Man Chris in his own words says you can mess up your own hair at home. He does his job and gives me fresh fades. Every time I go in looking rough he brings me back. Its a cool shop to just chop it up with the fellas. The barbers are hilarious and will roast you if you get out line and think you got jokes. They usually have the games on so its laid back. This place was VERY unprofessional. I took my brother in to get a haircut and it was all bad. I couldn't tell who actually worked there, everyone was cursing, talking about marijuana cookies, and stating that they were all high while cutting hair !!!! We thought we would see how the hair cut turned out so we waited. The lines of the cut were nice, but the next day my brother had about 10 cuts all around his hair line ! This place is a joke. The owner does a good job at cutting hair but a terrible job of running a business! This place is not reliable at all. You can show up on any given day during business hrs and half of time the place will be closed. You have to call ahead to check if they're open and even then you are likely to waste your time driving up there. Why? Cause apparently the owner changed his mind and just felt like closing up shop. This isn't something that's happened once but rather on several occasions. No place is that good that you need to put up with that bulls**t. Save your time and money! read more

Walk-in - First Timer. This is a real barbershop and the treatment and cut were excellent. Ray did my right and the price was far below what I expected to pay. I ended up at TJ Fades because about an hour before I walked into the shop I was at another barbershop (The Parlor) in Concord, CA, sitting in the chair about to get my hair cut.... WHEN... A lady with a badge came in the front door and the guy about to cut my hair - drops the clippers, says "I'll have to get ya later" and ran out the front door. Yes - He didn't have a license. So I sat in the chair for a few minutes then took the apron off and went on my way. I remembered seeing TJ Fades painted window when I went to breakfast at Min's next door. So I thought what the hell... I'll give them a try. Finally a decent shop with a crew of decent guys that know what they're doing. And doing right. Look them up. read more

A low-key barbershop that's tucked away in the TJ Maxx Shopping Center. Located next to the Laundromat. The hours can vary, but it's usually open 7 days a week and is open late (past 7pm) on most nights. Cuts are around $15. They have several barbers on a rotating schedule, but there's usually at least 2 or 3 there ready to give you a cut on a given day. Great spot to get a sharp taper or nice, clean fade while listening to some good music. There's also a beauty salon in the back, but I'm not too familiar with their services. read more

Best hair cut ever. I can't recommend this establishment highly enough. Friendly people, relaxed environment, two televisions and comfortable seating while you wait. Don't waste your money at one of those chains, try TJ's Fades and you'll never go anywhere else again. read more

If you want a review here it is. If you aren't Black dont go here. Worst haircuts hands down in Concord. I'm not going to bash anyone specifically. But you can honestly find 5 to 10 better barber shops in the area. Its not the shop its the barbers that are absolutely terrible. read more

The new is shop is wonderful ! It's large and roomy and bright ! The Barbers are dressed professionally and behave as such. There is also a Beauty Shop in the rear for the women (quite separate). The haircuts are GREAT! The air is fresh and smoke free. All different types, races, sex, etc were sitting together waiting patiently for their cut. The place is also very "kid friendly". read more

This place messed up my hair. I asked to keep it a little bit long on the top and they basically gave me a buzz cut.

don't matter if you get Chris or TJ, the cut is always clean, and you'll always get lined up straight. $10 tuesdays are cool if you're on a budget, but i always come in on friday so i can avoid that line. read more

This has to be the best barbershop for the working professional, all other barbershop are closed before I even leave SF. But this one is still open at 8 PM when I get home. Plus its great to know there is a place I count on to get touch up on a Sunday or Monday for the those early week meetings. Now I don't waste a Saturday in a crowded barber shop like I use too. Went here once, or so, thought it was ok. Barber was Chris. Only reason I went here was because it fit my schedule, in other words, they were open late. Initially a 3.5 out of 5, but, just called right now to ask what time they closed, whoever picked up phone told me they closed at 9 (wasnt sure the exact time they closed, just knew open later than most). I then asked if they were busy, to which the person on the line responded "We close at 9 man" and hung up. Called back as I didnt think he had done it on purpose, asked again if they were busy, same person picked up phone and responded all irritated "Man, why you keep askin me that, I told you, we close at 9, if you wanna wait, wait if not..." didnt hear the rest as he hung up quick. Anyways, it was pretty bad, long story short, called up all my boys, told em bout what eent down, we're done with the place and none of us going back. I'm sure they'll spread the word, quick. Try The Parlor in DT Concord, or Ace of Fades in Antioch. Much better customer service. For some reason businesses seem to think they're invincible, or end up hiring the wrong people.
