My sister and I came to this restaurant because I had the taste for some fish. When we got here I was pleasantly surprised by all the menu options. I got the whiting and wings plater with side salad and okra. I must admit the wings were pretty good. The whiting was decent. My sister got the catfish and it was good. The atmosphere was that of country old south diner. Nothing fancy at all. I read the other reviews about experiencing racism at this place. I must admit the young lady was very nice and pleasant. She was patient as well and took the time to explain the platters and made recommendations. It was not the best food I have ever had however for the price and portion size it was not the worst either.

Hotdogs are out of this world and the onion rings have never missed. I try something new every time - today will be the egg rolls

Truly a local gem and worth trying. The food is always delicious. The service is warm and you're made to feel welcome and not just a number. Even during the busiest time the atmosphere is that of relaxing and just enjoy.

I was denied service. I am a disabled veteran with a service dog. As soon as I entered the restaurant, the owner began hollering at me from the kitchen that I was not allowed in because I had a dog. When I tried to show him the documentation, he refused to look at it and said he was no longer taking any more orders today. It was 4 in the afternoon. He also stated that my yellow lab with a service vest on did not look like a service dog. I would not recommend to eat here because the owner does not support veterans or any one else who requires assistance. It was embarrassing to be berated in front of all the other customers and employees.

You just can't judge this location by the way that it looks on the outside. On the inside, you will be surprised to see a menu that is filled with a large variety of all types of delicious foods. The owner of this wonderful place is very devoted and dedicated to making sure everyone is happy with their food selections. He is also a very hard worker. The seafood here is fresh, seasoned, and just delicious. You get a nice-sized portion in all of your food choices. I like the French fried, hot and well seasoned. The dining area has booths that are very spacious and comfortable. The prices are reasonable. If you enjoy fresh, hot seafood then you must check out TJ in Creedmoor, NC. You will not be disappointed.

I don't know why I keep giving these little hole in the wall places a chance, it's almost always a letdown. This place is no exception. First the price is they have on the front of the building are only valid until 4:00 p.m. not a huge deal but still annoying. Second their bathroom is 100 degrees and it had looked like somebody threw up in it and didn't flush. Oh and the hot water didn't work at all, which seems like a health code violation? The ice machine smelled terribly of mold. And the place is just odd, there is this huge room that's probably as big if not bigger than the actual dining room, that's just completely empty. The food itself was okay, I ordered the fried catfish. Was your standard fried catfish and fries that you can get just about anywhere. If they would clean the place up it would definitely be worth going back to, but I don't think I would ever step foot in this place again.

In the market for some old fashion southern cooking? You know that "hole" in the wall joint that serves fried whatever - hot and ready? Welp, if you stumble upon this find - that's what you in for! This restaurant was recommended to me by a local. When I heard they had the best Fried Catfish around, well I had to go and see what all the fuss was about. I did a quick google search - their website provides a PDF menu for you to download and order from. I did a call in order for: - Kid's Catfish Meal with Fries and Drink - Daily Special: Homemade Cheeseburger with Fries and Drink - Side Order of: Eggs Rolls - Side Order of: Okra Note, ask for condiments! If not, you will get nothing. So, keep that in mind (if you need tarter sauce or ketchup). After making my order, it took me about 10 mins to get to the location for pick up. There is a sign on the door that only 6 people can be in the building at a time. To my surprise, there was only a cashier and the cook (that I would later learn is also the owner). The customers had on masks, they offered liquid hand sanitation for guest. But the cashier nor the cook had on a mask. I leave that to be a pro or con for you. Everyone was pleasant. Note, if you pay with a card there is a service charge they don't tell you about. It's small, but still it's one of those things that should be announced before swiping someone's card. The overall building looked like any older diner. Nothing special, it appeared clean and smelled of cooked food. Now for the food review - this was the best Catfish I have had in YEARS. The Catfish was fresh, meaty, and fried perfectly. The seasoning was on point and didn't need anything additional. Tartar sauce is an added bonus or hot sauce - as the fish can stand on its own! The fried okra, MAN extra crunch, again fresh and seasoned perfectly. Normally, I like to have ketchup with mine - nope not with these. The egg rolls, were good. They aren't something I would write home about - but for something different on a fish and chicken menu - they were good. The Cheeseburger - look if you want homemade and tasty - welp here you are! The meat was tender and seasoning great. The burger was about the size of my hand, so yeah you will be full with just the single patty. The automatic toppings are cheese, mayo, tomatoes, and lettuce. If that's not your speed - let them know when ordering. We were very satisfied with this place - great recommendation!

Terrible service from the owner. He is an a$$hole to most people that come in. Food is barely edible, just frozen and fried.

The street situation precluded a few spots downtown, and since we weren't in the mood for our go-to taco place, we decided to head out to the Family Diner. The walk-in was awkward on our part- cash register or hot bar line first? A sweet call from the kitchen of "Y'all's first time?" got us headed in the right direction. Full disclaimer: I've been nostalgic for the southern cafeteria lately. While talking to some food industry friends last week, we realized there is something powerful about the food we all remember from K and W. And while Family Diner doesn't have a giant dining room or a 5-snake velvet rope line to get to the counter, it does take me back. Here's how we made our choices: the hot bar was a choice of three types of chicken- the baked and fried were tempting until the gentleman serving us says: "We can fry you fish to order. Flounder, trout, and catfish." The chicken got skipped for a plate of flounder (plentiful plate, btw), and a side of the Mac and cheese and cooked cabbage. The kid sampled the catfish plate, same sides. Sweet tea. And yes ma'am, I'd like the cornbread. Done. We sat down at a table in the main, cozy dining room. The first thing that I noticed: this place is clean- tidy, even. There was a super polite young man moving around and busing tables, tidying up unassumingly and doing it in a way that is lacking in some finer dining places I've been in recently. The food came out, piping hot. I used one of the malt vinegar packets to douse my flounder (a cafeteria habit) and dug in. The first bite was light and flaky, cooked perfectly. Nothing greasy-tasting, at all, just clean. The sides were great- nothing over seasoned, and like cooking at home, there was room for you to season things to your taste. Well played, Family Diner. The owner (I think? She was the one who guided us down the right path when we walked in) came out to make sure that we were happy, and yes ma'am, it's great, and holy cow, you just dropped this cornbread into the skillet and fried it? Yes, we will be back. It's unassuming, and it's just what the doctor ordered. It's a cafeteria, but it's clean and polite and makes you feel good that you ate there. It's soul food, but not just from an ethnic standpoint- it makes me happy and full and feel welcome and I'll be back.

You order at the counter, and the food is then delivered to your table. I ordered the two-egg breakfast plate with my eggs sunny-side up, with grits (hash browns were also an option) and sausage. Nothing is made from scratch, in house and was all little to no flavor. Perhaps this is why salt shakers were the only seasoning on each table. No hot sauce, no hot peppered vinegar, not even black pepper. Just salt. Fried chicken was your standard Sysco/Bulk pre-breaded run of the mill, drop into fryer and keep hot variety. The mashed taters n gravy were instant and of the cheapest bulk commercial variety as well, and the Mac & cheese? I knew it when I saw it but it was the only other decent side available as my first pick of fried okra was not available. For $25 for two people, I'd hit a Bojangles or Popeyes instead of coming here and actually feel full. Darn shame as I'd had high expectations for this mom & pop place, and truly wanted a real-deal Southern soul food meal which this was absolutely not. Maybe their breakfast options are actually made in-house and better? They would need to do so AND be open by 5 AM if they want to profit rapidly and substantially on the ever-increasing commuter to and from Raleigh transplants because the supper choices? Definitely not Granville County's finest. I'd suggest the owners of The Wilton Grill go work for a week from open to close at Apple Market up near South Boston to see how breakfast, lunch and supper is done. I'll try breakfast if and when they are open for wee hours and the planets align, but I doubt I will come here again for lunch or supper unless there's some soul and seasoning slapped into and on the menu. This was on point with elementary school lunch foods. I will say the styrofoam plates and cups, plastic forks, cup lids and straws were clean. They do accept Apple and Google pay, they also give you the option to tip which, lol, I'm not sure what for. This place could be a gold mine in the right hands.

I walked and saw all of the food trucks before ultimately choosing to get food from here. I noticed that their prices were fairly reasonable compared to other food trucks. They were out of the choices that I would typically get such as the wings and jambalaya. I ended up getting the Shrimp Etouffee (Sautéed vegetables cooked into a gravy with Cajun seasoning and Crawfish tail meat served over a bed of white rice) and Cajun boudin balls (Pork marinated in Cajun seasoning and vegetables that is slow-cooked, shredded, mixed with rice, balled up, breaded, and deep fried) with "Who Dat" sauce.I ordered at 8pm and the total was $14.57. I was told it would be ready in 5ish minutes as they were cooking it. I left to order my kid some food at another food truck and came back. It was around 8:10pm and it was ready. The canjun boudin balls were tasty. I wasn't a fan of the "Who dat" sauce. To me, it seemed mustard based and I dislike mustard. My shrimp etouffee came wrapped in a bowl. It was warm in temperature. It was good. The initial appearance threw me off because it looked like soup. However, underneath was nice. Both the canjun boudin balls and the shrimp etouffee had a little heat to them. It wasn't too bad though. I'm don't typically eat spicy foods, so i have a higher sensitivity. I messed up because I forgot to get anything to drink. While I wished my etouffee was a little warmer as the boudin balls were hot/the perfect temperature, it was a good experience overall. The staff was friendly and I enjoyed the food, except the sauce lol.

Very distinct flavor and still very rich and familiar. The shrimp were large and juicy as well as remained crunchy overall cooked very well. We also had the summer tomato and burata salad which was really refreshing and delicious. My friend ordered the mac and cheese which is a hefty serving size. Definitely a shareable side or a main for one person. Our host came to check on us frequently, our Waters never went empty. Other hosts were also helping check in on us which was nice. The restaurant itself is large. Booth tables available, which made for a cozy environment. We ended the night with some brownie a la mode, which was the perfect dessert to have on a hot summer day. For dinner I ordered the roasted chicken and the baked mac and cheese with bacon. The roasted chicken was juicy and tasty, and a bit sweet with the bourbon ginger and plum reduction, but the mac and cheese seemed dry and overcooked. We also ordered the buttermilk cheddar biscuits- that taste slightly undercooked (in a good way), so the texture was soft and chewy (and amazing).
