Clearly great home cooked food! Awesome Tri-tip salad, Pulled pork. Homemade potato chips! Homemade croutons on salad! Great food choice in Colfax!

My second time here. Tuesday 11 AM Ish. I decided on chicken fried steak and eggs. The meat and the batter were good, the gravy was kind of odd almost a mix of brown gravy and southern gravy with a sprinkle of paprika. The potatoes/onion/peppers tasted like the grill itself. The scrambled eggs were perfect. The sourdough toast was good. The coffee was good. The service was excellent. Overall kind of disappointed since the first time I came here it was so good. Maybe a third try to see where I come out on this place.?

Stopped to see this "world famous " stop - lunch was a club and onion rings. Daughter had grill cheese and fries. Had an order of fresh fruit too. After the meal we realized why it is famous and a must stop for a meal. Service was great and the prices reasonable as well. Lots of good choices. Wines / pizza / breakfast and burgers. Right off the highway 80 and plenty of parking. We will be back.

Decided to stop and get a bite to eat before getting too far up the road and saw a billboard that said this place. Place wasn't busy as we got there before lunch rush, I ordered a diet chin burger (1patty) which was more than what I could finish so I came home with half a burger. Fries were nice and hot/crispy. Service was nice, friendly and attentive. Would definitely be back next time through to try another delicious meal.

Service was great ... food was good ..little skimpy on the meat for the pulled pork but the pile high was definitely worth 17. Uncharged for sides was a bit steep at 3 bux a pop. Definitely will stop again when we head this way. We will stick with fries or chips though

This place is definitely the highlight of our stay in Colfax. This restaurant is right off the highway and it has great parking, good vibes and great cooking. The portions are huge, which was a pleasant surprise! My friend and I were staying in the area and we wanted to eat somewhere with good food options to fuel us for the trip ahead! We came for dinner and my friend had a burger and I had the chicken strips with buffalo sauce. The chicken strips were a standard size portion and just enough food for me, but the burger was an enormous meal! My friend could only eat half of it and had to take the rest home. Good place for good food and fast service! We would definitely come here again if we are in the area or driving through.

They have a very fun menu. Make sure you read all the items. I ordered the chicken sandwich, got it fried with lettuce, tomato, Ortega chili, cheese, and avocado on grilled sour dough. It came with salsa, which was perfect because instead of fries my husband got the home made tater chips. He ordered the tuna sandwich with bacon. The bacon was thick and crispy and delicious. Service was good, but slow. I like the bar area, and can see this place get very busy and probly loud, but a good time. Food is good, definitely recommend for a nice sized lunch.

This place definitely had a homemade cooking feel to it. The food was absolutely delicious! We ordered several different items including the clownifornia burger - had a fried egg on it with avocado, chili relleno sandwich - was cheesy and made with sourdough bread, double chin burger - very big with 2 patties and onion rings, turkey dip was fresh and hot, the potato salad was phenomenal and highly recommend it, fries for each meal were great, onion rings and jalapeño poppers were also fabulous. Kids hot dog and corn dog meals were good choices for kids. Can't say enough great things about this place. Very tasty! Has the hole in wall and homemade cooking feel to it. Check them out!

Looks good on the outside it's what's on the inside that concerns me

I hate to do this but I was extremely disappointed! My family stopped in after driving 7 hrs. It was rated well and overall looked like a good spot! They had a great variety of food. Three of the four of us decided to get burgers. At first the server said that they only have two patties left and that, that never happens. A moment later the waitress said somebody came back with more patties. Thankful cause I really wanted a burger we decided to order! The presentation of the food looked really good when it arrived at the table. I was a bit concerned that my meat wouldn't stay together. I noticed that it had quite a bit of gristle or fat in it. Actually that's an under statement. The fat content was the most I've ever seen in burger in my life, and the size of the pieces of gristle and fat in my burger was literally the size of nickels! I was so disgusted. I only ate fries. I know it wasn't the waitresses fault and I should've said something. Our whole bill cost $127 and we still tipped the waitress $22 for a total of $149. With as much as they charge for these meals, I don't understand why they couldn't get a decent grade of meat!

I was disappointed and ended up throwing the rest away when I got home. In addition, they wanted to charge me a few extra dollars for the benefit of using my credit card instead of paying cash. Fortunately, I had cash on me and used that instead. Just imagine all the "free" money this restaurant is racking up daily from customers who use their credit cards instead of paying cash, which they may not have on them. I truly view that as thievery. Even if the restaurant has to pay a small transaction fee to the credit card company when a customer uses a credit card -- they can still write off those fees. But their customers can't write off those few extra dollars that they have to pay the restaurant in order to use their credit card. I will never step foot in their restaurant again. Colfax deserves better!

Always a good time at C2!…read more I don't always make the trek here, but when I do, I make sure to visit C2. The service is superb. The staff is courteous and friendly, and they check on you during almost every course to get feedback. The dim lighting, personal lamp on every table, and white tablecloths give it the classic steakhouse feel. They used to have these cool light-up menus that illuminated as you opened them. I'm a little sad they don't have those anymore due to vendor issues--it was a small, thoughtful detail that really made a mark on me. The food is great. The steak is always perfectly seasoned--not overly salty or overdone, just right to the point where I don't need to add anything else. Even the roasted bulb of garlic that comes with the steak is perfect for adding extra flavor if I want to. The sides are what you'd expect from a classic steakhouse. One thing that sets them apart, though, is the bread. They always have a great variety, plus a huge helping of butter on the side. If this place were closer to home, I'd probably be here every other month. So it's probably a good thing that it's far away.

We arrived a little early and went to the bar for a cocktail and two of us knew what we wanted and ordered right away while the other two were indecisive. Our table was ready early and my wife was seated while the rest of us waited for our drinks. When the first two drinks came the other two were ordered. My wife was told that the drinks would be delivered to our table but nobody came to the bar to pick them up so I waited for the other two drinks to be made. It wasn't particularly busy at the bar but by the time the last two drinks came and I waited to pay the tab, I decided to take the drinks and tab to our table and handle the bar tab with our waitress. There was a lot of confusion with the bar tab and the bartender even came to our table to find the bill and I told him that I gave it to our waitress and they finally figured it out and added it to our dinner tab. I ordered an old fashion and by the time I finally got to take a sip, it was watered down Everybody else liked the cocktails they ordered, two of which were the strawberry drop. My drink was the only disappointment of the evening. Now, for the good stuff! We ordered onion rings and calamari for appetizers and the onion rings were HUGE! Typically, when they are that big, they fall apart and are messy to eat, but not these. They were very crispy, crunchy, and firm. The chipotle ketchup wasn't too much to write home about but the dips for the calamari stepped in well. The calamari batter was light and crispy and was as good as you would expect from a high scale restaurant. My wife and I shared a loaded iceberg wedge and it was right up there with the best we've ever had. For entrees we ordered two filets, one medium and one medium rare and my wife said her medium filet was the best steak she ever had. My daughter originally ordered her filet well and when the waitress told her that they usually butterfly it when ordered well, my daughter asked what that meant. I stepped in and told my daughter that filets are meant to be eaten medium rare or less and the waitress jumped in and verified, thus the medium rare order and my daughter loved it. I asked for the hazelnut crusted halibut without the crust and fortunately they were able to accommodate my request and it was delicious. Our last entree was the stuffed chicken breast and its appearance was the best looking on our table and my daughter was very happy with that choice. Despite being full, we ordered the dark chocolate lava cake and ice cream and a dessert special of fruit and some sort of cream? I'm not completely sure what it was but it was the favorite of the two. There was a very nice and rustic ambience with great service that made it a great choice to celebrate our graduate.

We both ordered the twin tails, which have gone up in price and down in quality, since our last visit. The lobster was undercooked, chewy with an odd purple color and unappetizing texture. I asked for mine to be cooked more, my husband did not, as he does not send food back. When it was brought back, it was still not cooked all the way and still had a translucent look on one side. It remained chewy and unappetizing, rather than the delicious and savory lobster we have enjoyed in the past. The mashed potatoes, which used to be to die for, were just ok and the portion size has shrunk. The arugula dish on the plate was merely ok as well. It used to be so tasty that I tried to recreate it at home, this was just a bit of salty and bitter greens. The bread was not served until after the meal arrived and they were out of the yummy brown bread. This meal seemed hastily thrown together, rather than thoughtfully prepared, as it as been in the past. It was very disappointing. We did enjoy the music on the patio, which added ambience to the outdoor dining experience. The "anniversary menu" they gave us was a nice touch.

The servers were nice and wished us happy birthday multiple times, which was nice. We got the Broadbent North coast Cabernet, the Stoneleigh Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc as our drinks for the evening. Hubby loved his Cabernet. I loved my sauvignon. For food we ordered the calamari as an appetizer, 6 oz Angus cut fillet and the 12oz prime top loin cut with a side of mashed potatoes, cooked medium rare. The calamari was great - light, not too greasy, accompanied by a basil aioli and a modified marinara sauce, just wonderful! We got some complimentary bread but it wasn't freshly made, so the crust was a little tough. Among our steak options, the Angus cut was beautiful - tender, juicy, melting in the mouth. The top loin cut was more chewy especially on the outside, so we think it was cooked a little more than a medium rare. The center was better. Both portions were quite heavy. The mashed potatoes were decent - creamy and smooth but could have done with more seasoning. What soured things for us a little bit was the end of our meal. Since we were celebrating a birthday, they gave us a bowl of vanilla ice cream with candles to blow on. This is a very sweet sentiment. However, we didn't really ask for it. We were then charged for this "complimentary" dessert in the check. Yes, it was only $7 but why charge us for something that we didn't ask for in the first place! Considering that this is an upscale steakhouse with dishes priced as high as $75, it left a bad taste in my mouth that they can't throw in a free dessert on the house for a celebration. We paid $200 in total for the food and tips, so obviously be prepared for a pricey meal.
