We came here on a weeknight and it wasn't too busy when we got there. We were able to find street parking right in front of the restaurant, but apparently they have some parking in the back too, though not sure about that since I never tried that. I ordered the combination plate with a taco, chicken tamale, and enchiladas. The asada taco had pretty thick pieces of steak. I didn't like how thick it was, but my dogs sure did. The cheese enchiladas were good and tasty -- what you would expect for that. My partner really liked his steak plate and thought his steak was seasoned and cooked well. The worst thing about my meal was the chicken tamale -- the chicken was heavily seasoned and just did not taste right. It fell apart at the touch and had a weird texture. I would not get the tamales again. But overall, the food was pretty good and we'd come back. Our meal came with complimentary chips and salsa, which was nice. The service wasn't the best, as the waiter didn't check in on us a whole ton. read more

Man I don't know where to start. I used to come here as a child. I loved this place. It's been well over 10 years since I've been here. My husband and I decided to give it a try for old times sake. I wish we hadn't. Service was great. Same servers for years. The food was not good at all. I'm not sure what happened here. But it did sadden me. They need to remodel this place & get new cooks. I've been eating at Tito's since 1970. Over 20 years ago I moved out to Pleasanton but I still drive back to San Leandro for my favorite Mexican food They have the best margaritas also. I really love the bacon wrapped shrimp and also the one that I posted that I had yesterday. I love having yelp as a good source of where to go. Whenever I travel, I especially use it. I enjoyed the atmosphere and cozy vibes of this place! They had a propane fueled heater to keep the room warm during the cold winter nights. The parking situation isn't the easiest as they have a very small one-way parking lot that you need to back out of into the street for as you leave, so street parking might be ideal for most guests. There are tons of food options to choose from and the portions are huge. I ordered the steak chimichanga, which I enjoyed - it also came with rice and beans on the side. Service was not bad either. Our server was attentive and she helped answer all of our questions. The only thing that was questionable was the bill at first because it was hard to understand what was itemized, and she rounded all of the prices to the nearest whole number rather than what was listed on the menu. Anyway, glad I finally got to try this place! It makes for a cute date night or family dinner. read more

Old school sit down Mexican restaurant that's been around since the 50's. Amazing old building. I came here for the first time in many years. Very friendly service. I had a Johnny's Heavy Chevy Margarita. Tasty and strong. Seasoned chips came warm with 3 different salsas. All delicious. I had the Tito's Fajitas. Steak, shrimp and chicken. You can get plenty of good, traditional Mexican food at Tito's. I am a particular fan of the molè chicken dish. But you can't go wrong with most anything on the menu based on my experiences and those of friends. But what I REALLY love about Tito's is that they are one of the few places I know of in the area that serves sopapillas. Moreover, they serve sopapillas exactly the way I love them: fluffy, fresh out the oven, a generous serving of honey (can be on the side), and generous sprinkles of cinnamon. Oh so good. My only quibble is that sopapillas are only available on Fridays. Supposedly it's because of chef availability. I am someday enough people order sopapillas that they decide to make them more available again! read more

My wife and I noticed this while we were eating dinner at a restaurant across the street. We tried it today really excited about finding another place to dine. I actually liked the ambiance. The service was fast and friendly. I ordered Chili Colorado. It's my favorite and usually helps me gauge the restaurant. When mine arrived it just barely resembled the dish I know. When I tasted it I was disappointed. I asked the waitress to ask the cook if he had tasted it. They offered to remake it and eventually I agreed. The replacement looked closer but still tasted way off. There was a man either a manager or possibly the owner who agreed it was not right and probably was the chilis. We paid for my wife's meal which was just okay and left. I give them kudos for trying to make it right and for their friendliness. The place has a lot of potential. Being where it is they have to get it right. There are many good Mexican restaurants nearby. read more

Tito's is a great old school spot with good food and lovely service. Many selections available, food is always dependable.

Lots of ok food at Tito's. The ceviche had more tomatoes than shrimp. It was ok. I ate it with their chips and salsa. Hub had the street tacos with chicken and one with beef and it came with beans and rice. It was good. Friends got cheese enchiladas with mole and loved it. One of the friends is Mexican and she said it was as good as back home. Another friend got a salad that he complained about being different from last time. Not sure how to rate that. It was really comfortable to be nice and loud there. The servers were so kind and attentive. read more

There are several TVs in the bar area. There's a Yelp check in offer and Groupon was kind enough to send me an email saying I missed out on 30% cash back so, check there too so you can earn cash for eating! They have a happy hour menu worth checking out. The chips and salsa were standard, I only liked the green salsa. We got the ground beef quesadilla and it was nothing special, something you could make at home. I ordered the enchiladas del mar. The scallops were tough and chewy. My bf ordered this shrimp a la diabla. The rice was good, not dry. The beans tasted watery and bland, like they forgot the lard and jalapeno. Long time resident of San Leandro. I have seen Titos forever and decided to try it out with our neighbors. Wow. Like the other comment I tried chili colorado and it did not look like my favorite meal or taste like it. Beef with a sauce on it. Small salad, that was the best in the meal. No beans. Rice was like Uncle Ben with a tomato sauce. Restaurant inside made you feel like you were in a authentic Mexican restaurant. Food needs to be better. read more
