Got the combo massage (30 min foot, 30 minute body) which was $50 + $5 additional charge for credit card payment. It was more like 10 minutes on the feet and 50 minutes on the rest of the body. This massage was half clothed. My masseuse had me remove my top and wear a spa wrap garment, covering my upper body but open on the back. The shared massage room had four beds total with curtains that could separate the individual spaces to make them more private. The environment was dimly lit with soothing melodies playing in the background. The pressure during my treatment was good, on the strong side as requested, with the use of hot stones, heated pads, and ashiatsu. I was surprised to find they do back walking in the shared room, but I don't mind a variety of techniques being used as long as it's effective. I honestly don't need all the extras (like burning stones and fancy coverings), just a simple massage focused on loosening my knots. And my masseuse did that for the most part, though she was more successful when using her elbows and forearms. Staff was friendly here too, even with limited communication. Overall, I had a positive experience.

The first time I went to her, she was good and the massage was good. The following times, she fell asleep during every time. About 15 minutes into the massage, her hands stop almost stop moving and when I looked up (I was on my back), her Eyes were closed as if she was asleep. Very unprofessional according to me. Also, she was very rude when I asked for more pressure, she said (Word for Word): "You are destroying my hands, I cannot do this all the time".. I was shocked someone would say so. What can I say - it is only a matter of time until you will see why you shouldn t go back to her. Falling asleep when her clients are paying her is very unprofessional, and as I mentioned, she can be very short and rude. I would not recommend this. A massage should be invigorating and relaxing but after the fourth time trying her, I decided she wouldn t change and didn t want to waste my money anymore and spend it on someone that is actually professional. read more

I am 51 years old and drive plenty of miles commuting and the one thing I do for myself is get a monthly massage. When I travel to the Bay Area I never leave without calling Tiya and her magical Fijian hands. I am not kidding here. When I get off the table after a 2 hour secession, I feel like I had a spiritial experience in mind-body and soul . I feel more balanced and this feeling holds for at least a week after, I even sleep better and have happy dreams! Tiya seems to have a good sence of what is out of balance with the human body and knows just where to apply the pressure to balance it back into shape. I believe Tiya is one of the best massage therapists in South Bay. I am a tightly wound person and all my muscles around my neck, shoulder and mid-back are always very tight. I have been trying various massage places claiming to get rid of my tightness. I tried Tiya for the first time about a year ago. From the very first session, I knew that Tiya knows what she is doing. Her technique is very different from others who try to use elbows and extreme pressure to relieve tightness. She does it methodically with small strokes which gets me to relax. This was the best massage I have every had. I have been traveling like an insane person, flew in yesterday from Philadelphia, landed at 1 pm for meetings and I could hardly move. The Grand Hotel helped me find Tia. I had a 90 minute deep tissue massage this afternoon and back out on the redeye tonight. I can actually move and breathe. So yes it was painful, but so worth it. I am also a nurse and should know better that to let things get this bad. Its not fancy, but Tiya knows exactly what she is doing. I would actually fly 3000 miles back to see her. I have seen Tiya for a week now and she is amazing .her healing hands and her flexible hours gets me in the same day. My migraine is cured and I was her 7th client still she had the same energy and strength from beginning to end. Tiya deserves the highest recommendation, in my opinion. I've had back problems for over 10 years following an accident in which I suffered several compression fractures in the vertebrae. Most massage places just rub everyone the same way. Tiya is different--by touch, she can tell where your body is tense or hurt or misaligned, and she knows how to fix these problems. This was enough to outweigh the good for me personally, and made me leave to search for a better fit for me personally. I saw Stacey a while ago (I'm way behind on my Yelp reviews) for therapeutic massage. PROS: Stacey is clearly a super talented massage therapist who is passionate about her work and her business. I was impressed by her intuition for the human body, her use of massage techniques and tools that I had never seen before but that had a huge therapeutic payoff, and her creativity in approaching massage problem-solving. I noticed a big and tangible difference in my body post-session. CONS: Stacey is definitely a talker and is super chatty, whether or not you feel like talking during your session. I'm more used to massage therapists who have quiet sessions, ask the clients whether or not they want to talk or would like a quiet session, or are better at picking up at signals as to whether or not a client wants to be talking, and letting the client lead whether or not there is conversation during the session. She definitely spent some time venting to me about politics, her life, her partner, etc -- all the venting can make for a super draining and exhausting massage. I found this unprofessional and inappropriate to vent to a client during their session - which is supposed to be entirely about the client and the client's needs, not a therapist's need to talk and to vent to a captive audience (the immobile client). I found the session vibe to be negative at times (not what you want for an expensive massage!) and unpleasant and draining and exhausting. This was enough to outweigh the good for me personally, because I had a hard time going back to work afterwards because I was so drained and exhausted. So it made me leave to search for a better fit for me personally. Stacey's definitely a super talented massage therapist though, with such tangible improvements to clients' bodies -- so if she became more aware of the fact that clients don't want to be vented at during their massage session and that clients may not want to talk during their massage session, she could definitely become a 5-star massage therapist.
