Great place to have your tires done. Found a deal on the internet and these guys didn't have the tires in. They gave me the same price on a better set of tires instead of making me wait a week or more, for mine to get in. Explained to these guys that they were going on my wife's car and she needed to feel safe. They also gave me a discount on an oil change since I was getting the tires there. I brought my car in a few months ago and told them I needed new brakes. I left my car there while I was at work. They called to tell me I just needed some minor resurfacing and no new brakes were necessary. Trusting the fact that, for once, a mechanic WASN'T trying to upsell me on something my car didn't need, I was happy to not be spending unnecessary money. Last week my brakes were metal-on-metal. I took my car back and they said that 'sometimes that happens' and wanted $400 to actualy replace my brakes. Due to the safety issues, I paid (trying to avoid taking it somewhere else and paying for an inspection). No discount was given for previous work that didn't last. No one apologized for NOT recommending a brake job originally, even though that's what I originally requested. I feel like I was scammed, they knew it and dropped the ball. I've started using this Tires Plus lately because I've found that their prices actually are better than Tire Rack, my go-to tire store for the last 35 years. I've been impressed until today. I bought two tires and had them installed and also had an alignment done. I had an appointment and waited for two hours until they were done. When they handed over the car I drove off and realized that the steering wheel had not been centered when they did the alignment so I immediately bought it back and they corrected it. So, 2 and 1/2 hours to get the job done. I then checked the tire pressure and found that they'd used more air pressure than the car manufacturer's recommendation and hadn't checked the other two tires which were a little under-inflated. Not great work for a tire shop. 11/16/14: I've revised my rating downward. I didn't drive the car after the alignment, I loaned it to a friend and just got it back. The steering wheel is still about 20 deg. out of straight and the car is hard to turn, I suspect that the toe in was set incorrectly. I'm not going to take it back, I'll take it somewhere else. I may buy tires from them in the future but I won't have them install them or do any other work. 11/25/14: A further downgrade after I took my car to a reputable alignment shop, Sunshine Brake and Alignment, to get the wheels properly aligned with the steering wheel centered. They discovered that the tie rod ends had not been tightened and that the front wheels were improperly adjusted with toe out. All in all pretty pathetic work for a shop that "specializes" in wheel and tire work. Shop them for tire price but that's it. read more

If your psycho ex happens to go nuts and slashes up yo' tires - Firestone is the best place to get new ones! After calling all over town I found this place to be the cheapest deal in town on tires. They always have specials running, and they offer more then just tires too. Service is fast and friendly, the guys working there are cute.... even if they are all greasy and dirty - its in that good kind of way! Have been meaning to write a review so here goes.... The guys at Firestone are like your husbands [well, not mine] but way better because they wear uniforms, don protective eye wear and encourage credit card use [additional discounting too for cc]. Travis has worked there since I've been a customer and is always a pleasure. He just smacks of honesty and hard work. Each time I make an appointment they speak with me as though I'm an old friend. If there is any additional work to be done they explain and prioritize to help me decide what work to do first. The location is kind of great too... you can wander over to Meadowood, Barnes and Nobles or just hang out on the lawn. Nice to know that I can get the work taken care of with no worry. I went to this location because it was recommended by a friend. OMG!! Although, their customer service was good, I was shocked at the price they quoted me. They said I needed to leave my car for a week since they were going to special order a part for my car, I ended up having a friend fix it and found out the "special part" that was to be ordered was actually coming form a junk yard for $28.00 and they quoted me $156.00. I found out because the junk yard guy said Tires plus had called and asked to hold the part and I said no, that's for my car. They're nice but not honest. At the end they quoted me for $2000.00 and my friend did it for $100 and the parts cost $50.00. IF your a women they will yip you in a heartbeat. My sister had a flat tire and this appeared to be the closest tire place from where she was coming from. Initially the guy (I'll have to see if I can find his name on the paperwork) helping us was patient given that my sister and I were in between calling our dealership as we have a roadside assistance package deal but his attitude change was so obvious. He had recommended the Bridgestone set of tires which we decided upon. We were told they were about $150 each so upon ringing us up-I was expecting the total purchase to be roughy $600-700 however he said we owed $892. He had tacked on an alignment package we didn't even need (as we have one through Subaru). We went back in to ask that they remove it and you could tell he was not happy. Later when we went to pick up the car-he didn't even acknowledge us. You could tell his motive wasn't to try and help his customers but he probably saw that we were two girls who didn't know anything about cars and tried to see how much he could get out of us. Despite that however, we did get all 4 tires changed in a timely manner. read more

Best tire store in town. I wouldn't go anywhere else. I pulled up in my truck to see if they sell tire gauge and they checked my tires for me. They were so nice I didn't even buy my tires there. So when I sent my husband there because he thought he needed new tires. They checked them and told him he didn't need new tires yet. My husband is kinda clueless when it comes to cars.LOL They could've sold my husband 4 tires he didn't need but instead the were honest These guys have integrity. Took my car in for repair of a tire which had a screw in the tread. I'm sure it was an easy fix, but I was shocked that they charged me nada. I tried to get the sales guy to charge me something, but he refused. I gave the technician a $10 cash tip. I can't guarantee you'll get the same treatment, but I'll certainly come back to TiresPlus if I need tire help. read more

They did not honor an appointment I made online and wasted my time. I made an appointment online for the afternoon for an oil change. I received an e-mail regarding it that clearly said "MPORTANT MESSAGE: If your requested appointment date becomes unavailable, we will contact you directly to discuss rescheduling to a time that's convenient for you." I showed up at the scheduled time and they said the appointment was not confirmed and they cannot get to my car today. Of course, nobody called me to say the requested appointment time wasn't available and saved me the time and hassle of driving down there for nothing. read more

I popped in here on a Sunday morning a few weeks back on my way home to San Diego. I usually service my vehicle through Firestone Complete Auto Care, turns out they're one in the same. I just needed a top off on my oil for the drive back and the guy who helped me, maybe Keith? (I'm horrible with names) Was awesome! He pulled up my account, verified I was a customer and had me pull around to get my fluids. I gotta say his general attitude and personality really started my day off right for the long drive back. Tires Plus is amazing! While on a 2 week road trip we needed to replace one of our trailer tires. We called several tire shops and either they didn't have what we needed or they were closed. We finally took a little detour and ended up at Tires Plus on South Virginia Street in Reno,NV. Although they were extremely busy on a Sunday afternoon, Joel took the time to help us and put us safely back on the road. He was efficient, friendly, and knowledgeable. The mechanics here recommended that I replace my timing belt. After improperly installing it and then starting the car, they destroyed the engine. Of course they tried to fix it. A week later my car was back on the road but had a severe oil leak because they couldn't manage to put it back together right. I took it back three more times for a fix and they never got it right. I was forced to trade in my vehicle. I had just finished paying it off a couple months before! I wouldn't trust anyone here with anything more complicated than an oil change. read more

I took my car in to firestone at this location not knowing what the problem was. I was expecting to spend a lot of money and I was dreading the whole experience. There wasn't a clear solution to the problem my car was having, but they did top off my transmission fluid which seemed to fix the issue. They didn't charge me anything for the diagnostic they ran or the transmission fluid they added to my car. Everything was done in a matter of a couple of hours and overall it was a wonderful experience. read more

Pulled in at 8:30 am on a Saturday, no appointment, all bays full, needing a brake inspection. Travis met me at the counter, was super friendly and got the ball rolling, saying he'd call me when they got an estimate together. So I Left my keys and hoped for the best. Couple hours later, call comes in and I was expecting a hefty bill. They let me know I didn't need new brakes at all, and explained why I was experiencing the classic bad brakes symptoms. When I got there to pick up my car, they had everything ready for me to pick up and go. Gave me a quote for some other work I asked about, and that was it. No pushy sales, no "highly recommended" services, just a courtesy inspection sheet From when they checked my belts, battery, etc. Normally I'm weary of big name places like this, but Travis and his crew have definitely earned my business from here on out. read more

Quick history: I have been coming here for years, Travis has always taken good care of me. When Travis transferred to a different location, I continued coming here but that was a mistake because the quality of service suffered. I found where Travis worked and started coming back to see him even though the location was not as convenient. This review is based on the service I received last week. I found a nail in my back passenger tire earlier this week. I drive a 4-wheel drive vehicle so if one tire needs to be replaced, it means ALL tires needs to be changed. I was hoping that it was just a quick patch up but the nail was on the side wall of the tires which means (wait for it)... NEW TIRES. Great, let's spend some more money on car repairs! Just want I wanted to do. I had to teach class this day so I wasn't able to come in till 6:30pm (they close at 7pm). With only one technician, Brian stepped up and handled my problem. No questions asked, they stayed late and got the job done. This experience made me appreciate what great customer service is all about. Side note: I went to another location across from WinCo before coming to this location because it was the closest one from where I was. The guy behind the desk just said we're slammed and only had one technician in a very unfriendly tone, almost irritated. I proceeded to walk out the door thinking "I will never come back to this location ever again." I love this location because of Travis. Travis always takes care of my car needs and his staff are the same way. No matter where he goes, he seems to affect his staff in such a positive way. My tire pressure gauge goes off on my way home. Typical. I go to a Chevron to get air in my tires and OF course "machine doesn't work". I drive by TiresPlus and asked the man inside if i could pay to get some air. He did it for free! This is the best way to end my day. I'd give 4.5 stars, as no place is ever perfect and I always spend a lot of money here so it is just painful to go...but then again, I have two cars with a combined mileagle of nearly 400K and the youngest one is over 11 years old. These guys keep them running, they do have good deals on tires and as noted, they help you prioritize the work that needs to be done. One time they even told me that they could not diagnose the issue, and while they could try a bunch of other stuff, it would be expensive and not guaranteed to fix anything,,,and even recomended a place to go. That is what I call Business integrity. If you need car repairs or tires, Travis and his crew are the people to take care of it. read more

I needed tires on a budget. I being me waited last minute to get this done. I set an appointment with the Gardnerville store cause that's where I live. They called me right before my appointment to tell me they did not have the tires. They referred me to Reno near the Peppermill Hotel. I called they said they had the tires but could not install them for a few days. I went out there to just buy the tires and I could get them installed at a wal mart. I get there and they said our mistake we don't have them in stock. They then sent me here to the Meadowood location. This place was awesome. They were very professional, kind, and accommodating. They said if you want us to install them we can and they were super quick. They offered me a discount my troubles and apologized for any inconveniences I had. Firestone Tires is now TiresPlus. Service was good. I stand corrected, service was great! I needed 4 tires for my 72 Ford. It took me a while to locate them since the original tire size is not carried by most dealers. When I went there, the brand name tire (Primus) was in stock. I requested long valve stems, since they are the only ones that will poke through the hub caps. I got one compliment on the old rust bucket, but I wasn't there for that and she's far from showing off at all. When I was getting ready to leave, a worker told the manager (Travis) that the tires I ordered were different than the tires that were on there. He even mentioned that I had existing white walls whereas the replacements weren't white walled at all. I said it's okay and that the tire size I ordered was closer to the original tire size than what was currently on the vehicle. I was pleased that they showed concerned about the different tire size. I was offered the warranty package and road hazard. But, since I have Old Timer plates, I'm only limited to 5,000 miles/year. So, I declined Bottom line ---------------- I would recommend this place. And, I will go there again. They were friendly Not condescending Treated all the customers that I over heard, including myself, with respect. And, they also checked my brakes. Told me that the front needed service soon. Which is cool. I will check that out, maybe this winter. read more

Stopped off here after blowing my tire out on the freeway. When I call they said they had my tires in stock and were super friendly on helping me get my car back on the road. They had my car replaced with four new tires in less then 45 minutes. The price for new tires was a reasonable price and I couldn't complain. I had to come back the next day for my alignment because they helped me right before the store closed and the tech wasn't there. Next day I came by and dropped my car off for its alignment they had it done in less time they said it would take. I'm not from the state and I will have to say I'm glad there is good mechanics out here that are not trying to rip people off all the price I paid would be the same if I was back in the Bay Area. I couldn't possibly say enough about the amazing service I received at Tires Plus at Meadowood Mall. I've been taking my vehicle to Tires Plus for years for tires and oil changes and the occassional repair. I've always received great service. I took my car to a different location because a friend of mine (the very best mechanic in the world, Murray!) recently started working at the Meadowood location. Originally I needed to have an oil leak checked. I drove by one afternoon and Travis and Cameron put some dye into my engine so they could see where the leak was coming from during my service. It took them 2 minutes, no appt, nothing. They were so friendly and acted as if servicing my vehicle was their pleasure! That is something you just don't see in many industries these days. The next day my engine began to overheat and I had to have my vehicle towed to the shop. They took it in, no problem, kept it while it was being looked at, called the warranty company and arranged for the payment on the repairs. I barely had to do anything! The people here are amazing and I will never take my car anywhere else! Thank you SO much for your excellent service and for making a stressful situation so much easier to manage!
