Well the other reviews don't lie, if you want to get a top notch massage and actually fix your body, come here. Don't expect a relaxing spa experience. She is very kind and knowledgeable and really listens to your body. She uses her hands not her elbows . The day after my deep tissue massage I was sore like I had a good gym workout the previous day but then the day after, my body felt better than it has in years. I'm going to try and make this a once a month experience as part of a balanced healthcare regimen. Pros: very flexible hours, often same day appointments, lots of experience, works really hard and caters to your specific needs, very reasonable pricing cons: zero ambiance, the place is VERY dingy, not sure about hygiene (you get what you pay for!), very chatty in the beginning. As another reviewer warned, she fell asleep while massaging me. I don't blame her, she works really really hard. But still, falling asleep while massaging a client? Does she even remember the sequence of her massages? Does she remember my trigger spots and needs after dozing off? I don't know. Overall, given that she fell asleep, I would say she's alright. What an incredible experience! We were looking for a massage therapy for my children because they do year round competitive sport. My children complained some muscle pain and soreness. Luckily my wife found Tiya on the very last page here. We decided to give a try and it was incredible. It's better than our expectation. She found many problems and fixed them all. My kids now get stronger and faster due to the fact that their muscles are healthy. My wife also had problem on her back and leg. She also decided to try and it was very good. She had her chiropractor to adjust her bone alignment but her muscle got used to the bad position so Tiya fixed it. It's amazing how my wife walked with normal posture back home without grabbing her hamstring. Then I decided to try too because I spend lot of time driving. My right legs and glute feel pain from stepping on gas and brake pedals in traffic. Tiya did deep massage and it's painful but I feel really good after the session. I may have to see her every once in a while due to the driving. She also fixed my shoulder that got injured in snowboard crash a year ago. My shoulder will need more time to heal since the injury happened a year ago. At least I found Tiya to help me. If you have any issue with your body, you should see her quickly. Don't wait like me. It's been a little less than a year since I last saw Tiya (with two kids, I've been busy). The last three months have been intense for me, especially physically. I am at the gym before the sun is out 6 times a week and twice a week I go to the gym twice a day. It's taken a toll on my body. Well, Tiya did it again. She relieved the discomfort I was feeling in my shoulders and was able to pinpoint exactly where my tension spots were. I just finished my 2nd session with Tiya last week. I work out a lot and have proven time and again that I can be a jackass and overdo it. Tiya fixed my back after our first session. After reinjuring myself a week later, I tried a different massage shop (Verde Touch) because Tiya was closed that Monday. The massage at Verde left my feeling even worse and strained in areas that I didn't have any problems before my session. I went back to Tiya that weekend and she undid the aggravations from my crappy massage at Verde Touch and I'll be heading there in a couple hours to get in a 3rd session (quickly setting into a weekly routine with TIya). The deep tissue massage with Tiya is great, but like any deep tissue massage you can expect it to be uncomfortable at times (e.g. IT bands are never fun). Tiya is great about pointing out trouble spots and fixing them before you leave. On top of that, she's not outrageously expensive like most other places that charge you 50%+ more than her and maybe give you 1/2 the results. I cannot recommend Tiya enough. Don't waste your time going to other places - just make an appointment with Tiya. read more

I've been going to Tiya for 2.5 years now, and I cannot live without her massages! I feel the most relief right after my deep tissue massages, and sleep better at night! Yes, you will feel the soreness of having your bunched up muscles smoothened out, and pressure points kneaded out, but all is worth it after your sore muscles recover 2 or 3 days later! Cannot say enough positive things about my experience with Tiya. After spending three weeks with neck, shoulder and lower back pain, I finally bit the bullet and went to go make an appt w a chiropractor. 2 doctors and 1 massage therapy session later, still no relief. Finally I went to Tiya's and after an hour long session, felt the relief I've been craving. No frills experience but I come for pain relief in a comfortable environment, no need for fancy schmancy bells and whistles. Beware - if relief is what you crave and you have a lot of tension, it will be painful at times, but all for a good result. Talking to Tiya and hearing her stories is also incredibly therapeutic. Only compliant is that I received a notice on my car (see photo) when I was parked in the designated lot behind the bldg. Perhaps they didn't think there would be anyone from the bldg parking there at 8p on a Sunday evening? Strange. Tiya has given me the best massages I've ever received. Here's my story: 7 months ago, I hurt my back in the gym and started to have pain standing and even putting on my socks. Imagine being a young athletic guy and having that happen to you. I went to several chiropractors, massage therapists, and physical therapists who all told me the usual "take it easy, don't work out, do these stretches" which NEVER worked. One therapist after a 20 minute assessment even told me that my hip ligaments were permanently damaged and that I would suffer those symptoms for the rest of my life. Enter Tia. On a whim, I was looking for massage therapists who do trigger point therapy and found her number. After the first session I had with her, I knew that something had definitely changed in my body. My lower back wasn't constricting in the same way. But, because I had the injury for so long, I was a little apprehensive and booked a few more sessions over the next week. Just came back from a deep tissue Tiya healing session and I feel great! I've been going to Tiya once in a while as needed and always feel good afterward - unchanged since my last review. However, this time I feel like I have to write another review... Yesterday, unexpectedly, I felt my upper back, neck and shoulders start locking up gradually and steadily throughout the evening. Feeling the discomfort, I tried to roll it out with my trusty rumble roller and went to bed early to try and relax it. It didn't work... 4am I woke up with an immensely painful yet stiff neck and back! I could not move. At that point, I was tired enough that I thought I would try and sleep it off. Perhaps I managed to escape Medusa's glare, but wasn't quick enough and it still got me in the back during my escape. By morning, I could barely move my head nor get out of bed! The only way I could get up was to grab the back of my neck, support it and then slowly roll out of bed. Desperate, I reached out to Tiya thinking that if she was too busy, I would have to find someone else to help me. Thank goodness Tiya was able to fit me in today! Tiya meticulously, yet skillfully worked on the trouble area for the entire session. I left feeling much better and had a little bit more motion in my neck. As I'm writing this review, the stiffness continues to melt away and I've regained most of my motion in my neck, feeling much better and immensely glad Tiya was around to save the day! read more

I had the deep tissue massage. Clearly a highly skilled therapist. Knows her anatomy, and from the first moment she laid hands on me I knew she knew how to massage. Strong mastery of deep tissue techniques, graston/friction massage (she doesn't use a tool just her hands and arms), Swedish, and stretching/mobilization. Extremely gifted at finding trigger points and producing release. I honestly don't know how she finds the trigger point so quickly and stays on top of it as it moves, she really "cuts" and "planes" into the muscle belly well. This will probably be a painful massage, but it will be healing as well. This is a place for body work, not pampering. Clean and professional, if a unique personality. This is more of a "tell the masseuse your problems let her decide how to massage you" experience. She is very good and knows what she's doing. Will be returning. I would recommend bringing your own water bottle if you get thirsty after massage, as the ones she has are quite small. read more

I have been to Tiya's twice. Both time I had deep tissue massages. My body was experiencing a lot of tension around the neck, shoulder, arms and legs while caring for a love one at the hospital for a week. It was so discomforting that I had a hard time fall asleep at night. Throughout the session, I kid you not that I was constantly making noise from the pain. Unlike others who would just "make it comfortable" and deviated from the deep tissue, Tiya was very professional and continue to encourage me and adjust her strength throughout the session. She assure me that in two days I will feel a lot better. And she was absolute right! I will definitely return to Tiya's place again. One thing to keep in mind is that this is not your typical get pamper decorative place. The room is very minimal. Instead of the AC, Tiya has a fan on all time. I am sometimes bother by the fan and asked Tiya to adjust it. That being said, the facility works great for me as I rather pay for the service than the interior design. read more

My husband found Tiya first over a year ago, when he was struggling with the symptoms of a frozen shoulder. Somehow Tiya fixed him in two sessions. I decided to give Tiya a try earlier this year as I was experiencing tightness in my shoulder and back and just couldn't shake it with my regular massage treatments. Tiya was strong, sensed my problem areas right away, and worked her way through the tight spots (as well as the trigger points). I've enjoyed her so much that I brought my child to see her as well. And yes, I had read the reviews before seeing Tiya, and thought she had fallen asleep on me during my first session as well. I actually asked her if she was asleep, and she explained that she was drained from my blocked energy pathways (and often had to snap her fingers to clear the blocks). I believed her and saw her consistently slow down at my blocked spots during the first and the next few sessions, and I felt better after she 'cleared my blocks.' English is not Tiya's first language and understandably I could see why some reviewers might view her as not being as polished as she should have been. Tiya is direct, friendly and surely no frills. Her place is not big but very clean and quiet. I agree with all the 5-star reviews, and I plan to return on a regular basis. Please give Tiya a try if you are suffering with pain. She does know what she is doing. To me, she is more of a healer than a massage therapist. read more

I can't recommend Tiya enough. She is very knowledgeable about pressure points/trigger points, some of which have haunted me for years.
