Learned today that the horrible shake/vibration I have been experiencing since the alignment/tire install was all because they don't know how to properly balance a tire. Even worse, the tires had been originally mounted white walls out - when I reminded them that I had requested black walls out they fixed it, but clearly never re-balanced the tires - I am guessing on purpose because they had to re-do the job. Discount was amazing as usual, balanced and rotated for free and the shake/vibration is completely gone!! Take your business elsewhere.

And about 30 minutes later, the woman calls me back downstairs to show me a receipt claiming that I need to have $300 of extra work done to my car prior to the alignment. I just moved here from Cali and I don't even have $300 in my name. She then claimed that if I were to have the work done elsewhere for a cheaper price, they would not acknowledge my Groupon which I have already redeemed, and would have to purchase ANOTHER Groupon... to get the services I already paid for. I purchased a Groupon for a four wheel alignment, and the front desk woman said it was for my diagnosis. That is a bunch of bull shit. Groupon even reviewed this and gave me a refund, and the customer support guy personally told me that he would be reporting this to his supervisor, without me asking him to do so. And the thing that really pissed me off, is the fake woman at the front telling me in a high pitched voice "Have a nice day" while I'm leaving, after trying to scam me. Like nahhhh fuck outta here

Never had as many problems just trying to get a reasonably accurate estimate from any auto repair shop as this one. The process with four other shops I checked out for the same repairs using same description went smoothly, so not sure why it was so difficult for RNJ. Needed a simple headlight replacement, installation of a new combo meter (circuit board that displays speedometer and odometer), and a quote for an engine swap on a Prius. The woman who provided a two hour quote for the combo meter, Nancy J., didn't know what one was - which is understandable - but apparently couldn't be bothered to look it up. On July 15 promised to get me a quote on the engine swap the next day, then almost two weeks later (July 27) said still didn't have it. Rather than being somewhat apologetic for not following up as promised, her reply was seething with sarcasm. Things rarely turn out well, in my experience, when a company is this careless and puts someone who doesn't understand the fundamentals of customer service as your first point of contact. It's not uncommon for these companies to exercise poor judgment in other aspects of the business as well. Bottom line: Service leaves much to be desired and prices not very competitive. Too many shops out there who are eager to earn your business and extremely capable to put up with this level of carelessness and sarcasm. Is this shop better than a dealership as mentioned in several of the positive reviews? Sure. But that's setting the bar really low. When I went outside after the service, I immediately noticed a lug nut was missing. After looking closer, I saw that the wheel stud itself was broken - which I know for a fact was not damaged prior to the repair. When I contacted the mechanic about it, he did not deny breaking it and asked me to go purchase a new stud and lug nut, which I did right away. He said he would return to install it, but after that point communication became very unreliable. I texted several times with no response. When he finally replied "yes" to confirm he would complete the repair, he still never followed through. Since then, my messages have gone unanswered. On top of that, he told me the broken stud was "no big deal" and that he knows someone who drives around with multiple broken studs - which was extremely concerning to hear from someone responsible for vehicle safety. I don't feel comfortable driving with a broken wheel stud, and the situation has been left unresolved. I wish this could have been a positive review, but based on the lack of accountability, poor communication, and safety concerns, it cannot be.
