I asked if I could be helped at self-checkout and was told I had to use the main checkout lane. I then went to the exchange/returns counter to see if they could assist, but was again told no and directed back to the same long line. This was confusing, especially since I've been helped at both self-checkout and the exchange counter in the past. I understand that there are policies in place, but the current setup doesn't seem efficient or customer-focused. It would make more sense to allocate staff where they're most needed, especially during busy times, to better serve customers and reduce long wait times. Because of this experience, it honestly feels more convenient to shop online rather than deal with in-store inefficiencies.

Over this last year I've been here at least 5 times and more often than not I've left impressed. I would definitely come to this Walmart over my location city Walmart. The one in my city is really challenging to park in as the lot is always super busy and they are short staffed. Not at this newbury park location though! My biggest pro of this store is they seem to always have multiple registers open. I am so grateful for this. If they are busy they are busy but it feels a lot better seeing 3-4 registers open most times I come compared to 1-2 at my local store. I also appreciate this store as it's pretty clean and organized. I can often times find staff stocking and in the isles if needed. Also as I mentioned above, good parking! The reason I docked a star is primarily because of quality of some items and quantity. Their meat department isn't my favorite nor their deli. Again, I'm a little picky with groceries so that's why this isn't my regular weekly go to spot. But I'm happy that when I'm in a pinch or need a few items, I can count on this store to have what I need and to be able to get in and out of here without hassle.

I came into the store hoping they could order me a smaller size, but it wasn't available. Sharen stepped in to help and brought out the seamstress, Zohreh, and I'm so glad she did. These were expensive pants (around $1k), so I really wanted them to fit perfectly. I really did not want to return them. Zohreh was incredibly knowledgeable, patient, and such a pleasure to be around. I mentioned I had a special event coming up, and she reassured me she could have the alterations done in time. I've been to several other Nordstrom locations before, but this one was by far the most pleasant experience I've had. Everyone was so warm, helpful, and accommodating, and the whole experience was just wonderful. I'm so glad I didn't have to return the pants. Really grateful for the amazing customer service from both Sharen and Zohreh.

When I returned to the store to process a return, the experience was disappointing. The associate inspected the pants, smelled them, and stated they had been washed, then refused the return. This was both uncomfortable and frustrating, especially since the items were simply tried on for fit at home and not worn. I understand that stores have policies in place, but the handling of this situation felt unnecessarily dismissive. A more professional and customer-focused approach would have gone a long way. Most customers won't take the time to leave a review--they'll simply choose not to return. With so many convenient online options available, in-store experiences need to justify the trip. I had to make some noise for him to wake up so he could ring me up. What the heck?! I get the place was empty, but sleeping on the job???
