Finally made it to Tlaolli. Such a hard decision figuring out what I wanted to order so I got chips, green salsa, a short rib taco and a tamale. I really enjoyed everything and the outdoor seating area is very cute. Spent some time talking to the owner, who is incredibly nice. It's hard to find tamales like this in Indy, so it was great to try some that lived up to my tamale experience in Tucson. I definitely want to try other things so I plan to return soon!

Wow! I can't believe we haven't come here before. I had this place in my "must try" list for a while and was in the area for dinner. If you want a fantastic tamale, THIS is the place! So flavorful and amazing! The chicken chipotle quesadilla was ordered by my husband and he said the flavors in every bite were outstanding! We got the chips and salsa too. It's not like your chain restaurant salsa. It was wonderful. Had a nice kick to it but not overbearing. If you haven't been here, don't wait any longer! Btw, the owner came to talk to us, and he is a gem. He really cares about the food and all the natural ingredients put into every menu item. They also have many vegan options to choose from. Something for everyone.

This place was on my list (how can it not be after being on the Best Taco list!) for a while and I finally got the chance to stop in. The owner was extremely friendly (y habla español!) & walked through the menu with me. I'm not vegan/vegetarian myself but given that they had a lot of options in that arena, I opted for a meat option (chicken chipotle) and a meat alternative option (the nonono). Both were quite good. The space is cute & there's both indoor & outdoor seating. It certainly would get crowded fast on a busy day but otherwise a very accommodating place. I'll have to go back to try more items!

I had seen this place on DDD and immediately knew I wanted to go. There is plenty of parking which is a big plus for me. Then there's a cute patio that I will definitely be trying when Indy isn't frozen over. The menu is simple and easy to navigate and the woman at the cash register was very helpful. The Vegan Birria tacos were probably the best food I've had in Indy. I am lactose intolerant so I was thrilled at the vegan menu because I feel like my options at Mexican places can be limited. My friends got the steak tacos and three different meat based tacos. They all loved them! We also split the bean and jalapeño tamale and the nonono vegan tamale and they were amazing! This is a place I've been talking about since we went!

This little hole in the wall taco shop in the middle of no where was most definitely worth the 30 minute drive! It's a cute little family owned restaurant and each taco was extremely unique. They are one of the first taco spots that I have seen accommodate those that are vegan. They had so many options, while I'm not vegan I wanted to try and it was delicious. The wildflower taco was something I've never tried before, the flavor was soo good I couldn't even tell I was eating a flower - which might I say was a first! From the moment we walked in we were greeted which I assume was the owner and he set up a table for us and the serve talking our order was extremely helpful in helping us decide which tacos! I would highly recommend this taco shop if you're looking for vegan tacos and unique flavors!

A very vegetarian friendly spot, which for Indianapolis is still fairly hard to find. Ordered the hibiscus tacos and wasn't really impressed by those. Then again It may be that I am not fond of hibiscus? IDK, not that many chances around town to figure out which it is. Bottom line, I will not order that again. The chicken taco was pretty good. The star of my meal was the guacamole. That is simply stellar, fresh & simply delicious. I'd come back just for the guacamole. This has to be the best I have had in town. Also the decor inside and out is really cute and artsy. However their limited opening hours make it difficult for me to visit.

Food was delicious. I was impressed with the chicken soup we had. The chips were lacking but the salsas were fantastic. Relaxed ambiance and right next to the library, so great place to get some grub while reading a book.

This place has some amazing selections for vegan and non-vegans. The lady at the counter was very informative as to how to order and even convert many of their non-vegan selections to vegan. I ordered a mix -and-match taco trio: Vegan Hibiscus, Vega No No No and the Jackfruit. All three were very well seasoned and full of flavor. If you're on the east side check this pace out.

Fresh, tasty and fast. Unique Mexican food. Nothing too spicy. The street corn was the best.

    Pork Ancho Taco

Hands down the best Mexican food my family has ever had. LOVED everything I had. Ate the beef jalapeno tamale and chips and guag (with pickled onions YUM) so fast that I didn't get a picture. I did manage to remember to get a pic of the pork ancho taco. My daughter is vegan and she got a combo taco platter - jackfruit, tofu mole and hisbiscus flower - and loved them all. I also got the hibiscus and it was excellent. Service was friendly and fast and the restaurant was cozy. Just note that they open at 3pm, with the kitchen closing at 7:30p, and the restaurant closing at 8p. We will be going back. HIGHLY recommend!

Found this place with a little searching on Yelp. The restaurant is very homey and has a well decorated inside and a cozy outdoor seating area. The inside is small and only has about 6 small tables all pretty close to each other. The tacos have fun unique recipes that sound good, but two of the vegan options, the hibiscus flower and the tofu mushroom mole, didn't have much flavor. You can tell the ingredients are fresh, but they didn't seem cohesive. The third taco, cheese and poblano, was richer and tasted pretty good. I'd come here again but try some different types of tacos.

I tried the NoNoNo Taco, Jackfruit Asada, and Hibiscus Tacos. All of them were good, but the Nonono was the best of the three. None of them were excellent or mind-blowing for me. There isn't an option for a side order of rice and beans, so I tried the $10 rice and beans. It was good. I'd give this place a 7/10. Good but not amazing. Worth a try if you're in the area and craving tacos.

Oh man, we must've done something right because the food gods have blessed us all with Vegetarian…read moreVillage. Indy, do you hear me? Please listen...You have been blessed by the food gods! You won't find this concept in many cities so I hope we can recognize it as the gem that it is and take advantage of it to keep them around. So what is it you ask. First, it's not a restaurant. Rather, imagine if mom (dad, sister, aunt or whoever can cook in your family...mom just connotes warmth and wholesome for me) were to cook healthy, wholesome meals and bring them to your house whenever you wanted. This is what it is; it's a catering service but I think they're aiming to cater to us, to singles, to families and to our everyday lives. Awesome, right? Many of us don't have time to cook or we just don't want to so we eat out. There's a downside to this: we often have to sacrifice healthy food for convenient and/or tasty food. It's a First World problem, I know (one with shockingly negative consequences but that is a lecture for another setting). The brilliance of Vegetarian Village and places like this is they offer a perfect solution to this modern day problem in that we can have all three: healthy, tasty and convenient. The Holy Trinity of modern eating. No sacrificing. Again, this is why I'm thrilled to have them here... The food: I wanted to order the holiday meal but since there are no Yelp reviews yet and I knew nothing about their food, I was apprehensive to do so since I would be ordering for 8. I called and the owner was kind enough to fix me a plate to try at their Central Ave. location. An entire meal: pastry stuffed turkey, mashed potatoes, sweet mashed potatoes, cauliflower, and string beans with pearl onions and almonds. How cool is that? Good business practices is all I can say to that. I had no idea what to expect but yum. The meatless turkey was delicious as were all of the sides. The turkey is a recipe she has created on her own. Like I said, this is wholesome cooking...comfort food prepared with heart (metaphorically...this is a vegetarian business after all.) Classics made meatless by professionals. This food is truly an extension of the chefs and they are very passionate about what they're cooking for us. I was fortunate enough to talk with the owner for a bit, and the dishes they are making sound amazing. Meatloaf, lasagna, sloppy joes, chicken noodles, veggie jambalaya (all meatless of course). My favorite bit: they offer 5 entrees for $45. This is crazy affordable and so perfect for singles or couples. Families of course too. I cannot wait to try everything they offer on their menu and I will keep you posted. Some things to keep in mind: This is a new company so my understanding is that the chefs still work other jobs. For this reason, we need to place our orders a week ahead of time. It's not like ordering a pizza so a little planning is required. Also, pick up is available. I think they offer this in both Carmel and midtown on Central. Great locations. Check out their website because I believe they are going to have a sampling/tasting of their food soon. Thank you Vegetarian Village for bringing this concept to Indy and making our lives a little easier...and healthier!

The interior is bright and fun. They're in the strip mall at 86th with the Noral Target, so there was plenty of parking. We each ordered separately, but they nicely put our order on the same overall table ticket so that it was delivered at roughly the same time. I hadn't been here before, and was excited to try it. You order at the front counter then they bring it to our table. The menu can be a little daunting if you aren't sure what you want. I chose a chicken enchilada bowl, but was then told they were out of cheese. Nothing else was jumping out at me, so I just ordered the avocado toast. (see pics) Our food came fairly quickly. I will say, my coworkers' dishes looked good. I was pretty disappointed with my avocado toast. For $9, it was a sinlgle slice of bread, only very lightly toasted. The jammy egg was maybe 1 hard boiled egg, chopped up on top, and it was cold. It did have shredded cheese over it (not sure why that couldn't have been used in my enchilada bowl?) . It also tased like it had a lot of "everything bagel" spices on it, and was overall fairly salty. So it was a little disappoining. And I left hungry. But I wasn't in the mood to order anything else. My coworkers had sweet potato fries (I tried some - really good!), and different bowls that looked good, so I would give them another try sometime, but the avocado toast did not live up to expectations. #ReviewsByRL

Plus, they had a few vegan choices for me (highly caloric, not super healthy, but still, they had more than one choice, and vegan offerings that weren't salads). They even had three tasty mocktails and some alcohol-free beers (since I don't do booze anymore either)! The veggie burger came with a squishy bean patty, with peas in it -- not my fave texture or flavor but tolerable -- and a tahini sauce... but they barely put any sauce on it. A gourmet, no-high-fructose-corn-syrup ketchup or tomato jam might have been better, or at least more of the tahini. It did come with a nice pile o' crunchy pickles (love) and a lovely green salad with balsamic dressing (way too many carrots). Service was fast and friendly. Ambience is upscale bar, with fun and interesting murals on the walls -- they had a terrific music playlist going, and the Hubbins and I ended up kind of dancing in place without realizing it. Public parking lot directly across the street meant we didn't get soaked by the rainstorm, and didn't have to drive around forever dealing with construction, looking for a parking spot. A nice, easy option for dinner with the fam without having to work/think too hard about it -- something to suit all of our varied diets.

Mix veg tasted like home cooked sabzi. So neither good neither wow. Saag was perfection to me.
