I was faced with a slab leak that flooded the first floor of my condo. I was referred to TLC Plumbing thru the Angi website and plumber David was sent to complete a re-route from the half-bath to the kitchen sink. It was not until the base cabinets were demolished that I saw that the new copper piping had not been run behind the drywall with steel stud safety plates, but just curved on top of the bottom shelf, completely exposed to possible damage from items placed back on the shelf. When the flood mitigation company arrived they immediately recognized that the new piping was not up to code and they contacted Thad, the owner of TLC Plumbing, to give him the option of coming back to correctly install the waterline, or they would fix it and bill the cost back to TLC. Thad came by my house the next day but did not tell me he was coming and did not knock on the door. I immediately called Thad back to have him return, but he cut me off and said he'd be back "between 10-12 the next day." He never showed up and ghosted me thru further attempts to contact him. It's also noteworthy that I had to contact Thad four times to get a readable copy of their work order/receipt. The flood mitigation company is now billing me $1100 for their professional fix, saying TLC is claiming I approved the non-code compliant approach. I was shocked when I saw the exposed piping and compared it to how the original pipes were installed in the walls. I cannot and will not give TLC Plumbing any grade other than an F and strongly caution anyone against using them. read more

I am writing this review to express my utter disappointment and frustration with the plumbing services provided by TLC Plumbing. I had initially approached them with the hope of getting a leaking water heater replaced, a typical job, but my encounter with TLC Plumbing left me feeling deceived and cheated. When the CEO/President of TLC Plumbing, Thad, himself came to assess the situation and confirmed the need for a water heater replacement, I trusted his expertise and expected a fair and reasonable quote for the job. The initial quote I received from Thad, amounting to $3947.34, seemed acceptable given the scope of the work, which included an 80-gallon water heater, labor, and disposal of the old unit. This quote was also cross shopped with a competing plumber which resulted in a similar value, I decided to use TLC Plumbing in good faith since they came first. However, my trust quickly turned to disbelief and shock when two of Thad's employees arrived at my house to perform the job. To my surprise, they immediately revised the quote to an outrageous $7387.84 - almost than double the amount originally agreed upon. This sudden and significant price hike was completely unacceptable and unethical. Understandably, I promptly asked the employees to leave my property as I felt deceived by TLC Plumbing's bait-and-switch tactics. It is beyond me how a company can provide one quote and then drastically increase it on the day of service without any prior notice or explanation. Such unprofessional conduct not only wasted my time and caused unnecessary stress but also made me question the integrity of TLC Plumbing as a whole. As a result of this unfortunate experience, I had to seek the services of another plumber to complete the job, incurring additional inconvenience and expense. I strongly advise others to steer clear of TLC Plumbing's unscrupulous business practices. Their lack of transparency, professionalism, and integrity is deeply concerning and should not be overlooked. In conclusion, my encounter with TLC Plumbing was marked by disappointment, frustration, and a sense of being taken advantage of. The company's inability to honor their original quote, coupled with their unprofessional behavior, has left me with a negative impression that I cannot ignore. This plumber was great. I needed help with a fireplace gas valve so I called and set up an appointment. He said he had never done this type of valve before but thought he could figure it out. Sure enough, when he showed up he knew exactly what he was looking at. I watched him do the repair and he was quick but also careful not to damage anything. We hired this company to do some new storm drains at our house which wasn't cheap (almost 15k) First, they said they would send 4-5 guys and have the job done in a week. Not true! They showed up with 2 guys for 1 day!! The rest of the job they pawed off to 1 guy and the poor guy had to do the whole job by himself which took him almost a month! They would constantly argue with us and change the plans of the job. Basically, it was a sh%t show! Not to mention, the work was garbage. We had to hire another company to fix they're crappy work. I called TLC and someone answered the call she sounded very friendly and courteous. She gave me an appointment between 12-2 pm same day. I received 2 courtesy phone calls for follow up regarding the appointment. The technician named Danny came by to check the leak in our kitchen sink. The kitchen angle stops were loose and needed to be re tightened. The teflon tape needs to be applied on the pipe. The previous technicians from another company didn't do their job right. Danny also noticed sounds from the bathroom toilet and checked the possible issue. I also noticed the sounds coming from the toilet. It's valid reason to check it. He discovered The toilet flapper needs to be replaced in doing so will save us water bill in the future. He fixed both kitchen and bathroom problems in less than 1 hour. Danny was fast and efficient. He didn't try to sell anything for upgrades or other business tactics to earn extra money. He focused on the problems. The price of the work is reasonable. I am satisfied with the service. Worst customer service ever. I had a window of arrival confirmed. I understand that windows can change but in this case it was changed without any DIRECT confirmation from me the client. That you call and leave messages but dont actually SPEAK to the client doesnt not equal confirmation that the schedule change is acceptable. I called out the dispatcher regarding this and for some reason she felt it was acceptable to cut me off and talk over me and she feels that i was getting "crazy" with her. I requested to speak to ANYONE else in the office which she refused to do. If it werent for the fact that my needs are dire I'd be requesting to move this over to some other company. My wife discovered a leak coming from one of our bathrooms early Sunday morning as we were getting ready for Church (10/4). When we returned my wife did a internet search and the first company that popped up was TLC a Christian owned company which was a pleasant surprise. Since it was a Sunday we figured we would leave a message and hopefully someone would return our call Monday Morning. To our surprise we received a call fro the owner who told my wife he would have Steve call. Steve did an came out and was very thorough and professional. Steve determined that there was a leak possibly in the slab. He said he would contact CPL to have them come out to locate the leak. Chris from CPL came out early afternoon and detected the approximate location of the lead. The next day Steven and David from TLC arrived and began to work on where the leak was. However all the water pipes are in the slab and difficult to locate. We had to have CPL come back out the next day to precisely pinpoint the leak it was under the slab and foundation which required extensive jackhammer work. Dave and Steve detailed what they were doing and were very professional. Wednesday they located the leaky pipe in the wall down in the foundation. They worked late Wed and said they would be there early Thursday to complete the work. The amazing thing was they managed to save all the floor tiles they removed so the Construction company could reuse them. Dave and Steven completed the project around noon cleaned everything up and said they were heading up to Vista for another job. I highly recommend TLC Plumbing if anyone needs any plumbing repairs. We had a slab leak and called TLC to come out and give us an estimate on how much it would cost to reroute our plumbing through the ceiling. When my husband called them they originally told us they could start the work right away. We ended up having to wait 3 days before they came back to start working. While they were working they kept trying to up sell everything they could. A new something here, a new something there. They then made multiple unnecessary cuts(that they do not repair) in my ceiling. They also left splatters of liquid metal all over my wall. In the end the price was 300$ more than what they originally quoted. I would not recommend this company to anyone. Extremely disappointed. read more

We had a few sinks that failed to drain so we needed help unclogging them. When I called TLC, they couldn't provide me with any idea of how much it might cost. Plumber showed up and gave me an estimate of $200. For those that don't know, that is freaking expensive to snake a drain, but what could I do? I already took the morning off work to meet the guy and we needed the problem fixed so I paid it. Took the guy 5-10 minutes to snake the drain (using about 10 feet of snake) and then he was gone. Didn't even clean up after himself (that makes 2 plumbers that left a huge mess, must be standard). Had the person who answered the phone told me it was $200 to snake a drain, I would have hung up and called other plumbers. I felt that this was all part of the plan... don't discuss prices until you are already committed and then hit you with bad news. read more

I'm probably the worst handy-man ever. My wife continually makes fun of my inability to fix anything. So, when our toilet began leaking and "phantom" flushing, she knew that I'd be rendered powerless. Enter TLC Plumbing. Gilbert showed up on time and ready to go. He quickly diagnosed the problem and offered up several ideas on how to fix the leaks. He even went out of his way to replace parts with the manufacturer's suggested parts, which were cheaper than regular replacements. Here's the kicker, then he showed me how to fix the problem in the future so that I didn't have to call the plumber. But there is more. He even offered to fix my garbage disposal for free and showed me how to fix it as well. These guys are awesome. It is easy to book the plumber, cost is very reasonable, Gilbert is really nice and proficient at his work. They clearly value customer service and they have won a repeat customer in me!! read more

He was diagnosed the problem rather quickly, something another plumber failed to do. Dave cleared our clog and we were back in business in no time. I agree, stay away! Drip in bathtub. Plumber comes out and says a piece needs to be replaced in the faucet. Suggests that at the same time both might as well be replaced. Payed about $500. Started to leak about seven months later. Called and was told my warrant was up and they could make another call. Had a discussion with the person that answered the phone and we didn't agree on a plan. I get a call from owner . I explained the problem to him and at that point he told me that this particular plumber was not very good and left for a government job. The only thing he offered was to replace both faucets with a one handled faucet for about $800. Fast forward - I hire another plumber who replaced the parts that TLC installed. They installed one, however, the right faucet was never replaced. The plumber showed me how the tile was not ground away and there was not way a part could have been installed. This plumber replaced both faucet parts and it is working fine. I cannot recommend this company. read more

These guys are great! We had an issue with roots in our sewer main and they were quick to write up an estimate to send to our property management company so we could get the work approved. Unfortunately, the investment company that owns our home was not so quick. Even though they missed the deadline for a weekday appointment, our technician came out today (Saturday) on his day off, in the POURING RAIN and fixed our sewer main. But I guess things have changed, I've attempted to book service with them twice and twice they gave me excuses about why they couldn't show up. Read the full story below. The first time, they told me the plumbers truck needed a break job. One which took all day. So they no-showed the entire day and offered to book another appointment some other day. Wow, fantastic customer service. Unfortunately, I would be out of town for 18 days, so it would have to wait until I return. My wife booked an appointment last week for today [Monday 10/7] between 9-11 AM. I wait until 11 AM before I call: "oh yes, sorry we forgot about you" an emergency call by another customer took your spot, so sorry". So how does tomorrow work for you?" Ugh, so I wasted my entire morning waiting for someone who never shows and I get no call explaining the situation. Is that TLC?? I told them, obviously my business is not very important to them and I would be finding another plumber. Which I did. I called Mr. Rooter, who said they'd send someone right over. David, the plumber from TLC, really deserves a 10-star review. He removed and disposed of one of our toilets, which had been acting up much too often, and replaced it with a gem.
