I love their sourdough bacon cheeseburger and fries. Been coming here for decades at this point. They recently changed their ranch and it now sucks. It used to be so thick and creamy and now it's watery like what. Something is wrong with their iced tea machine. Iced tea tastes like a sour foot. Maybe the machine isn't cleaned? It's been like this for a few years now since they first introduced it so I don't know what's up. No issues with the soda machine otherwise (I just don't drink soda). The place is clean and gets busy weekend mornings, but since the pandemic we prefer to bring it home. I really love sourdough sandwiches so I get take out. read more

Well we were looking for a family pack of burgers doing the burgers thing Well we have 2 Douglas burgers in our area but this Douglas had the family combo. This is a great deal for the price we hooked up 2 more combos and still a good price. We also grabbed a side of onion rings, I like the breading. Normally we get the rings with the breading more sloppy but these rings were breaded nicely like rings should be.. The proprietor is a very nice lady good customer service. Helped us with our decision. The place is very clean and welcoming grill staff were on point good timing on getting our food. Smelled delicious our food. just your basic no frills burger joint/diner. There are a lot of these in socal and what I generally recommend when coming here is to stick to the burgers and anything fried. They also usually serve mexican food and breakfast. I generally recommend staying away from the mexican food. It's never that great. they only offer it because a good majority of their patrons are hispanic. What sets this one apart is that they do take a great deal of pride in the clenliness and their food is nicely prepared with not much wait. All their staff are super nice, which is always appreciated. The one issue I have here is that there is only one bathroom outside. That may be an issue if you plan to sit and eat. Also if you come here do be patient with the staff when it comes to their communication skills. Clearly English is not their first language so do keep that in mind. read more

Honestly. When George owned this place it was a bit run down but, goddammit! Was it good. And very affordable. But ever since it got taken over by someone else, a while back, it seriously has gone downhill, and the price has increased like no other. Food quality has decreased a lot. And damn they are stingy! A box used to be hooked up with fries and onion rings, but now it's a joke. The owners wife always seems in a bad mood. The old staff is still cool but the new owners really brought this place down. This is the best Douglas in the city, everything is great except for when I went on 8/7 2023 and I ordered a pastrami and it almost seemed as if they forgot 2/3 of the meat, I do not want to compare it to a competitor in the city but if I would have seen how little meat was in the sandwich I would have changed it to a burger. I usually write great reviews and for this one I'm still giving it 5 STAR's because everything else is great on the menu, service is fantastic, the place is impeccable, I just hoped that I would have seen the size before I took the Sandwich home that it was tiny and merely a disappointment. read more

This place used to be an amazing family spot anytime you came. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner, you name the time and it was always a go-to spot. My family has been going for years and when I mean years I've been going since I was a baby. 25 years later and the food portions have more than diminished. The steak and eggs was my go-to for the longest time. My family and I recently went and we were just heart broken when we got the saddest ham steak and eggs combo we have ever seen. Not even a year ago you'd get 2 big fat juicy pieces of ham, with some crispy hash browns that overflowed the plate and soft scrambled eggs that would melt your tastebuds. No, what I got was a sorry excuse of a piece of ham, no bigger than my iPhone. Half the portion of hash browns that were dry and overcooked. Eggs that were like warm at best. All that for the same price. I'm sorry but the only thing I'd be getting from Douglas is their burgers. That really hasn't changed. But who knows when I'd ever come back after that disappointment. I didn't want to believe my parents when they said Douglas isn't Douglas anymore. It's just like any other restaurant. As for service, the waitresses and cooks are well known friends of the family. Never a complaint there. The ambiance of the restaurant has changed though. It doesn't have the same warmth and welcoming atmosphere. I'm so sad to post a review with this amount of negative feedback. I really hope the owner reads this and considers what he's doing to this place. A little message for the owner: I know everything goes up in prices but don't change the portions. Don't change the quality of your food. If you have to raise the price of the food then so be it. I've been here a few times and though the ladies have been nice, I feel their prices are high for what you get, atleast for what I've gotten. I've been to Douglas 3 times. I've ordered onion rings twice. They don't give you very many for what they charge. Today I ordered the half onion ring & half zucchini, I couldn't believe how skimpy they were. This is the type of place that contributes to america's obesity problem. The type of food here is so greasy, fattening, fried, and oily that you can actually feel your heart beat faster as you take each bite. Luckily for me however I live nowhere near this place as i think i'd be one of their frequent customers. When i first walked in i was surprised about their extensive menu. The original menu is littered with tacked on pieces of paper with additional items and it appears that their menu is ever-evolving (check out the pic i uploaded to give you a rough idea) and has something for everyone I had the breakfast burrito and it was LEGIT. not the best but definitely in my top 10. I ordered the combo burrito with extra crispy hashbrowns inside and it turned out very well. if i'm out in the area for work again, i'd probably stop by for another burrito to further clog my arteries and shorten my lifespan read more
