the work was completed. They told me that I needed new struts, new tires and breaks and presented me with a quote for over $1000. I told them that they were just replaced by me and the tech gave me a blank stare. I paid for my alignment and tire rotation and left. Upon further inspection of the vehicle when I got to the parking lot I noticed that the tires had not been rotated. I went back in and the tech said that they had completed the rotation. I explained that I know that they had not been rotated as there was a specific wear on the front tires (which is why I needed an alignment) and not on the rears. He said that all tires had the same wear pattern which they did not. I did not want to argue as I knew I would not get a refund. Consumer be aware they try and upsale parts that are not needed and charge for services not completed. read more

So I took in my wife's new Jeep to get the tires rotated and get an oil change. With a 20% promotional discount on an oil change the total came to $89.18. I asked the manager if he could wave the $20 rotation fee due to my son's tires and my wife's last vehicle tires being purchased from their store. This was the first time we were taking my wife's new Jeep in with the tires that came with the vehicle. He promptly said no and then gave me a BS story about Labor intensity on tire rotation. I guess that's why I should be going to Les Schwab. I remember when I bought my truck I needed a tire rotation and had a slow leak in a tire. Les Schwab rotated my tires fixed the leak and said, "be sure to remember us when you purchase your tires next time" what a great company. read more

Don't tell them you are willing to wait for replacement battery because the one you have is completely dead....you will sit their at their mercy for 5 hours and not be able to leave until after dark . I was in a car accident last weekend near Kirkwood and fortunately no one was hurt and no other cars were involved (I had spun out on a huge patch of black ice). I was able to drive on my spare to Gardnerville to stay the night. We were on our way to Bishop for a climbing trip, so my car was fully loaded with climbing and camping gear. I went to Tires Plus early on Saturday morning as one tire had been bumped off the rim from the impact. They cleaned out the gap between the rim and the tire, replaced the valve stem which had been sheared off from the impact, refilled it with air, then swapped it w/ my spare. The whole process took maybe only 30mins and when I was going inside to pay, the guy told me there would be no charge. No charge!! I can't imagine a more helpful shop if you need tires or have tire related problems. read more

I cannot comment on their tire service, but do not get your oil changed here. The day after I got the change I smelled an unusual amount of oil burning from my engine, I checked the oil level and it was grossly overfilled about halfway up my dipstick. I drained the extra oil myself only to find out that they stripped my drain plug/oil pan to where it would only go so tight before it would just keep spinning as I tried to tighten it further. Update: car has now lost over a quart of oil after only about 300 miles on it. I also cannot use the heater when not moving without a heavy smell of burning oil filling the cab. read more

Unfortunately due to a nail in the side wall they were unable to repair the tire but i got a new one for a descent price. 3 hours later my cars good as new again. Not only did they get us up and running they did so quickly and even guided us to a nearby Thai place. Had an 11am appointment on Tuesday morning for which I dropped my car off the night before, Simply wanting an oil change and rotation... I had to wait until 5:55pm for them to do it! When I told the man at the counter, Clint, that I was upset about that, he said that I did NOT have an appointment and he was not the one who took my car in, so? Chuck at store #799863 in Gville, NV. was absolutely professional with his courtesy and customer service. I watched him give quality assistance for the 3 hours I waited to have my new purchased tires installed on Saturday 1/30/21. He is definitely a hustler of professional service! They had a deal going for $9.99 for a complete vehicle inspection. I said yes to the inspection, going into it knowing I had a leak in my transfer case, I wanted to see if they would detect it without me telling them. The Technician was 13 Lou, my transfer case leak was NOT detected instead they gave me a work order service recommendation and a verbal stating my Rack & Pinion has a bad leak that needs to be taken care of. quoted: $968.44. So on 2/1/21 I took vehicle back to the owner of Struve Automotive in Lake Tahoe to get my 2nd opinion. I was taken under the car and given a visual of my Rack and pinion with NO leak. So I spoke to Chuck this morning 2/6/21 at Tires Plus, I will be taking my car back in so they can take a look, I will be present as I do not trust them anymore. This is the 2nd time they have told me I had leaks, and when I paid for 2nd opinions, there were not any leaks. I just think that everyone should get a 2nd opinion when dealing with this location. 2nd time I was almost out nearly $1000 for their opinion, luckily I go and get 2nd opinions. read more

I got quite disappointed about how it went over here. When I got there with my rental car with a flat tire, I was told by a (nice) guy that it should be fixable by putting some extra layers into the tire for 20$ and I had to go back there the morning after. And somebody else told me on the morning that this was not fixable and I gotta buy a new tire. As there wasn't any agreement between the shop and the rental company, I would've had to buy a new one for 150$ and get reimbursed afterward, which was clearly not expected. I just asked if there was any open shop (it was on Saturday morning) with a possible agreement with rental cars and they advised me to go see at Walmart auto center couple miles away. You can imagine my shock when they told me it was fixable and the problem was fixed in 10min !?!? I'm just wondering: did they want to charge me just because I had a rental car ?? Absolutely crazy. I came here on a Sunday because less Schwab was closed. All I needed done was a patch in a tire that I took off the vehicle and dropped off for them. It's taken almost 6 hours to do the job which I did half of it for them. if it's going to take a full day to do a 30 minute job they should let the customer know. These guys are horrible. read more
