I love this place. There is not as much room to sit here as the Ridgewood location that my family also goes to from time to time, but it is still neat. We love that surfboard table against the wall. The fries are my favorite and the chicken quesadillas are huge (so I share it with my husband). My sons love going here and ordering burritos and kids quesadillas. I love the music played and they of course cater more to the surf and skate laid back environment which we love. It is a smaller location which is probably best to order out from. I ordered 3 shrimp tacos with no peppers, hard and soft shells over the phone. I was told it was going to take 15 minutes. While it may have only taken 15 minutes to make I did not get my food for 40 minutes because the kids at the front forgot about my order. I asked 3 times if my food was ready, and for some reason when I asked the 3rd time it finally registered that with them that I ordered food. I work in town around here, and this is one of my favorite spots to go to for lunch. First of all, beware this is more of a California style burrito than it is Tex-mex. now that that's out of the way, the food is excellent. It's always fresh and comes out hot from the back. I typically get a burrito called "The Bird is the Word" or just "the bird" for short. That comes with chicken, rice, beans, pico de Gallo, and guacamole in it. I think my favorite thing about this place is the fact that you get a free side of chips along with your meal and they have an entire salsa bar. There's multiple options from pico to hot salsas. You're also able to. Take some home with you. This spot does get pretty busy and the inside is small, so the only downfall is if you want to eat there it's going to be a little bit of a challenge. read more

Oh Tito's Burritos. How I adore you. This place is much better than Chipotle or Qdoba, all because of their salsa bar. The fresh salsa bar is a very nice touch and something I've come to expect from good burrito places. Try their salsa verde, it's so cool and refreshing. The burritos are just a little on the plain side but still much better and fresher than assembly line burritos we're all used to. I've been going to Tito's since they first opened in 2005, when the owner, Mike, used to work the counter in the evenings. For a long time, one of my proudest possessions was the 'amigo card' he gave me for being a loyal customer. Sadly, the place has taken a terrible turn for the worse over the past year or so. The quality of the food is so-so, and the service is just abysmal. I recently had to wait 25 minutes for one burrito, and when I finally got it, it was cold. Tito's has long been a great local success story, but their business has gone stale. Do yourself a favor and go to the nearest Chipotle instead. read more

I ordered an order of Gnarly-Q wings for lunch. I was craving some wings and was in the Summit area. I ordered a 6 piece for $8.00, which is a bit pricey for 6 wings. The sauce was delicious but the wings were not crispy at ALL. They were too soft and soggy for my liking. Once again, the sauce was very good but the actual wing was not. I would give them another try but ask for the wings to be well done in order to get some type of crispiness that is expected when eating a good wing. read more

Tito's is a franchise QSR. This place keeps a nice, relaxed vibe and plenty of seats and tables in the rear of the restaurant to have lunch or dinner with a larger group. This locations offers some interesting mixed variety of the the standard or . Only reason they didn't get a full 5 stars is that I asked for a cup so I can full up with salsa condiments. They said they could not give me a cup. Instead, I used 10 small to go, clear, smaller plastic containers to get the equivalent of 1 cup. Think it was more of a waste to use the clear plastic containers. Oh well, sometimes policies without thought lead to more environmental waste!! read more

I am really confused on the previous reviews. I have been wanting to go for several months and finally made the trip for lunch today. Big mistake. Place is about the size of a shoe box and bustling during lunch. They do get the line moving quickly. Ordered the Mac Daddy. It sounded good on the message board but when I took my first bite, it was not sitting well. After a few more bites still not good. It wasn't good because it was all tortilla. Virtually no meat, a little sour cream, lots of beans and guac...it was not worth the nearly $9 I paid for it (didn't include a drink either). The steak was fatty and no seasoning whatsoever. The sour cream tasted like it was sitting out for weeks. It comes with stale chips...yup really stale! Ripoff to say the least!!!! Place is expensive, food is terrible, place is hot inside, not well ventilated. I am dumbfounded on why people like this place. Even my friend who came with me was very disappointed! Never again. Go to Chipotle or Qdoba's instead. A little less expensive, better quality and more flavorable. read more

I wanted to like this place. I really did. I had heard they served good burritos but had never gotten around to coming here. When I'm alone and the urge strikes, I usually hit up Chipotle. My friend was visiting me from out of town and I let her choose between here and Picante. She chose this place. We drove over on a below-freezing Friday at dinner time. We were both very, very hungry. We were expecting a small and crowded place and that's basically what it was. We waited in line and ordered our food to-go because all the tables were full. We figured if someone left we could always eat the food in. I got The Bird (chicken burrito with the works - chicken, beans, sour cream, guac, and pico) and my friend got basically the same thing but with ground beef instead of chicken. A family left so she grabbed a couple stools in the back and after a few minutes I went up front to wait for our orders. Hers came out first; I brought it to her and went back to wait for mine. And then I waited, and waited, and waited some more. For some god awful reason, I tend to be forgotten, a lot. Maybe it's because I'm quiet and respectful. But I was kind of silently staring at all the girls because of the long gap in time. They had packaged a few meals in to-go bags that were just sitting on the counter in the back room. Finally, after pretty much everyone got their food except for like 2 people who had just come in, and there was no line, I had to speak up to get someone's attention. There were 3 - not 1 but 3 - girls just doing menial tasks like putting chips in bags and refilling the salsa bar. It would have been nice if someone said - What are you waiting for or How can I help you? I said excuse me, can you please check on my order? I told them I got the Bird. So she goes to that counter, looks at the 3 bags, picks one up, and hands it to me. It had been sitting there for five minutes!!! There is no reason for that to happen. And the kicker is she didn't apologize for the wait, the mixup, or say anything at all!!! The other thing that bothered me about the service is I ordered some mexican soda in a glass bottle. After I sat down I realized it was not a screw top. Now I actually have a bottle opener on my house key chain but I didn't have it with me... so I sadly had to go back to the counter if I wanted to drink my soda. I went up and noticed a bottle opener in a case of pens next to the register. I didn't want to just grab it so I asked if the girl has a bottle opener. She takes the bottle out of my hands, opens it, and hands the bottle back to me. Again, didn't say anything at all! It was a little rude. I don't know what was up their you know whats that evening. Finally, the food. The chips were ok - some were a little stale, some were alright. Again, I was starving. From the salsa bar, the pico de gallo was good, and the salsa verde was nice and tangy. The medium was awful! I normally eat medium salsa but be warned this one has some strange kick to it - it's either horse radish, mustard or wasabi - something from that family of flavors. My friend didn't like it at all either, so it wasn't just me. Now the most important part - the burritos. Even with the sour cream and guac, my burrito tasted dry. I don't think there was any pico in it. I kept pouring salsa verde and pico onto it. The chicken could use some sauce or marinade. It tasted like super plain chicken. And I don't think black beans give any flavor at all. So the burrito was totally bland. I even left a bite or two uneaten, which I usually never do. My friend didn't dislike hers as much as I did, but she totally agreed there wasn't much, if any, "mexican flavor" to her burrito or beef. And she said she couldn't really taste the guac either. So, bottom line, food disappointing, service, ugh. Would I try this place one more time? Yes, one more time, but not anytime soon. read more

So.... story goes that this past summer I was visiting a friend who lived in Jersey and she said "I gotta take you to this tex-mex sorta place, you'll love it!". Being the fajita / burrito / guacamole connoisseur that I intend to be why not give it a whirl. After getting lost a few times because reading directions is not my forte... finally the Taj Mahal of Tex-Mex food was only a few steps away. The welcoming beachy / California-ish laid back ambience is only the beginning. Reggae resonating in the background and a long table made of a surfboard only exudes the laid back lifestyle. Tito's Burritos was better than sex on a Sunday afternoon. Everything is well-made, FRESH, and exotic in its own sort of way. The Hawaiian Chicken BBQ Burrito along with Tito's guacamole, seriously would be my last meal before the electric chair. This is how good it is... I live in Long Island now and last night I had a wholly for some good Tex-Mex. We drove about an 1 hour and 45 minutes to savor it. So worth it! I swear they should sponsor tour-bus service there. I must say that I am pretty shocked by the pretty good overall reviews by my fellow Yelpers for Tito's. Here is my general rule of thumb for following Yelp reviews and I actually think it works really well - if a place averages at least 3.5 stars and has at least 10 reviews, then it is probably pretty good. It has never failed me...until today. To start - the place is incredibly tiny, very difficult to sit together with more than 2 people (we had 3). It was also close to 90 the day we ate here and the place was incredibly hot. I went with the chicken burrito and it definitely wasn't terrible, but it wasn't very good. It was very bland overall - bland chicken, rice and beans. I wasn't impressed. I also sampled my wife's ground beef burrito and there was absolutely no seasoning used with the meat. My sister, who is a vegetarian, had the vegetarian burrito and she thought her's was bad, too. Even the fountain soda machine wasn't operating properly. They did have a decent salsa bar - I will give them that. I really don't like writing 1-star reviews, but I feel like you have to when it is warranted. This is one of those places I would describe as good enough, better than Chipolte, but not something I am going to rave about. If I am going to a matinee movie in Summit or feeling spectacularly lazy on a Friday night Tito's is one of the three places my fiance and I will go to grab dinner. The burrittos are generally pretty good and my fiance likes their shrimp tacos. The service is fast, we tend to call our orders in so we just go for pick ups and avoid the tiny seating area. Tip: I tend to ask for my guac to be on the side because the people making the burritos have two settings, a pile of guac or barely any at all. I just get it on the side and apply myself. I'm normally love this place but today was an exception. I ordered something different today...I asked for queso sauce in my burrito in place of the cheese it already came with. Not only was I charged extra for the replacement queso sauce but was told that I would get a small scoop. I asked for a side of sauce and agreed to pay for it but was then told that they only sell it in the big bottle for $7. I could not buy nor would they let me have a smaller 2, or 4 oz container of sauce???. The customer service is certainly lacking. No one expects to get anything for free but you should at least be able to pay for what you want and accommodate a customer if they want sauce on the side. May be visiting less often. Update3/16/17. Fresh Mexican Food To Go! I work in town so I usually call an order in and pick up - my favorites are the Mac Daddy (naked) and the fish tacos on soft shell. Both made fresh to order and I love the homemade chips that come along with each order. I'm also a fan of the empanadas...especially the beef.
