Yelp review #13 of 2025 I dropped in around 4:30 p.m. on Friday, March 14th. I haven't had Titos since around 2018. I spoke with the cashier, who's worked at the El Monte location for a few years. The place has a really cool vibe. It is still run by Brandon, who is the third generation of this family-owned business. I still remember the original corner store in El Monte, and this is a long time coming at least a good 40 to 50 years. Very glad that this location opened, and for them having a presence here in Monrovia. Makes it easier for me to get my nostalgia submarine sandwich when I drive in from Vegas. The interior is a little bit rough, however, they're pending new construction and permits yet operating as a soft opening so they can make that happen. Getting the door open was a bit tough, but still able to get in. One of the pro about this location is that it's open till 8 PM compared to 5:30 PM at the original location. read more

Tito's in Monrovia, just like the original in El Monte but less crowded. Not a market, but focused on their empanadas and sandwiches. Not a large place , but there are a few tables inside for indoor service. We did to go and the ordering is straightforward - look at the menu, order at the counter, and wait for the order to be completed. We had their beef, chicken, and cheese empanadas and they were delicious- just like the originals in El Monte. We also got a couple of their sandwiches (hit and cold) and a pound of their spicy chicken wings. Everything was very good. Didn't have a chance to take pics since we ate in the car. Not quite sure I understand the hype but maybe their sandwiches are better. Although, looking around, it only looked ok. Maybe it is popular simply for their prices. We got the chicken empanada, beef empanada, and waffle fries. The fries were awful, soggy and only warm. The empanadas were good but nothing to rave about - maybe it's me. The restaurant is smaller than the market they have in El Monte. There's' a couple of booths inside along with a couple tables outside. The staff is nice and helpful The menu consists of the famous empanadas and sandwiches. I ordered 2 dozen empanadas and a few sandwiches . I was hoping to try the albondigas sandwich, but it was not available. It was my first time trying the sandwiches and maybe I didn't get the right ones? The sandwiches were just ok. We've been excited to try Tito's as this location is closer to home. It's their soft opening and we came late evening on a Saturday night. We ordered each of their empanadas to try: cheese, chicken and beef. We also ordered their ribeye steak with their jalapeno relish on the side, thinking the jalapeno were the regular whole jalapenos.. but it's a relish and the relish brings so much flavor to the sandwich, the pickling brings it a bit of sour, salty and tangy taste with a slight kick. Recently discovered that Tito's opened up a second location near my work so I decided to stop by on a Tuesday at 1pm. If anyone knows anything about Tito's on El Monte it's that you're going to wait 10-30 minutes just to place your order due to the amount of people that visit the original location, my wait time was 30 seconds to place the order. I ordered the classic Milanese sandwich and it was just like the one in El Monte. You're not going to get the market or the Carneceria section in Monrovia so please note that this is strictly food. If you know Tito's you know the food speaks for itself so there is no point of mentioning that on this post. I am sure the word is going to get out that they are here and I hope it does because they needed a second location and we have to make sure to support them. Yes, the same Tito's market as the one in El Monte! Their soft opening!! I was looking on their website for menu items and found their "new" location posted on their website! This one beats waiting in line! But talking to the staff, there was a line earlier, that I got lucky! It's still pretty packed in there. There's like 6 tables inside, 2 outside. I got the beef empanadas and chicken. Then the rib eye sandwich. These empanadas are huge!!! But the best part is the olive! Beef was good, but the chicken was better today. More flavor than the beef. But both are great! I was torn between the milanesa or the rib eye. Cashier told me rib eye, that I wouldn't regret it! That I did not!!! The sesame bread is nice n toasy, grilled onions galore, gooey cheese and tomoatoes! I asked got the jalapeno on the side. Iits more a jalapeno relish, but it's what puts the sandwich up a next level! I would love the milanesa, but personally, breaded and fried is not my style. Let me preface this by saying I have been a Tito's patron for over 30 years (obviously mostly the El Monte location) Since the Monrovia location opened, today would be my 2nd visit. I ordered a large submarine sandwich and based on photos others have posted compared to the one I'm sharing today, there is a significant difference. Wow! Tito's in Monrovia. First things first lets chat a bout the food for a minute yum! The food was the same ole Tito's I grew up from El Monte. The empanada's taste fresh and tangy but, out of the 8 we purchases 6 didn't have the olive! FAIL! .... We ordered the Chicken Milanese its was tasty but the meat was almost paper thin not like the El Monte store. We had a steak Milanese as well it was the same. The meat was paper thin but they did give us a couple of slices of it in each sandwich which made up for it. I would recommend this place only a few notes I have for the manager of this location. It's a very small easy to miss shop, one because the sign is temporary and the other because it's so small. But we found it. I had some mixed feelings before and after the meal. The menu is small and only exists on their counter and the was a section on the bottom torn off and a number of cross-outs. The setting is okay but very small they only have seating for maybe 20?. The space is narrow and only gives them room for a small deli style refrigeration case with only drinks displayed. What I didn't like about the place is they have about 5 people working 3 women and 2 men and the floor was dirty and so was the baseboard. I recommend - Menu's. .07cents a copy at Office Depot., ‍ Also you can pick up a mop there. Soap and water will get rid of the dirt. There seemed to be a small but consistant line someone shouls be cleaning up after the clients. I wiped down my own table before we sat down it was full of crumbs. As I said I do recommend the place and plan to stop in again. If your close take a minute to enjoy a thinner milanesa than the Grinder but a much bigger and better empanada than the other two sellers on Myrtile. Enjoy! Service ***** Ambiance *** Food ****.
