Only one check in here? I've been to T Mac's at least half a dozen times, it seems before I was regularly checking in on Yelp. For pasta and warm wintry braised meat sauces, this is a fantastic choice. A cold, foggy winter evening brought us to to the warm dining room at T. Mac. Comfortable seating, good local Walla Walla wine, and friendly service put us at ease. There is a nice selection of cocktails to get you started, along with a variety of tempting appetizers. We settled on grilled octopus in a mildly spicy tomato sauce with capers and olives, and some good fresh bread to soak up the sauce. Good start. A couple of salads next include an interesting pear salad with mixed greens, pine nuts and a white truffle vinaigrette. Parmesan shavings on top were a nice salty counterpoint to the creamy dressing. We also split an autumn salad with roasted butternut squash. The main event was mostly house made pasta. When we arrived, our server mentioned a daily special; house made ravioli with braised beef cheeks. There are only two appetizer portions left, or one main dish. Set that aside for us please! The ravioli were delicious, a little toothy from the homemade pasta, with a rich tomato sauce and that soft braised beef. To cut the richness of the beef was an herby lemon gremolata. Arugula salad accompanied the pasta dressed in a lemony vinaigrette for a nice match. House made pappardelle with a slow cooked beef bolognese is comfort food at its best. The braised pork shank, a dish that has been on the menu for the five years or so that I've been coming here, stays on the menu for a reason. Slow cooked pork, served on a crispy polenta cake with braised greens. Eat slowly and enjoy every bite. Finally the gnocchi with lamb is another comfort food classic. House made gnocchi were boiled then pan fried to get a little crisp texture. Slightly browned on the outside, soft on the inside, this one step for texture adds a lot to the finished dish. Served with a tomato sauce and slow braised shredded lamb and grated Parmesan, this is hearty winter food to follow a day on the slopes, or a cold winter night in wine country. I've gone back and forth in my opinion on this restaurant over the years. Our first experience was great, the last couple of times just okay. Yummy! We had the manila clam and the butternut squash ravioli, along with a red wine flight. To top off the meal, we had the Tropic Dreams. The manila clam dish had a wonderful spicy coconut flavor with delicious homemade pasta. The ravioli were extremely large, filled with yummy cheese and topped with melt-in-your-mouth flavor bursts. Would definitely have these two entrees again. The red wine flight was surprisingly good, and we were given a small informative tasting guide (Written by an English professor with a sense of humor. However, we have no proof of this "fact"). This would have been a five star experience except for the dessert, Tropic Dreams, which was definitely eye appealing and fresh tasting, just not to our personal tastes this evening. TMACS was amazing! One of the best places in Walla Walla hands down. If you are visiting here it is a must go. Not only were their cocktails amazing (pictured here is the phantom) but their food was delicious. We only stayed for appetizers cause we already had reservations elsewhere but their hospitality and quality food and drinks made us want to cancel all other reservations elsewhere. We had their mushroom and English pea bruschetta, both were amazing! And we had their Phantom cocktail, a specially ordered cocktail and then their Cachaca spritz, all were delicious! Came here for my last night in Walla Walla when visiting family. I've had ver good experiences here in the past. Our server was very friendly and attentive. Food wasn't as good as I've had in the past here. My stepdads crab ravioli was ok. Said he couldn't really tell if there was crab in it. He did love seared ahi. My mom said the agnolotti was pretty good. I'm gluten free and they do not offer gluten free pasta like they have in the past. So ordered whatever gluten free vegetarian dish the chef could come up with and pasta came out to my surprise. The girl that dropped it off said gluten free which is was a surprised. She was not our server and when our server swung by I asked her about it and she said I guess we had gluten free pasta after all and then said don't eat let me check again. Thank goodness I didn't eat cause it was a vegan pasta dish and not gluten free. I would have been in the hospital later that night if I had even a bite of it. She got me some soup to eat while waiting. Then my entree came out which was just sautéed veggies and some potatoes. Didn't have much flavor. Tasted like salt, pepper and butter. It was ok. In the past I've gotten some pretty nice and flavorful dishes just whipped up by the chef. We'll come back again when I'm in town because it's one of the only nice places to eat at in Walla Walla but I've had better experiences in the past maybe next time I won't chance it with whatever the chef can come up with cause this time it wasn't very creative. Lunch at TMACS! absolutely amazing! Sat outside on the patio and had a bottle of their house white. We all ordered burgers mine was the Wagyu Burger and I have to say it was perfect! - Everyone else in our party had the Lamb Burger and they all enjoyed it also. Tom has been able to roll with the punches in these difficult times and make a cool trendy destination where the food is delicious, the wine list is extensive and the atmosphere pleasant. Our party of six had a wonderful dining experience at TMacs yesterday. We ordered several appetizers the most well received of which were the seared ahi and the burrata salad. We ordered the tenderloin, crab ravioli, vegetarian agnolotti and the pasta Bolognese. Every dish was seasoned well and tasty but our standout favorite was the bolognese. No space for dessert. Service was friendly and professional albeit a bit slow at times. Nice wine list. Hope to return sooner than the eight years ago when we first dined here. Would recommend. read more

We made a reservation for 6:45pm (on a Friday night in late July), we walked in & were seated right away. Our server was just the right amount of attentive & cleared away & brought dishes in a timely manner. The patio looks nice out next to the street - it was just too hot for us to dine outside. We ordered the Seared Ahi appetizer to start (see photo) - amazing flavors & textures. Next, we each ordered an entree - I had the Agnolotti (see photo) which is described in their menu as "morels, lemon ricotta, English peas, kale, lemon-thyme butter." Let me tell you - this is probably one of the best pasta dishes I've ever had!! So fresh, & so much flavor! The hubs ordered the Pappardelle Bolognese (see photo) which is described as "milk-braised beef and pork ragu, mixed herbs, parmigiano-reggiano." His was so scrumptious too!! I never ate at TMACS, but came for cocktails after tiring of drinking wine all day. With an upscale atmosphere, very urbane, TMACS brings a certain panache to Walla Walla. It was filled with locals at the end of February, and everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves. The only thing that appeared incongruous were these leather vests several servers were wearing. I enjoyed not one, but two dining experiences at the new "TMAC's" in Walla Walla over the weekend. The outdoor "bistro" vibe was classy and hip! I loved every element about the design of the interior/exterior and most-especially loved the stellar service. Tommy (owner) frequented our table and served a signature gin cocktail (presented in a vintage/gold accent high ball) adorned with club soda, FRESH grapefruit juice, lime and a mint sprig. Clean and yummy! The farm-to-table menu was scrumptious and we so enjoyed the array of fresh salads, seared ahi, pasta dishes, shrimp pasta, salmon and each and every side dish. Outstanding food, well worth the price. We tried the new TMACS last night. We're fairly new in town, never tried the original location, so I have no comparison. It was all new to us. The menu is a nice combination of classic comfort foods and more creative, risky items. We tried a little of each. The Poke Fries were really good, with excellent fries, siracha aioli and a marinated, sushi grade raw tuna. The tuna was really fresh. My favorite of the night was the entree we split: Braised Lamb. Classic braising, and subbed bing cherries, brussels sprouts and onions for the potatos. So it was hearty but not heavy. Last night, there were little things going on with service that weren't quite right. None were deal-killers, but it was continual, and that is why I gave them 4 stars instead of 5. Too many staff standing around chatting, staff not knowing some items on the menu were out, staff not knowing how to describe menu items, no one knowing the dessert menu (which is not printed). Various staff wandering in and out, different people helping us, or totally ignoring us. Front of house needs a little tightening up. At least two groups of diners who'd made reservations for the restaurant were vocal about being forced to sit in the bar, when there were seats available in the restaurant. One group did leave. I have to say, 3-4 staff spent a GREAT DEAL of time socializing, so it seems they could have covered the dining room too. However the kitchen was doing their job and putting out delicious food, and it came out in good time. The various people who served us were pleasant and friendly. I am guessing, because they had a successful former location for so long, that they know how to run a restaurant, and are working on consistency with front of house service, and will most likely nail it. Due to the fact that we did not have a reservation and couldn't get in for dinner the first night we were in town, we stopped in the next day and went straight to their bar to check things out. I think that was a great decision. We were there early in the evening and the place was not busy so Moira, our bartender, had time to chat with us. She was an excellent bartender (the cocktails were spot on!) and she was a pleasure to talk with. The four of us shared a flatbread and a cauliflower appetizer and both were very tasty! I can't judge their regular menu or service, but Moira did a fantastic job and the couple of items we tried were good.
