Clean, bright space. One of the largest color selections I have seen in awhile. Friendly and welcoming employees. Got a deluxe pedicure and it was along the lines of other salons in the area. Reasonably priced. The jets were not working in the tub but the massage chair was working fine. read more

I usually have Hana do my sets, she's always very friendly and kind. I visit every 2-3 weeks and the whole staff is very professional and polite. I get seated quickly and even at times with no appointment they make me feel like a priority when I step in. So apparently my post was removed because TJ Nails is now opened again on Sunday. My initial complaint was that I had a standing appointment every other Sunday. I went to my Sunday appointment only to find out they were closed. I went online to see if they changed their times and it said closed on Sundays. No one called to tell me that they weren't going to be opened on Sundays and to reschedule. I felt that this was poor customer service especially since me and my daughter had been going there for years. I stand by what I said TJ Nails doesn't have good customer service. I now go to a nail salon close to my house that has wonderful customer service and great prices. read more

I have fungus growing on 4 of my nails after 2 months of recent visits acrylic nails with gel polish. Tried to go in and talk with someone but the lady said this happens to her nails too, and that I probably left them on for too long. She offered to file them down and put something on them, but I don't trust this salon with the safety of my nails any longer. I visited on 4/4, 4/18, 4/25 and had a pedicure on 5/6. My nails DID NOT look like this prior to visiting this salon. I'm paying $70+ for nails every visit, to get a fungus. I've never in 20+ years of having my nails done experienced this. I went here to get a pedi for the first time, I picked this place because it was super close to my work. They got me in right away, everyone was nice. Overall the service was good. My issue is after the appointment, at 3 am I woke up and my big toe is completely swollen and was bleeding. I'm 3 days after and it's still in the same condition with a scab and throbbing pain. Called in on a whim on Veterans Day to get my nails done. A very nice day of pampering and they were able to fit me in for my Mani-Pedi! Very gentle hands did my fingers and toes, and I felt well taken care of. The massage chairs are your typical spa chairs at any nail place, but the real treat was the jostling that was my shoulder and neck massage, not for the faint of heart, but it sure did feel good. They were able to do my nails and toes with Gel polish that matched my natural tone, not clear coat, and I am very satisfied, more than 2 weeks later and the gel is mostly intact. I have only heard about this place from my cousins who frequent this place often, and I'm glad I finally checked it out, I will definitely be back again soon. read more

Yesterday I had a nail appointment with Tina and I did not like how my nails turned out. One of my nails already came off and she did not shape them how I wanted them nor did she add the gel correctly either. She had made a rude joke to me which I did not appreciate but had the audacity to tell her coworker in front of me and not only that but she made me bleed when she was filing my nails but did not even bother to apologize. I came to get a pedicure after work right at 6 pm, i thought my service was rushed by Hana , i asked to put tips on my toes when i came in, and i thought my service was not what i paid for such as a relaxing experience, customers came in as closing time came closer, my appointment was rushed , my tips were long on my toes, i did not get cuticle removed off my toes as that is my favorite part of my service, since i grow a lot of cuticle on them. I asked Hanna to remove them because they were not removed during my service she told me no because she put paint on them already. I also asked for my tips to be shorter and she said no as well. I felt like they do not care for customers but to get money in. I did not feel good during my service. They should care about the customers during their service and not rush through them to get the next person in. I know it would be a problem if i didn't pay for the service i didn't receive . I felt like i dropped my hard earned money tonight. Talk to your employees thank you. read more

Service has been great to me so far, they do an amazing job and have lots of different shades to choose from. Walk ins are welcome but if possible to avoid a long wait call in and make an appointment. I've loved all my sets here and I think prices are fair for the Federal way area. read more

Very disappointed with this place. First within an hour the polish on my nails was chipping. Within a day the polish on my toes began chipping. For $75 I expect better. On top of it all the tech who did my pedicure cut my toe and even though she tried to get it to stop bleeding and the tried to polish the nail on that toe it ended up getting screwed up by the cotton and bandage and I also have a cut on my toe. I decided to try a new place for a pedicure. This place is very nice and clean looking, which is a nice start. You have to check in electronically, which is quite cool. However, I noticed the older customers had a hard time with the technology, as well as the staff members. What I cannot get over is: THE TIMERS - literally a kitchen timer. When you select what pedicure you want, they will set a timer. The entire time, you just hear all the tickings from everyone's timer. Tick, tick, tick, tick, tick... then the annoying ring that follows when the time is up. It is so hard to relax with this constant ticking and ringing. The staff are super friendly and professional though. There was an extremely rude customer there, talking down to them, just being arrogant, but they all kept their cool. No one was talking about him in Vietnamese, they all complied with his requests. My pedicure was OK. The nails on my big toe were cut way too short, it's quite uncomfortable. Oh! She is sooo sweet and was concerned about me breaking my nails since I told her I was getting this set for my vacation trip, so she kept reminding me she was gonna make them a little extra thick so they wouldn't break :) I also noticed how much care and time she put into my nails. I have been here several times and questioned going this time, but location was convenient for my day. First, they continually up sell on their services, and they are pricey. Then, the woman that did my pedicure kept digging under my nail and I was in complete pain for nearly 10 minutes. When I got home I saw that it had bled and I had to use hydrogen peroxide & alcohol on it. I feel it may get infected. And after she painted my nails she put top coat on right away while they were wet & I saw some of the polish came off on a swipe and she just wiped it on a towel-didn't add more polish, so now the coverage is very thin and already coming off two days later! She failed to paint the tips off my toe nails and looking straight on, they do not look finished. To top it off, I also had a manicure and another younger woman did that at the same time as the pedi with me having to reach across my body to do my left hand. It was very uncomfortable and definitely not a relaxing 'spa' type atmosphere! And for this, I paid $75! I will be finding a new nail salon for next treatment for sure. read more

This is my new favorite go to place. We recently moved to Federal Way and were thrilled to find a good nails place. It's very clean. None of the dust or strong odor you find at some places. They do a great job with pedicure that's called "Fire Walker" and the acrylic set. Also a huge selection of colors. They're so friendly! read more

Been going to different nail shops here in federal way and I finally found a really good place. All the staff members are very welcoming. I've so far had Eric and Hannah as nail techs because I recently just found this nail shop. They're both really good. I usually book with Eric now, the picture I have here is by Eric. He's very nice and he's very good at what he does. He takes his time and his nail techniques are very good. I'm very happy that I have found a really good nail shop less than 5 mins from my home. Their website needs to be updated!!! I made an appointment for my friends and I. We went in, had a basic pedicure which was on their website advertised for $25. When we went up to pay, she said $35. I questioned her about the website and she said their prices went up and she would not honor the price from the website. Sort of upsetting, especially when I told my friend it was $25. This for sure was the worst pedicure I have had in a long time. Chipping days after I got it and mine pedicure is usually good for two weeks or more before any chipping. 4 toes were chipped in first week which means she did not clean oils off before polishing. One nail chipped but that might have been my weak nail. Bottom line is, I had to go into a different salon a week after to redo all. Waste of my time and money. read more
