I happened upon Brite Ideas as I was coming out of Guitar Center. I had never been in a store like…read morethis, so I decided to walk in and take a look. I was immediately greeted by Chris and his daughter who were running the store that day. As I perused through the showroom floor I immediately could tell that the quality of products were superior to those that I would normally find at a big box store like Lowes or Costco. This was definitely commercial quality stuff. I expressed my concern over the pricing and Chris reassured me that while the pricing was higher, the durability would make up for this. He had numerous examples of customers from his other business, Best Yard, who have had the same products sold in Brite Ideas for years. It felt good knowing that there was so much knowledge and experience inside that store and that Chris is putting his money where his mouth is by opening this store, which tells me he believes in the product. All in all I was very happy with my experience inside Brite Ideas and I will certainly be back to purchase lighting products for my home. Chris even informed me that he has an on staff consultant who can help me decide what would be the best plan when decorating my home. With this kind of customer service I don't mind spending the extra $$ to get a product that will actually last and stand up to the Colorado elements, all while supporting a local family-owned business.

It's clean, the employees are pleasant, it's usually well-stocked, and occasionally they have amazing books. I have never heard of any of the movies on DVD, though. But that could be on me. I like books more than movies, usually. There are name brands in small containers, and other brands in larger ones. The seasonal stock changes frequently. I was happy to find tiny packages of flower bulbs, and seed packets too. There are also the smallest bags of potting mix ever, but useful for a pot or two. This is also an excellent place for party supplies, especially gift bags, and some floral/craft stuff. All in all, a great selection for a relatively small store. I went there to get small spray bottles for my Venus fly traps, but ended up with bulbs, seeds, rust remover, and a couple of other things.

That said, they have some genuinely unique pieces. I especially liked the Drew Small Swivel Chairs and a stylish patterned desk chair that had a great mid-century vibe. My only disappointment was that they don't offer assembly for a desk chair purchased by itself. At these prices, assembly should be included.

I started my holiday planning early and called them in early October to get a bid on putting lights on my house and a large tree. The guy who came, Dominic, said he could make the tree look spectacular. He told me to buy 4,000 ft of lights and said I'd also be charged for a boom lift to reach the tree. I agreed and was excited. I ordered over $2,000 in lights, paid $100 an hour for labor and paid $250 for the boom lift. They ended up using only ONE box of lights out of the SEVEN I had. When I saw the tree, I could not believe It. It looks like a joke. I called Dominic expressing my disappointment. He said he'd talk to his boss and get back to me. He never did. I talked to the office, sent them pics of this ridiculous tree, and they promised they'd send a crew out at the end of the week to make things right and do the tree how they had initially promised. I decided to give them a chance to redeem themselves, so I waited. Needless to say, they didn't fix It. The installer called right before my appointment time and said they didn't have a boom lift, but would try to get the lights as high as possible BY STANDING ON A TRUCK, but most of the lights would be on the bottom of the tree. So now I am left with thousands of dollars in lights, I'm too late to get on anyone else's schedule, and my tree looks ridiculous. I'm also out hundreds of dollars I spent on the boom lift that didn't get used and several hours in labor they charged me to throw up a few strands of lights. This is by far the worst experience I've had with any company I've ever hired for anything.

I was told they would have an estimator out within 24 hours and an email sent to me within the same time period with a possibility of working being completed within 36 hours. None of this has happened. It's been a week and a half. Because of the nature of my job I barely have time to fret over something that was promised to be done. Now it's too late for me to justify spending $2,000-$4,000 and putting in a solid second effort to get someone to want my business.
