I come here often to satisfy my candle addiction. Some consistent negatives of this place: furniture blocking large areas of the store as well as employees blocking other areas with huge carts restocking items. Good luck to you if you need to navigate the store with a cart. Also it is common to see multiple items broken, scratched, or dirty and NOT discounted and covering other items. Currently they have wayyyy too many aisles dedicated to Halloween and the rest of their inventory is stacked up and crushed with no organization. Customer service is usually pretty good, however there was a woman who had a nasty attitude with me the other day for no reason except perhaps she hates her job? Life? Customers in general? (Dark damaged hair, heavy makeup, oluve complexion, suit jacket, white shirt, and _itch_ as @#$#!!) Spoke with a nasal tone full of distaste. The pros: Location and selection (though I can never find cute shoes in size 5.5). The Cons: Long lines like you'd find at the amusement park and the aisles are so small you'd get stuck trying to push your cart through! I would've given this place another star but every time I visit this place, the cashiers always irk me the wrong way! They see they've got a long A$$ line but they take their time to put return items away, they hang up the hangers and they have their little conversations. I realize that they must have their conversations to keep themselves entertained but not when it's interfering with getting people out! I frequently shop at this TJ Maxx/Home Goods location, but never felt the need to write a review. Usually, this location is decently organized (unless you come here on Black Friday when it looks like the Apocalypse hit); customer service is friendly, and they have a huge selection of clothing, accessories, home decor, etc. I felt this store deserved a review due to their friendly and accommodating customer service. Last week, I found a Free People dress for $40 (originally $118). The dress had a minor hole in the back. I brought this issue to the cashier's attention, to which he and his supervisor gave me a $5 discount for the minor damage. On another occasion, an employee pointed out a small scratch on a glass jar I was purchasing, and gave me %10 off. How great is that? Additionally, this location has really elevated their selection of designer clothing! Almost two weeks ago, I found a $400 Tory Burch dress on sale for $180 (not in my size, of course); I also found Equipment blouses for around $100, and an Emilio Pucci blouse for $150 (originally $500). Though I never purchased these items, I was shocked to find such high-end labels. This location also carries a decent selection of Hudson, Paige, Joe's Jeans, and J Brand denim. read more

So im giving this 2 stars because of the questionable selection of shoes and for poor customer service. So I was in a bind. I needed an emergency pair of dress shoes for myself and I work close by. I have always found decent clothing/attire selections at other TJ max locations in the past. Its a convenient store and all in all I like it. However, when I came into this store I was surprised to see literally 8 different shelves of women's shoes and NOT A SINGLE PAIR of men's shoes. lol? I walked around for 5 minutes trying to locate the men's shoes. This store is HUGE by the way so I was sure I would find them somewhere. I could not find any employee's either but eventually found some old lady employee walking by with purple hair and asked her where the men's shoes were. She said, "We don't carry men's shoes" and abruptly turned around and started scurrying away as I stood dumbfounded. I stopped her and said, "Excuse me? Do you know where I might be able to find men's shoes near here?" and her response was, "I don't live here." and turned around and rushed off once more. Haven't been inside a TJ Maxx since 1998. From what I could remember, I thought this place just sold cheap clothes. I was looking online for a seat cover since my husky was making my backseat look like a shag carpet when my lady suggested I try TJ Maxx. My initial reaction was "Whaaatttt?" I didn't know they sold stuff like that here. We made the trip here and lo and behold they have a buttload of stuff here besides clothing. I found a nice backseat cover that I liked but it didn't have a box or any sort of price tag. I went up to the cashier and they were dumbfounded as well. After some bargaining, the guy decided to give it to me for 10 bucks when I checked online and the same cover, would've costed me 40 bucks brand new. That my friend is a win. read more

TJ Max is a chain that does not deserve a yelp review since it doesn't need one - but my enthusiasm for TJ Max cannot be contained. This place rules!!! Most my clothing and purses are from TJ Max and recently some home decor items. Once you find nice clothese for 1/3 the price dept stores, it is almost impossible to go to full price stores - unless there is a sale, or you don't feel like trying on a million things to find the right fit/style. I am a fan of this TJ Maxx/Homestore. It always has a great selection of kitchen gadgets and cookbooks for me to browse through. However, the HUGE fault I find with this store is with the purse selection. They are crammed on tables, hooks, you name it and they get damaged....and the majority are starting to cost between $150 and $300. If I spend that much on a purse I want it to be well taken care of...not scratched by other purses, kicked on the floor by other shoppers and generally not taken care of. read more

Whenever I need a gift for someone and I have no idea what to get I pretty much always find myself here. The purse and shoe selection are great and there are plenty of each type of shoe in each size so you don't have to fight for that one pair of nude heels. When they say home goods they freakin mean HOME GOODS. As in the most awesome decor for your HOME!!! Its amazing in there. Also it is THE CLEANEST AND NICEST TJ Maxx I've ever been to. About a third of the store is home goods and the other 2/3 is clothes, shoes, accesories and ect. I wasnt looking for home goods but I was looking for some cute comfy sandals to bring to Maui. Which I found for the amazing price of $10.93. I was also looking for a cute sundress to bring but alas i found nothing that fit unless my torso was shorter or I wanted to go braless/look tacky. Oh well. The dressing rooms are nicer than Macy's and Nordstroms, the associates are friendly and helpful, the bathroom is clean and odorless. Good selection of everything except for Dresses in a size 9 and shoes in a size 10 or 11. This is for short tiny people, which I am not. read more

WOW, this is the best TJ Maxx I have ever been to. I came here yesterday with my husband. We came in and all I saw were rows and rows of stuff. I mean STUFF! Everything under the sun! Large carpets, medicine cabinets, sun glasses, steep stools, clothing, shoes, chairs, art work, and everything else that you may need for your home. The store it self is large and clean. All of the items are arranged well in the spot were they should be. In the jewelry section I saw watches by Movado, Ferragamo, and Gucci just to name a few. I wound up buying Calphalon 12 inch skillet for 40 dollars. I bought one at Macys for 90 dollars on sale! I also bought a pair of Kate Spade sunglasses for 40 dollars unusually it normally cost 120 dollars. There was another pair of sunglasses by Cole Haan that were on 20 dollars. I had to pass on them. During the summer I saw them for 75 dollars. The best place to shop for the house. read more

This retail store is like a knick knack store. A little bit of this and a little bit of that, but really nothing good or interesting. This whole mall area kinda sucked to be honest. I was in a bind because I was on a trip when I had a family emergency and had to fly to my hometown. I needed something to wear, outside of my uniform and my workout clothes, which is generally all I take in my roller bags when I am traveling for work. I looked for about 45 minutes before opting on a windbreaker to simply cover up my workup gear more appropriately. I did find some sale bras, but I couldn't even get a pair of shoes in my size (which is quite common), and they were so overpriced. Not good. I have never missed Nordstrom Rack so much. In regards to the Home Goods side - tons of stuff!! If I lived in this area, I would buy stuff for my home all the time. But, I don't :( read more

I bought utensils here because I needed extras that wasn't too fancy in case i ran out but not cheesy either. It was nice to use & did its job however, after I finally opened it and washed it approx 3 times in the dishwasher, it started to rust. Who wants to use a rusty utensils. I brought it back to TJ Maxx (specifically here where I had bought the item) to exchange or return...whatever is easier. Of course it was more than 30 days because I didn't open the item until I had to use it. The store manager (Tony or Paul, I forget which) intervened after I had told him that it was rusting. He literally had me show him which of the spoons, forks & knife were rusting, like I was lying !!! He had the worst attitude. All I wanted was an exchange or credit, I said. HE responded, policy is policy & we cant take those back. I was like really ?!?! so would you use a rusty utensil ?!!! He looked at me & said, MAM ALL I'M TRYING TO DO IS HELP YOU... really store manager, how? He said with an attitude that I will get store credit... isn't that what I said before !!! DUMB A** !!! Not my favorite TJ Maxx. Don't like the mix with Home Goods, it is a hybrid and not liking it. Could not find my favorite olives (as in other stores) at the gourmet section (mostly pasta). Good selection of olive oils and vinegars plus pastas, but pretty much it. Tons of Godiva chocolates at a good price. Bought some items for my new apartment, but my idea was to get some clothing and did not find anything particularly attractive or good priced at this location. read more

I like this TJ Maxx - I always seem to find things here (things I need and DON"T need!). It's dangerous shopping here with my b/f - he always finds such good deals that I can't pass up. I end up telling him that I'm going to the check out stand before he finds any more stuff. Sometimes you have to dig around to find what you want, but it's not as bad as other TJ Maxx stores I've been to. This store is better organized than other locations that I've visited. read more

I went to TJ Max to return an item. There must have been a manager who was standing around. He had walked over to the scheduling and had ignored me for 5 minutes. I can see him glancing over his shoulder but purposefully ignoring me. Then an associate went up to the counter named Natalie and she didn't ask me if I needed assistance or anything. Then after being ignored, i asked the associate who was at cashier #2 if I needed to go in line. The associate at register #2 named Seth only spoke to me only I initiated conversation. I was standing by register #1 with a item and receipt in my hand. This store needs better training from the manager to the cashiers. read more

It's fun to just stroll around here when you're killing time before watching your movie at the theaters. Still my girlfriend and I found some killer deals on a few things here. They have a great selection of home goods and really low prices like pillows, bed sheets, and funky decor. For you women out there you can get designer brands in the jewelery department. I saw a Gucci and Movado watch for 70% off. As a man I don't see myself shopping here whatsoever but if I for some reason need some inexpensive home furniture or wicker baskets, I will know where to go. The staff is almost non existent and I wish they'd tidy the place up a bit more as it does have some funky odors in certain places. read more

Terrible customer service. They would repeat on the public announcement system every 5 minutes that they would be closing within the next half hour up until 8pm. By 8:03pm (ONLY 3 minutes after the store closed) a lady wearing black with long black hair (I think she was a manager) was demanding that every person in the store needs to leave if they were not purchasing something. Also, a young man tried to come in the store to use their restroom 5 minutes before the store closed and the same lady made it a big deal telling him he couldn't come in. Their attitudes lost the company a lot of money and I will not be returning. Corporate should step in and hire better managers that help their customers feel welcome. If they must ask a customer to leave after the store closes a better attitude would be much more appropriate. read more

This is the biggest TJ in the South bay with the biggest Home department I have ever seen. If you are looking for household items I would definitely pay a visit to this location. I love bargain shopping and this is one of the places I checkout frequently. read more

This place is AWESOME. It's like an upgraded Marshalls. I got jeggings here when they just started getting in style for $15! I didn't even know what jeggings were! Honestly, this place has everything from home decor to clothes to shoes. They actually have great shoe brands and all their clothes are really organized. It takes me a LONG TIME to get through everything. I told my hubby he really needed shorts (I couldn't stand his weird capri-like pants) so I convinced him to shop with me. He found 2 pairs of Volcom shorts for $20 each and a stylish brand name button up for $10. I got a pair of jeggings, 2 shirts, and a cardigan. For all of our merchandise, the total was $80! It's amazing how TJ Maxx can get clothing that is currently in style, not last season and sell it for an affordable price. So I went to return some jewelry that I bought for gifting and never did, brand new wig the receipt, when the sales associate pointed out to me that it was over 30 days and there is Apparently a stamp...that I never saw and was not explained about at the time of purchase, saying that I can't return after 30 days. While the store wide policy states that you may return jewelry after 30 days with or without receipt for a store credit. Imagine my disappointment. I called customer service and was explained that this is under discretion of the district manager. Hello district manager, this rule is RIDICULES!!! Hmm, State Law vs Federal Law... I have not had as much luck with here with discount men's clothing as I have at Marshalls, but they do have a decent selection. I come here with my mom and she always finds good stuff like furniture and kitchen items, and will often find good women's stuff too. They had wetsuits the last time I was here! read more

Kitchenware, Pictures, Art work, Dishes, Glasses, Garden Stuff, Furniture, Bath Stuff...lots. Also, the luggage section has a HUGE selection. Selections with not much: shoes, socks. I walked into TJ Maxx with a particular item in mind: an inexpensive black clutch purse that could fit a wallet, iPhone, keys, and lip gloss. I would have gone to Ross or Marshalls since things tend to be cheaper at those locations, but the traffic going towards Milpitas tends to be too heavy after 3pm. Fortunately, I was able to find what I was looking for without too much hassle. The bag and luggage section is to the left as you enter. The clutch I picked was a Nine West at $20 marked down from $40. I also browsed around the store a bit, since the last time I had gone to this location was over five years ago. My sister, on the other hand, is a regular customer at TJ Maxx. She is constantly bringing home large bags filled with her purchases. I cannot really fault her for it either. This store has a lot of eye-catching items. Even walking to the register, I couldn't help but stop to browse the make-up section. I also couldn't help myself from picking up some nail polish, even though I already have a ton at home. All in all, TJ Maxx is a good place to get some bargains on designer items, but I still prefer the sister company Marshalls. read more

TJ Maxx is fun and generally more like treasure hunting than shopping at a regular store! I have been frequenting various TJ Maxx stores for many years, sometimes I find nothing, and other times I will fill a cart with great deals for the home. Usually I will find exactly what I need at great low prices. I also like the little gourmet food section, I usually find a nice jar of jam, or an olive oil there. One of the best TJ Maxx stores I've been to. This is a large store with quality products at a discounted price. Large array of brand name purses. I was able to find a few items that I've been looking for all in this store. There is enough room to walk around and not bump into others. They were adequately staffed and I was able to get through the check out line fairly quickly. The reason I had to take off a star is due to being overcharged by $40. Thankfully I caught it before I left the store. Otherwise, they would have gotten 5 stars. So, double check your receipt before you leave. read more

I absolutely love TJ Maxx and home goods products, but the after Christmas policies are sketchy at best. Yesterday I went in and purchased eight items, seven of which were Christmas and considered 50% off. After the sales clerk rang up all of the items at full price, I reminded her that each of the items were very obviously Christmas. She brought another checker over, and each item was scrutinized and questioned....for example, paper napkins that were obviously Christmas in nature, the design was questioned. After I explained every single item, they agreed they were all Christmas. This should not have been that difficult. I was contemplating a Christmas tree skirt and had decided against it, however I kept thinking about it and went back today to purchase it. I found four other items that were Christmas items and those were rung up correctly, because they were red tag items and the price was clearly evident. When we got to the Christmas tree skirt, she rang it up at full price. I brought that to her attention, and a manager was called....they adjusted the price, however they increased it by $20 instead of taking $20 off. My $40 something bill went up to $60 something and then they tried to fix it again and it went up to $80 something. At this point I asked them to void the transaction and start over. At that point they called someone else in and that person told me that they had just discontinued the 50% off. How sketchy is that. I offered to walk back to the rack because I knew that between the time I went up there to pay for my items, the 50% off signs had not come down. And of course I was right. I never have any issues at any other time during the year. I don't understand why this after Christmas thing is such a challenge. read more

This place needs MORE CASHIERS! I used to go on my lunch hour but the last 3 times I tried there have been at LEAST 25 people (usually 40 ) in line with only 2 cashiers working! I have walked out for the last time, now I will drive all the way to Almaden instead. Get it together TJ Maxx! I see employees just wandering around, and also managers talking to each other on the floor right in front of the line of 50 people and they do NOTHING! A good spot to find a good deal. I go to school at Mission, so I come by here whenever I have a moment to shop. I mostly buy jeans here. If you're lucky, you can get a pair for as low as $12. If you want common brands like Calvin Klein or Tommy Hilfiger, that might be difficult. I've been stopping by here for a year now, and have only been able to fine one pair of TH. It's not just jeans though. They have a bunch of items for pets to! There blanket for pets are better and cheaper than the ones at traditional pet stores. Overall, just go in to look, I'm 99% sure you'll find something you'll enjoy. read more

They need more cashiers, period. The lines just make me want to avoid shopping here. Purses, shoe and jewelry sections are good. The clothing section sucks! It's not organized at all. You have to be patient to go through these racks as it seems they never have the sizes in the right places. Really check your items too. Stuff falls to the floor and gets dirty, makeup stains and other random marks. Some things just don't come out in the wash. Have bought many a things there and very good prices. Just don't come when you are in a rush as you will definitely have to wait in line. read more

Definitely a great place for every little bit of something you need for the home and the family. I often come here and start from the front working my way to the back. I have a huge guilty pleasure of going to stores like this and marshalls to buy something useful and sometimes useless for the kitchen. I've always found great throw pillows for my sofa here and beautiful bathroom accessories and towels. I found a Hype clutch at this particular TJMaxx for $25. WHAT A STEAL!! The jewelry case is definitely something to look into. I've found great pieces in there, chunky, funky, and inexpensive. Working my way through the furniture and the housing department I find my self in the kids section. TJMAXX also has great children's furniture. Tables, chairs, storage bins with gingham on it. I buy my books from TJMaxx for my daughter. Although I dont get too much luck in finidng great clothes for the fam and I here; I have walked out with Ralph Lauren T's and Dresses for my little one. read more

Picked up a few toddler toys (big wooden beads, wooden alphabet magnets, etc) that I had my eye on at other stores, but found them here at much lower prices. Not sure if the Melissa & Doug items are available year-round or just during the holidays, but the store does have a huge selection of toys and books in general. read more

Usually TJ Maxx Home Goods have a good mix of apparel as well as home goods, but I found that this location had barely anything in terms of clothes. It was really disappointing!! The clothing section was incredibly unorganized -- I found the same tops in the juniors section as well as the ladies and there were incredibly slim pickings for the XS. Two items that I would have considered purchasing were on small racks with dissimilar pieces and not even the same brand -- what the heck. I wandered around and around the small women's section unable to find either of them anywhere else. I didn't have much luck in the shoe section either. The home selection looked promising, but I did not venture into those areas. The Home Goods in Almaden is better in terms of having a huge downstairs with home items as well as the upstairs fully dedicated to clothing and accessories. I stopped by this one with time to spare after work and before a dinner date in Santa Clara and have zero plans on the horizon of returning. Marshall's all the way (for clothes perusing). read more
