Update: Fast forward to 3 years later and the pavers are sinking in and look like this... I would be happy if this was under warranty and they were able to fix it but he's likely moved on to a bigger job. Definitely a hazard. If he was willing to fix for a reasonable labor price I'd be okay too, but I can't even get other companies to fix this because it wasn't their work... I asked Travis and company to do my yard's concrete, install a fence, and service my irrigation system and when it was over I regretted it so very much! If their prices are low they make up for it in low quality, unprofessionalism, and plain amateurism! The pictures attached are worth a thousand words. A few notable things are as follows: Somehow they managed to drill into and damage my foundation wall, to add a walkway next to my house! There are stains all over the dried concrete. Some stains (efflorescences) are expected but this is way too much and They could have done a much better job. And finally, Travis lied to me about servicing the irrigation system. When I turned it on in front of him it leaked all over the place. He said he'll be back to fix it but of course he never did. I followed up on these issues and asked them to fix them but didn't hear back. They might be among the cheaper options on the market but there is a reason for it. Summary: Delays, bad planning, poor quality workmanship, lack of communication. Don't use TND Landscaping and find someone else. Detail: We hired TND to do a small paver job back in November. Paid the 50% deposit and they scheduled to start on Jan 11. Texted the day before to confirm start next day and he said they would be over at 9am. On the day, he had a couple of guys sick and ended up coming the next day to start what was supposed to be a 3 day job. They worked Tuesday from early til late afternoon, and came back for only 2 hours Wednesday morning then disappeared. Travis later that day realized they hadn't ordered the pavers (since mid-Nov), and had the pavers delivered Thursday afternoon. The crew came back Friday to finish the job and because they were rushing to finish ended up working almost in the dark. The sand they used left white spots and chalky stains. They told me they would wash them away before they left and they would be gone when the pavers were dry. Next day the white spots were still highly visible and several of the pavers had been installed upside down (one side is textured). Travis came back on Sunday and fixed the upside down pavers and washed the pavers again. When I said I still wasn't happy he offered to come out and power wash the pavers in 2 weeks after the sand had time to fully cure but still wanted his balance. I paid him the 50% balance remaining in good faith he would stick to his word. 3 weeks later, still no sign of him and no update for when he will come back as promised. He has never once proactively reached out to say "I'm delayed", "I'm sick", "I can't make it because [insert valid reason]". I have to keep chasing him, texting and calling every few days, and now I'm getting radio silence. He was quick to ask for his money, promised he would come back to finish the job satisfactorily, and is now AWOL. Overall, very poor business practice and sub-par workmanship. Find a better, more professional landscaper. read more

Part of my fence fell apart and I wanted to have it repaired. I answered a couple questions and Yelp had a feature where I could send this information out to multiple businesses for quotes. I saw that TND was located in my area, so I decided to ask for a quote from them too. Within a couple minutes, I got a response...but it was NOT the response I was expecting. One of the questions was: "When do you required this service? " I answered with "Flexible" and his response was "Sorry, I'm booked for this time". I can understand if you no longer service my area or if you're too busy to pick up new clients, but just responding that you're booked for this time when I already marked that I was flexible shows POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE. read more

We don't normally write Yelp reviews but in this case, we couldn't in good conscience not write a review so that others don't end up duped by TND too. We hired Travis in June to complete a large project that included both landscaping as well as hardscaping. He assured us that the job would be completed in 2 weeks and that the bad Yelp reviews were written by disgruntled former employees. Shame on us for believing him. We are now in week 12 of our 2 week project with no end in sight. The job is no way near halfway complete. We paid Travis half the amount per our contract and now there aren't any workers showing up and Travis is no longer responding to texts or phone calls. A couple of other things... We received a legal notice from the concrete company that Travis hired threatening to put a lien on our house. Travis had not paid them and was refusing to answer their phone calls too! He kept telling us that this was paid when it wasn't! Travis does not provide his workers with port-a-potty facilities. We found them using a corner of our yard behind our shed as a urinal!! This is really unacceptable. Several weeks in to our project, Travis asked us for an additional 16,000$ for hardscape materials!! This was not agreed upon in our contract. If we didn't pay him this amount, he told us that we would need to find someone else to finish the project. In addition to this, he claimed that he did not have any funds available and would not return any of our deposit despite not having completed half the work. We are figuring out what our legal options are. We are also getting bids from other contractors who are shocked that our project was left in this state. If you looking for someone honest and trustworthy to complete your project, TND is not the company to hire. We learned this the hard way. read more

Travis and his crew did all our backyard work - installing a hot tub (in the ground), deck install, tree removal, new concrete, kitchen assembly, planter beds, electrical etc... His crew esp. Jose and Juan were meticulous and amazing. Yes it did take more time we thought it would but are very happy with the outcome and I would hire him for any future job I have. In addition to questionable practices, work which had to be re-done and multiple code violations we were left with very poor quality work which some items are still left to be repaired. I can requested for TND to come out and repair a fence which was poorly designed, thus the baseboards were rotting faster than they should have, pulling out the pickets from the fence and just making the whole assembly look dilapidated. TND were very professional, organized, on time and communicative. I had requested a quote for landscaping from a few companies from yelp, Travis was the very first and fast one to come check our yard, he was very friendly and confident, he told me he need only two day to do the whole work including remove dead and replace new large back yard lawn, remove 5 dead cypress trees and replace new strong trees, replace 4 fruit trees, 5 valves, test the sprinkler system and repair bad ones which caused the tree die, trim back yard tree branches from house. Travis and his team recently laid down some grass for a lawn in my backyard. The initial consult was thorough and he listened to all my questions and concerns. He also answered my emailed questions whenever I had them. Along with leveling the soil/lawn with my patio, they did some shrub removal, installed a sprinkler system, and re-hooked up the existing sprinklers I had. In addition, he added a drip system for a section of soil, in case I ever wanted to plant additional things there in the future. Travis also followed up via text and made sure I was satisfied. Hired TND to work on several fixes to our backyard over the summer. This included: 1) tearing out our old deck and replacing it with a new one, 2) re-tiling the small porch area that leads out to the backyard, 3) pour a concrete pad, and 4) install a fence on one side of the yard. However, there were issues with each of the individual projects and ultimately the end products results in shoddy workmanship. Issues: - Loose, uneven boards in the deck and fence. For the fence, there's at least three boards that are so loose they can wobble side to side to the touch. - Some boards in the deck have large knots/splinters. Also the stain applied after construction was done haphazardly. The first coat was practically slapped on (i.e. painted against the grain/circular patterns in some areas). When I complained about it, the explanation was that the wood would soak it right up and new layers would cover it up. The subsequent coats were applied so thick to cover it up that you can't really see the grain anymore (we specifically picked a transparent coat for that purpose). There are even some areas on the sides where they didn't paint at all. - The deck extends directly from the re-tiled porch area - as such, we talked about having the surfaces be at the same height accordingly. The re-tiled surface is at least 0.25 inches taller than the deck surface. To remedy this, they "bullnosed" the tile at an angle, but the tile is noticeably rough and jagged looking. - The new concrete pad is under a gutter downspout. They said they would add a downspout extender so rain would be diverted. Not only did they not provide the extender, but when I went to install it myself, realized that they poured the concrete so high that there's no room to slide the extender in. TL;DR. The overall experience and service was very inconsistent - initially it seemed Travis's team provided good feedback and were confident they could pull of the job. Calls for follow up work were met with curt responses. Our project was on the smaller scale, so maybe they felt it wasn't worth their time or full effort, but felt like they cut corners and left us very disappointed with the end results. read more

Our water main sprang a fairly large leak. I was referred to Tnd by a friend. Travis was out within the hour, stabilizing the leak, ensuring we would have water over the immediate days, while he arranged his schedule to accommodate a complete restoration. And it was no easy task, as the original water main was entangled by roots from the nearby trees and had to be excavated by hand. Well, what can I say, they never showed up to do the work they were supposed to do. Mid-April they agreed to take our pool out and have a soil engineer to verify the compacting as required by the city before the end of May. Things started to look suspicious when they told us that they could only do over Mother's day weekend. The week before after several emails I was told that the soil engineer wasn't available on the weekend but that they would check again. It was Friday evening before I was told, that they can't do the work because the engineer wont come. I asked them to come anyway and empty the pool so it won't turn into a swamp. Never heard from them again and spent part of the weekend pumping out the pool ourselves. Never again! read more

It was a pleasure to have Travis do the landscaping on our property. I already has a landscape design available. Travis from TND responded and worked with me to accomodate some changes to the original design. He provided a very competitive quote and was able to come in and work during the weekends since we wanted to get this done before the rains. He completed the work within 2 weekends, including 2 lawns, mulch, 4 large planter boxes, goldfine, and all plantings and irrigation. I provided the controller to install since I wanted a smart controller. So far, we have 6 irrigatin zones. We used the services of Travis and co twice - first time in May 2020 to pull out lawn and turf a section of our backyard. Second time in Jan 2021 to extend our backyard fence to use up some unused space, level and turf the area. They did an excellent job the first time, no complaints. The second time was absolutely disappointing. They were in a rush to finish the job, did not level the surface properly so now the surface is so uneven that we can feel the tree roots underneath. They did not fill up the edges with bedrocks so now we have a 2 inch gap between where the turf ends and the fence - a great place for leaves to get stuck and rot. The fence they put is of such a suboptimal quality that we started seeing cracks and gaps just a month after installation. It's been two months since we have been calling Travis to come and repair some of these issues, but he just won't take the call. We called from a different number once, and he did pickup. His usual promise is for us to text or call him the following Wednesday or Thursday so he can send people over yo repair. But, as expected, he did not respond when we called the following week. Now, he does not pickup our call from the other number either. Avoid these guys if you want quality. read more
