We have been patrons of Tito's for several decades, it's been a family favorite for our children and now our grandchildren! The food is always consistently delicious and fresh and the ambiance and decor is perfect, old San Leandro family restaurant. It's good to start with their thirst quenching margaritas, a nice assortment to choose from. My husband always orders the Enchilada Mariscos and usually my daughter and daughter-in-law do the same, my favorite is the Plato Pescado (red snapper) although this last time I had the carnitas which was lean and delicious. I do miss the Mexican pork steak which is no longer on the very extensive menu, maybe they will bring it back! We also had the shrimp ceviche which was very flavorful. The service is excellent with friendly and efficient staff. If you have room for dessert their flan is very good too. I love to support a family owned restaurant and this is definitely a good one with a long tradition! read more

Good experience here - no complaints! Looking for a quick place for lunch- somewhere a group of 5 could find seating. A coworker had happy hour the night before and said their enchiladas were decent so we came to Titos!!!! They hit everything on our basic checklist which includes: - parking - clean floors (honestly not any dirt in sight) - decent bathrooms (albeit the stalls are super small. Idk about you but I hate being in confined spaces and I feel a person with more weight would have difficulty turning around in the stalls) - plentiful seating - designated area for groups - a variety of spicy salsas :/) - they split checks :-) We all ordered chicken enchiladas with everything on it. This plate came with a side of rice and beans of your choice. I definitely couldn't finish my plate so that says their serving size is plentiful. The taste wasn't bad at all but not memorable. The mixed plate was not seasoned at all. my beans were watery and my rice was not orange. The woman working was polite I guess but I had a stomach ache after ingesting the chicken tamale and enchilada. I won't eat here again unless I'm ordering a lot of their salsa. but the cups were 1/5 full of salsa which I think is ridiculous. My first time here, and if you're not satisfied try counting from 10 backwards and calm down, because the staff here do a damn good job taking care of diners. I noticed some mistakes, but it was nothing they couldn't fix, or that they didn't hesitate to fix. People often point out the bad without shedding light on the efforts they put into satisfying each individual. Waiters and servers have a hard enough job, eat some humble pie and things will be fine. Portions are enough for leftovers, unless you want to get your grub on. Drinks aren't for the amateurs. Seating in ample and comfy. Parking is good. Happy hour exists, but NOT on weekends! Sadly updating to three stars. I still like the food but the wait time has been much too long the past four times we have been here. I didn't want to change the star level for a local place, but it took twenty minutes to get the check and then attempt to pay during the most recent visit. The crazy thing was that we were in the bar and there was nobody around to even ask for the bill. I could have grabbed a bottle of Jack on the way out and not paid and nobody would have noticed (I would never do that due to my ongoing Catholic guilt but the owners should worry about less trustworthy visitors). I like the food but it will be a long time before we are back given the wait to leave. There are enough Mexican food joints in the area to travel to instead. I love the seafood dishes, mostly fish and shrimp, and the delicious sauces they come with. The burritos have enough guacamole/avocado and juices (tomato/salsa) to make them flavorful, not dry like at other places. Very good grilled chicken. The carnitas is really good, too, done perfectly, not fatty and burnt like at some other places. Very tasty soups/caldos like chicken/tortilla and seafood. I remain consistent with ordering the camorones Escondido's and my new favorite adult beverage is the jalopeno cucumber margarita. Been here many times, tonight's experience was terrible. Everyone was shoved into one small section of the restaurant and the waitress spent more time in the kitchen than waiting tables. Then a party of 8 screaming people were seated in our laps practically...no beer refills, had to chase the waitress down in the kitchen to get the check. About two sips into my drink I found a fruit fly swimming about. I live in the Bay Area, close to bay fair, and decided I should for once in my life give this place a try since we always pass by it... BIGGEST MISTAKE !!! Food is AWFUL. DISGUSTING. My mom's birthday was yesterday and we initially planned on going to Chili's across the street from Tito's. Well, there was a very long wait so instead we went to Tito's. We were seated right away, and the waitress was very friendly and knowledgeable. The interior is great and large and not what I expected when we first got there. The inside has several different seating areas that are stylized well and look cool. They also have historical pictures of the owners and the place itself. Everyone in my family loved the food we ordered. My mom and her sisters shared a fajita plate. My dad got a grilled salmon. My uncle got steak. My husband hot mole enchiladas and I got an al pastor burrito. We all loved our food - it tasted so authentic and fresh! All in all, we had a great time and the staff made it even better. My daughter, son in law and I had dinner here last night. It was the first and last time I'll spend a dime at this poor excuse for a Mexican restaurant. My all time favorite Mexican dinner is Chile Relleno, rice and beans. I've eaten Mexican food for at least 60 years in Texas. Arizona and California so I know a thing or two about Mexican cuisine.., especially Chile rellenos. I should have known the food was subpar when there was only one couple in the dining room when we walked in. Mind you this was maybe 8 pm on a Friday night. I've never had a relleno that wasn't battered completely. It was stuffed, well not exactly stuffed it was more like an afterthought, of some strange cheese inside. The rice was like Uncle Ben's with a little red color. Uck. The refried beans were the best part of the dish. The chips were not made in-house although the salsas were decent. I ordered a margarita that tasted like a virgin margarita. The decorations and painting on the wall were nice. My advice is if you want a good Mexican meal don't eat at Tito's. read more

So I've been in the Bay Area for 24 years and I had never been to Titos so I figured it would be nice to go since they had closed the Chevys in Bayfair. Boy was I wrong, I can wait another 24 years be for I go back to that horrid establishment. First, my friend and I were sat in an area of the restaurant were casper and his homies were, ugh. We missed happy hour by 30 mins, like where do they do end happy hour @ 6:30??? We ordered a pitcher of Strawbery margaritas for 24.99 that was basically a slurpee. Neither one of us felt any kind of buzz :( . I ordered two steak tacos with rice and beans which was another disaster. My tacos came with lettuce and tomatoes which was ridiculous for traditional carne asada tacos. The steak was bland and I had to add salt and pepped to try to bring it back, but it was no hope. The rice and beans looked dried up and it was a small portion. My friend ordered some guacamole amd we had to doctor that up with salt, salsa and lime and it was still ok :-/ . The service was terrible, we didn't have any napkins. My friend had to get up and get us some half way through the meal. Once the waitress saw her getting the napkins they wanted to come over every 5 minutes asking did we need anything which was really annoying. I almost decided against a visit to this restaurant after reading all the bad reviews. However, I'm brand new to the area and the place is just a few steps from my home, so decided I'd just give it a try. Glad I did! I sat at the bar since I was on my own and the bartenders were friendly and helpful. Service was incredibly quick. I had the Enchiladas Mariscos and they were sublime. I've been very disappointed with seafood dishes at Mexican restaurants in the past, so this was a great surprise. The crab was fresh and plentiful, and the enchiladas were smothered but not drowning in a well-seasoned sauce and topped with lots of yummy, melted cheese. Refried beans were also very tasty and among the best I've had at Mexican restaurants. I also enjoyed their La Casa Margarita which had plenty of alcohol. Some parts of the meal where just so-so: their rice and flan were just average, and I actually disliked their salsa. So, this may not be the right place for people who feel that superior chips and salsa is what makes a great Mexican meal. Overall however, I really enjoyed the food here and won't need to look far in future when I'm in the mood for Mexican. read more

Sour. Cream. Chicken. One of the best "comfort food" dishes I've had. This version rivals my aunt Maria's and my mom's popular dish. Tito's version has slices of red and green bell peppers that just pops the dish. Spices were also a bit different, I can't really recall what they were but included lots of garlic. MMM! This place has been around for a very long time. Decor is takes you to the 1950's. I imagine this place was the place you went to for "fancy Mexican" There's something kinda cool about this place not changing too much. Owned by the same family too. I love Tito's I've been coming here for??? 15 years or more. My Favorite Dish 'Tito's Chimichanga' Marinated grilled white meat chicken with a special slightly sweet Relleno sauce. I like white meat chicken. I always get my guacamole on the side. However I have had their chicken taco which is a mix and that is excellent too. Excellent Margaritas and large selection of Tequila for the discerning tastes. Great unique atmosphere for date night or family gatherings. I have also had there beef tacos and green pork burritos are good to. I had the Chile Relleno and didn't realize is was a the same sweet sauce. So can't put my 100 on this one. It's hard for me to order off my usual when its so good and like to go to treat myself. I highly recommend Tito's. It's family owned and operated. The salsa is very mild, you get 2 kinds, I usually scoop some of the hotter salsa into my pico de gallo to make it a little spicier. If you like it really spicy I think you'll have to ask for it special. PS the cheese they use is really high quality and good. Very important to have good cheese. Location: It's across from Bay Fair Mall and Theater. Perfect date night dinner and a movie. There is street parking out front on E. 14th St and a small parking lot in the back for skilled drivers. We LOVE Tito's! This is one of our favorite Go To Restaurants! Cool ambiance with murals, a gorgeous bar and neat artwork through out the restaurant. The wait staff are friendly and usually pretty fast. Our favorite go to meals are- Miguel's Ceaser salad, it's chicken and shrimp and grilled veggies over a ceaser salad!! YUM! We crave this salad!! And all their soups are amazing! We've had many other items from the menu as well and have loved it all! Also I can't leave out their margaritas! They do not disappoint!!! Came here yesterday with a friend to have lunch. We couldn't decide where to eat so she named "Tito's" we said what the heck let's try it since we both never been there. As you enter the restaurant side is to your right and there's a pretty big size bar on the left. The waitress proceeded to sit us in the restaurant side and we opted for the bar. The place is really dim, has a Mexican style to it but at the same time reminded me of church. LOL The side of the booths has the same wooden structure as the church seats and the windows that had the painted glass reminded me of church. It had some gothic chandeliers and lights which kinda gave it a creepy feel in the bar area. LOL The walls are covered with Aztec paintings. Nobody was in the bar side but me and my friend and when she decided to go to the bathroom I almost felt like I would see a ghost LOL Marc Anthony played in the background the whole time we were there. The waitress very nice took our orders. I had the chicken chimichanga with rice and my friend had a cheese enchilada with rice and beans. No lie about 5 minutes later we had our food. The chimichanga was pretty good it doesn't compare to the one at La Piñata but it did its justice. I didn't like the rice at all. It was kinda hard and just didn't have a good taste to me. My friend liked her food. After the lunch we decided to try the drinks since Happy Hour had just started. I had a Tequila Sunrise and she had a Pomegranate Margarita. I wasn't too happy with my Tequila Sunrise because they used Sunny Delight and Im not a fan. So for my second and third drink I stuck to the Pomegranate Margarita LOL so did my friend LOL While we sipped on our Margaritas we had some Buffalo wings.
