What an awesome experience! Decided to go to a luau after all of our other plans were cancelled due to weather and boy was I glad we came! The show was entertaining. The staff/performers were great and friendly. The food was better than expected. Everyone receives a fresh flower lei regardless of seating which is very different than a lot of the other luaus I was looking up. Cousin Eddie is super funny and a great emcee. Definitely worth the trip to the north shore if you're staying in Waikiki (the north shore is great for other reasons too! But definitely attend this luau!) read more

Such a memorable experience! Outstanding food, phenomenal entertainment, fantastic hospitality, beautiful setting! We showed up ~45 min before our evening show time to check out Waimea valley - we had just enough time to walk to the waterfall and back to luau in time. Would recommend showing up even earlier for more time to explore Waimea valley - it's gorgeous! After getting back to the luau area, there was a decent line to get in but moved relatively quickly. Once at front of line, you check-in, greeted with a lei, then seated. You're then free to explore various stations - like dehusking a coconut! Then there is a cooking demonstration, which was informative and interesting. Then you get seated for dinner and the show! The food was all delicious - meat was flavorful, mac salad fantastic. Generous portions and they even came around asking people if they wanted seconds! The show was amazing - dancers were talented, emcee was engaging and funny. The fire knife dancing was extraordinary - amazing how strong and coordinated the dancers all are. After the show, the performers are available for photos. Highly recommend this luau, this was our first luau and we loved it! If we're ever back to Oahu with others, will definitely bring them here! read more

Best Luau out of 3 I've been to. You learn so much about a Polynesian culture. They are so hospitable, very interactive with humor mixed in. Great entertainment! You learn to Hula too! The food and drinks were amazing! Pulled pork was so tender, salad, macaroni salad, white rice, coconut cake, and a fruit plate. Everything was amazing! This was a fantastic show! Everything is so inclusive! If you arrive early the dancers show you different cultures aspects and it's hands on experiences such as making different head pieces, opening coconuts and so much more! I could not recommend anything better then this luau out! The food was great and the staff and dancers were so friendly, nice and welcoming! Definitely felt like a family! The performances were out of this world and so energetic and fun! If you are going to do anything when visiting Hawaii, this is a must do! You won't regret it!! Absolutely amazing! read more

A wonderful experience! From the delicious choices of foods and local dishes, to the enjoyable performances, and even the witty and engaging host, everything was well worth the price! Service was top notch and fully attentive! It also helps that the portions were very filling, since it was a full service buffet, we got extra pork and macaroni salad (my favorites!). Been to Hawaii many times and gone to a few luau in my day. While they all have different activities and styles, this one is definitely the tops! Its smaller than most and it makes a difference. Instead of 1 out of 400 getting to participate its more like 1 in 20 with the various things to do. The cooking demonstration was a nice touch (most just show pulling the imu pig) CE the Mcee was very good and the show spectacular, dancers seemed to love demonstrating their heritage vs others just laboring through a stage production. The food and drinks were outstanding! Did not feel mass produced and was table service vs a buffet line. Fair price and includes the botanical garden.....This is our go-to luau from now on. read more

My boyfriend and I doubted if we should even go to a luau and boy are we glad we ended up booking it! This was one of the most incredible experiences on my trip to Hawaii! There was never a dull moment from the minute you arrive; the luau was extremely entertaining and I was laughing through the whole night. Everyone treats you like ohana and THE FOOD IS INCREDIBLE. You can also visit the falls with your ticket. They are closed on Mondays but you can go back another day if you are in the area. Since we traveled far and planned it on Monday, we weren't able to see the falls but it was still a 10/10 experience. See for yourself, JUST BOOK IT. read more

Amazing experience. We've done plenty of luaus when we visit and this by far was the best. The performance, service, experience was a definite 10 out of 10. Interactions with the staff were heartfelt. The service was well over above and beyond. And the performance was nothing short of amazing. They truly enjoy what they do and you can see they're passionate about it. Definitely would recommend. And will visit and take friends here every time on future trips. read more

Upon arrival you are greeting by the smiles of the Toa family. You are given a beautiful lei and drink tickets. The drinks are strong and the non-alcoholic ones are super tasty. There is a pre-show area for workshops. You can learn how to braid a palm leaf crown, shuck a coconut, hula dance lesson, peel green bananas and poi lesson! During the workshop you have assistance and you are given a lesson on the cultural importance of each area that you participate in. Dinner is announced by a conch! Food: prepared by those who have been teaching and demonstrating throughout the presentation-luau. The food is PHENOMENAL! Great portions and amazing table service. You are served! Compared to the other places where you have to leave your table for food. Performance: you are invited to hear the song and see the dance of the Polynesian islands. 100/10 - Absolutely Amazing! TOA Luau was an experience I will never forget. The pre-show activities were so much fun and gave us a real feel for the culture before the main show even started. The performers were incredible--so much passion, energy, and love for their culture and storytelling. The food was delicious, and the atmosphere made you feel like you were part of something special. My best friend found them and booked our tickets (which wasn't easy--they fill up fast!). Hoosier's first time to the island and this was truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience. My husband, 3 yo, and I absolutely loved Toa luau. It was so authentic and the story telling by the MC was top notch. I found Toa Luau while looking for a luau to take X to. I've been to two other ones before - one at the Polynesian Cultural Center and another at the Sheraton Princess, when they were still doing luaus. This was, by far, the best one that we've been to. The food was actually really good. This was the first time I have finished all my food at a luau. The pork was actually super tender and the Mac salad perfect. It's all you care to enjoy, but they serve you. So whenever you want anything, you just need to ask. With the Gold ticket, you get two drink tickets that are valid for any cocktail, beer, hard seltzer, or soft drink. Any additional drinks outside of your package can be purchased with cash. The pre-show activities are great, we got to see the performers prepare some local dishes. They then put on an amazing show. Typically they only have 2-3 fire dancers at these luaus. But every male performer at the show was able to do the fire dance - with 2 specialty fire dancers featured. Truly, it felt like a very intimate, family-run luau and I cannot recommend it enough. It is a bit of a trek from Waikiki, but so, so worth it. read more

Overall I recommend. We had an issue with our tickets. We bought a noon show but asked if we could come to 5 o'clock show. Emails and texts confirmed date. Showed up at 5pm show and we were not on list. Highly disappointing. The girls at check in worked their magic but we missed most of the pre show entertainment. The show was fantastic and entertaining. The food was good. I like that it is brought to the table vs a buffet. If you want more of anything they will bring it to you. Drinks were well made. I am glad we chose this luau. The price of the ticket allows you an entry into the nature preserve with waterfall. read more

Everything was wonderful from start to finish. Only bummer (and to no control of their own) that it's been so dry here in that unfortunately the waterfall was not flowing which seeing/swimming in it was part of why we chose this spot. But, the gardens are gorgeous, the whole crew was so hospitable. The food was yummy! Show was beautiful! Don't know how they have any energy (or voices lol) left after all that. read more

This was truly a mind blowing experience and worth every dollar. I left in awe of the hawaiian spirit and culture. This experience allows you to feel closer to the islands and family mentality. Only positives: + free access to the garden +waterfall (you don't need to go to the same day of the luau and can go a separate day) +drink voucher with luau package +all seats have a great view of the performances +interactive activities before dinner including coconut husking, taro shaving, leaf weaving, etc +amazing cultural performances including a fire knife dance +traditional cooking ceremony +great food! pork, chicken, rice, mac salad, fruits, cake (all you can eat!) +amazing host! funny, charming comedian. +family atmosphere+ amazing hospitality. this is a family run business. This Luau was everything I expected and more! I had an amazing time with my friends and we enjoyed an amazing performance and celebration of Polynesian culture! The activities that happened before the lunch started consisted of some prep for the food and then some activities like headband weaving. The service was also amazing! Everybody was so kind and friendly there. They made it apparent that their goal was for everyone to feel welcomed and included. The cultural performances were also amazing to watch. I also loved how it was a family event and really showed amazing family values. And a huge plus was the food. The food was absolutely amazing! The most important part of this review: GO HERE! I read close to a hundred reviews of numerous Luaus before booking the Tao Luau. Based on their reviews I expected to enjoy the evening but what I found was much more than I had envisioned. The entire event was geared toward audience participation and interaction. The "cast" were the people who greeted you, sat you, served you and then entertained you. I am not going to give a synopsis of what to expect but I am going to say that the evening was by far the highlight of our time on the island. It was obvious that the staff were actually having a good time by their subtle interactions with each other on stage and that energy was transferred to the audience. Cee (Spelling?) was the Master of Ceremonies for the evening and he did an excellent job of educating about Polynesian culture and history while subtly breaking down barriers between the audience and performers. I have travelled extensively and been to many shows like what I expected the luau to be. They are typically nice and try to engage but usually are a bit lacking compared to their aspirations. Toa Luau is a clear exception to this generalization. They not only portrayed Polynesian culture in a positive way but made you feel like, in that moment, you were part of that culture and could have been at a barbecue in a friend's backyard. For a short time you aren't a tourist in Hawaii, in that moment the people of Toa Luau make you Ohana (family). Thank you from the "Speaking Chief"! read more

What a fantastic evening. The setting is the gorgeous Waimea valley. They make you feel like family and take care of you. Food for is great and they offer extra portion to anyone that wants it. Get there early and swim in the waterfall at the top. It's a hike, hot and sticky one, but worth it. Performers, demonstrations all top notch. Great time for the family. read more

What an amazing experience! So grateful we were recommended to come here by a local. My family and I thoroughly enjoyed every single second of the entire experience! The staff were phenomenal and provided exceptional customer service, the performances were unbelievably entertaining, the food was delicious, the location: STUNNING! I had my 4 year old and 8 month old with us and my 4 year old was dancing along with the performers having a blast and my 8 month old had his eyes wide open fully focused and watching closely. My daughter who usually hates any time we have to take her out of the pool said she had so much fun and was happy we came. The staff interacted with the kiddos, high-fiving, encouraging my daughter's dancing, super kind. It was an overall beautiful and wholesome experience. We had such an amazing time at this lū'au! We were looking for one that was rooted in culture and would be an educational experience for us to learn about the abundant hawaiian culture. We opted for the gold package, which provided a bit better of a view as well as comfier seats. The VIP seats are on the floor with the best view. As the lū'au started, we were able to partake in various cultural activities. The food was yummy and we loved that the dancing took us through various parts of Polynesia and not just hawai'i. The dancers were also the servers and the ones leading cultural activities. It was amazing to see them working together to put on such a wonderful event. when you book this, you get free access to waimea valley which I 100% recommend as it's gorgeous. mahalo for a wonderful first lū'au, Toa Luau! read more

This was our family's first luau, and it did not disappoint at all! Everything is perfect - food, cultural activities, cooking demonstration, welcome ceremony, dedication to Polynesian cultures symbolized by the authentic costumes, drums, and dances, and the sweat on the face and body of each "cousin". (Yes, they see each of them as cousins, as the spirit of one family is strong here!) It's a bit of a drive if you travel from Waikiki, but the experience is worth it. I would definitely take my family back here the next time we visit O'ahu. Mahalo! read more

The best part of our best vacation in Oahu. Every part of this experience was amazing and I truly felt like I got every dollar I spent out of it (and I don't say that for a lot of things!!). The interactive experiences were a ton of fun, the food was great, the host was so charismatic and could make it on the Laugh Factory, and best of all, the show was easily the best out of any luau I have seen. I didn't even mention the free entry in to the beautiful Waimea Valley garden and waterfall yet. I give it 6 stars out of 5. read more

I don't really leave reviews but felt this place was worthy of one. The MC was fantastic. One of the best tourist experiences I've had. The 12 year old fire twirler was out of this world good. He is also very funny, he basically did stand up comedy during the outside fire pit presentation. Overall my favorite thing we have done on Oahu. These people genuinely love what they do and I can't put money in their pockets fast enough. We will absolutely be back. read more

This is the final boss of ALL luaus. Nothing else compares to this one. Its worth every dollar we spent. Most luaus are 1 1/2 - 2 hours. This one is 3 hours long and its entertaining from beginning to end. Yes, if youre staying in waikiki, its a bit of a drive but you can plan your day around this because you also get access to swim in the lake/waterfall. Highly recommend read more

How many guests per luau?

At ours there were 25 tables of 8 guests each, so ~200. The space they used was full with that number. I think no more than 50 additional people would fit. It was in a covered outdoor area.

My mom is on a wheelchair but can walk a few steps. How far is the waterfall from the parking area? Will we be able to push her all the way to the waterfall?

I’d say about 3-5 weeks. If you have a for certain day and time you want then feel free to book earlier. They are flexible if you need to change days if available. This place is awesome!

I've never had trouble finding a spot, but pulling in and out can be tricky if there's traffic going by. Overall I'd give Crispy Grindz 4 stars. The pao de queijo alone makes it worth stopping for, while the other items I tried were good but not the best I've had. My family attended this luau with my sister-in-law's family. I researched so many luaus in Oahu to find the right one for our summer vacation, and this one is the only one with consistently high marks. It did not disappoint. First of all, the price of this luau includes your entrance into Waimea Valley which is an $18 value. I suggest getting there about 2 hours before the luau starts to leisurely walk through the Valley. The views inside with so many beautiful plants, flowers, and trees were remarkable. We would have taken more pictures if we had time, but we got there only 45 minutes before the start. I wanted to make sure we saw the waterfall at the end, so we didn't take as much time to look at everything. The luau is right outside the entrance/exit to Waimea Valley, and the host Cousin Billy personally showed us our table then invited us to participate with the performers of the luau who did different activities. One of them saw me and my family and invited us to watch how they prepare some of their food using large banana leaves and wrapping coconut milk inside them, then he let me try it myself. Everyone here was very friendly. My party of eight had our own table to ourselves, and we had a great view of the stage for the performances after the meal. They don't have long rows of tables and chairs where you are grouped together with so many people. Instead, they had round dining tables. We were one of the last ones to have access to the buffet, but they were still bringing out fresh trays of food while we were in line. Definitely enough food for everyone. My son was happy with all of the meat and rice, and my sister-in-law was impressed with the freshness and flavor of the fruit. There are some things to take into consideration about this luau. They do not have an extensive alcoholic mixed/cocktail drink menu. There is no shuttle to get you there. It is located in the North Shore, and they only had the luau on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. We were staying in Waikiki, but I felt that I would rather drive the distance to get a good value instead of settling for something that would have been closer but less satisfying and possibly more expensive. Where do I begin? This was the second luau I've attended, and Toa Luau absolutely blew us away. From the moment of booking to the final farewell, their service was exceptional. Originally, I purchased six tickets, but as more of our family wanted to join us on the day of our wedding (yes, our wedding day!), Toa Luau went above and beyond. Though they were sold out, a few phone calls later, their amazing team was able to accommodate our entire group. We were beyond grateful. Despite arriving a bit late due to our photo session running over, they still greeted us with warm smiles and sat us right up front near the stage. From that moment on, we truly felt like part of their ohana. The host was engaging and kept the energy high throughout the evening. The performers were authentic and deeply moving--the fire show, the dances, the music--it was all mesmerizing. In one unforgettable moment, the host even invited my bride and me on stage, placing leis around our necks to mark the occasion. It was incredibly touching and made us feel so special. The food and drinks? Fantastic. Every bite was flavorful and the portions were generous. If you're looking for a top-tier luau experience that's filled with heart, culture, and unforgettable memories--this is it. Aloha, I had the honor and privilege of visiting Toa Luau last week. Me and my fiance had the best time there, located in the beautiful country side of Oahu (waimea). Gave us the much needed break from busy, congested Waikiki. TOA LUAU let us experience actual ceremonies that take place in SAMOA. We saw how pigs were cooked island style, we got to peel green bananas, shave coconuts, basket weaving and head wraps using coconut tree leafs. Poi Balls demonstration. The host was named Cousin Billy and he was very entertaining and made you feel welcome to the Luau. After all the demonstrations and hands on activities ended we all sat in the beautiful pavilion for the actual LUAU which included a wonderful family band. The dancers were unbelievable, performed different dances from all the Islands within Polynesia. We then took part in a wonderful buffet, the food was to die for and we were stuffed ha. All throughout the LUAU they used people from the crowd to participate in the performance which made it even better. The show also included some of the best fire dancing I have ever seen!! If you have not ever been to a LUAU before I would highly suggest this one for you! If you have been to a LUAU in the past I highly recommend you check this one out and compare it to the one you saw before! Chaaaaa Hoo!!! We had an absolutely wonderful time at Toa Luau! From start to finish, everything was fantastic. The staff were incredibly friendly and made us feel so welcome. Unlike other luaus we've been to, the dinner here was served directly to our plates, which was such a nice touch--no need to navigate a buffet! They also offered unlimited refills, which kept everyone happy. The smaller, intimate setting under a covered patio was perfect, especially since we attended in the middle of the day. It felt personal and cozy, and the shade made it comfortable despite the daytime heat. The kids were thrilled with the show--especially the fire dance, which was nothing short of spectacular! Another highlight was that the luau ticket included admission to Waimea Falls. The 30-minute walk up the hill was scenic and totally worth it. We saw tons of native Hawaiian birds and snapped some amazing family photos along the way. The views were breathtaking! What an awesome Luau!!!! It's only been around for less than a year but the Family does such a wonderful job to give you more than just dinner and a show. It's a great experience. The venue is stunning (Waimea Valley) and its a hands on event. They demonstrate all that goes into preparing dinner in Hawaiian, Samoan and other pacific cultures. For about an hour before dinner there are stations for everyone to learn how to prepare a coconut, braid a palm headpiece and even drink from a coconut!! Great for all ages. The show was really nice too. They perform traditional dances from all cultures and the live band (a father and his 3 children) were AH-MAZING! Especially the younger son, voice of an angel!! At the end they do a fire show on the lawn that is really impressive!!! All in all, it was so worth it! We've been to bigger Luau's before but the intimate, personal feeling of this one was much more enjoyable. Definitely recommend this Luau on the North Shore. And if you're not staying up here, it's worth driving up. Jump the Waimea rock, hike the Valley's waterfall and STAY for this Luau!!! Also, super affordable and Delicious food!! I Loved Toa Luau!!!!! I have a 10 month old baby girl (who is now walking) and in an event like this my wife and I usually have our attention focused on her. At Toa Luau we didn't have to worry about her at all as the hosts also had their children that would come and play with her and the other kids which allowed us to enjoy the activities and the show. From beginning to end the Toa Luau made you feel as if you were part of their family. We laughed a lot as we participated in the activities. As we laughed we didn't care about making mistakes because it was just another reason to have the family laugh together. The food was delicious and at the end of the show the performers came and mingled with the guests taking pictures, answering questions and thanking us for being there. From singing acapella to having a band consisting of a dad and his young children, you just can't help but feel like you are part of not only a luau but a family gathering. I DEFINITELY RECOMMEND TOA LUAU AND LOOK FORWARD TO OUR NEXT TRIP TO HAWAII. There is only one way to find out if what I'm saying is true or not. There are several places on the island that host Luau's and I read up on many of them. This one sounded the best to me and my wife. She'd lived on Oahu about 30 years ago and described what goes on in a Luau and this Toa Luau excited her. So we figured we'd try it out one evening. Sure glad we did. We spent the day at Waimea bay beach which is located right across from where the Toa Luau is located. After the day at the beach, which is an awesome place as well, we ventured into the facility and did the hike to the Waimea Falls where we could swim and rinse off the salt water. How cool. Then we spent the evening at the Luau. They were great hosts and very entertaining. There were lots of activities to do, the food was fantastic and they were very authentic and serious about the culture/history of the Luau's. For this type of 'public event', it was one of the better ones I have been to as it wasn't just a show to push people through. Highly recommend Toa Luau! Many of the staff and performers are family, and they treated us like their extended family during our visit! We really felt their enthusiasm for sharing their culture, and their joy was infectious. The demonstrations were fun and engaging; the buffet was quite delicious; and the show was spectacular. Because this luau is smaller than most, we were able to get a good amount of attention during demonstrations, and there were no bad seats for the show/dinner. We purchased the silver package and still had a great view. Tickets include admission to Waimea Valley, which is such a bonus! We went in the morning and took the lovely walk to the waterfall; then went back to our condo to freshen up before coming back for luau. If you're staying on the North Shore, this is a great option. If you're staying further away, there are changing rooms and bathrooms near the falls. Either way, don't skip this! I will never forget the experience of swimming by the falls. All in all, Toa Luau was the highlight of our trip, and far exceeded our expectations. read more

I've herd of many luau's being big and fancy, having over 200 guests, but for this one it was less then 200 individuals attending. Big luau's are trying to excite you and bring you in to the activities they provide, unlike others this one was more intimate, meaning this one takes a lot of pride in their cultural history and the way they used to do things long ago. Ranging from husking and opening coconuts without the use of tools of today, making a leaf crown to wear throughout the luau. One guy will always stand out during the night and this guy was named "uncle billy" unfortunately his name was to long for anyone to even pronounce. He showed how tribes from different islands dance ranging from Hawaii to Samoa to Tahiti. One thing that does Stand our from different places is that uncle billy takes the time to show you how each tribe comes together for a celebration or when you welcome another tribe. It's worth every penny every minute waiting. This luau brings you closer to the native islands and closer to understand the culture. read more

This Luau was fantastic. It is located in the stunning Waimea Valley. They did a great job of demonstrating how traditional food was cooked and we had the opportunity to help prepare the food prior to cooking it. We and our 2 girls (4 &2) had the opportunity to play games, weave headbands from palm leaves, prepare bread fruit and bananas for cooking and watch how the meal was prepared traditionally. The music was excellent and preformed by a family, the dancing was wonderful and performed different dances from across Polynesia. The Food was incredible, and we even had the opportunity to try the traditional food that was prepared earlier during the dinner course. One of our favourite things about this Luau was intimate setting and family feel. It was fantastic for children and our girls cannot stop talking about how much fun they had. The highlights were the music and drumming and the fire dance that concluded the evening. Overall I would highly recommend this Luau. read more

Don't miss this event! Best deal on the island of Oahu! It's perfect to attend as you visit the North Shore. If you are looking to learn more about the Pacific Islands...it's history, culture, traditions, food...come to the Waimea Valley for 4 hours of entertainment and delicious food. Come earlier, it includes admission to Waimea Falls, where we were able to swim in the falls! The show starts at 4pm, where we participated in traditional games and activities of preparing a real pig roast!....and then eating a traditional island meal. It was delicious. After, they put on a beautiful show of the music and dances of the South Pacific Islands...ending with the fire dance. I can't say enough about the evening...my family left feeling like we were truly a part of the aloha feeling. What an amazing experience. It was my family's first luau and I'm so glad I choose this one. I felt is was a 3 for 1 deal. We got to explore the beautiful up kept grounds botanical gardens, waterfall and the luau. Since I had a toddler we chose to do the 12:30 show and have enough time to do everything after which helped work off that delicious meal. First they teach you. Host was very entertaining. Then they let you eat. The crew brought your food to the tables so you didn't have to stand in line. In which I prefer. The food was cooked to perfection. Could of had a little more salad but we did leave full. After lunch they entertained us with laughter by the host and dances. Pictures after. The have 2 beautiful peacocks walking around that showed off their beautiful feathers. My son got a kick out of that. We had a wonderful evening at the Toa Luau. The staff was so friendly and welcoming. What was different about this luau was that it wasn't just dinner and a show. It was a learning experience of the Polynesian culture with the warmth of the Aloha spirit and hospitality. We learned how to make headbands from palm leaves that we got to wear, my son helped to prepare coconut for traditional foods that we sampled, and we all participated in a welcoming ceremony. This was in addition to the traditional dances from different islands, the wonderful music from the band Sacred Fish, and the delicious food. I highly recommend this luau and would come back again. The price we paid included admission to the Waimea botanical garden and Waimea Falls. We walked to the waterfall and went swimming and enjoyed all of the beautiful flowers and plants on the way. The TOA Luau was absolutely incredible from start to finish! The food was delicious--especially the pork, which was perfectly cooked and so flavorful. They were so generous with the portions and even gave us extra! The hospitality was amazing--everyone was so kind and welcoming, making it feel like a true family atmosphere. There were lots of fun activities to enjoy before the show, and they really made the whole experience special for both adults and kids. And the show... WOW! It was unbelievable! The dancing, the music, and especially the fire show left us speechless. Our kids were so impressed--they couldn't stop talking about it afterward. If you're thinking about going, do it. This was my first luau and it was probably my favorite part of my whole 7 days in Hawaii. It's located in Waimea Valley. So we spent the afternoon looking at the beautiful botanical gardens. Took a short swim in the waterfalls-which is gorgeous! They had life vests for us to use and everything! Then ended our evening at Toa Luau! What an amazing day! The whole staff was super helpful with the little crafts. My daughter got a cute little woven headband. They were patient and sweet. The dancers were so fun! And great! My 5 year old daughter now howls in excitement like he dancers! (She also saw two young girls going up in one dance and she fell in love and now wants to dance like them!) The food is great too! I could have eaten about a hundred of those candied macadamia nuts they put in their salad. Yum! We had a blast! My goal is to come back in 5 years and I hope to come again! read more

First, need to start by saying that the location of this is beautiful but very very out of the way if you're staying anywhere but North Shore. It can take well over an hour to arrive if coming from the Waikiki area. The valley and the gardens included with your visit are probably the most enjoyable part. The waterfall is great and the lifeguards there are very helpful. As far as the luau, it's just okay and really relies upon the surroundings and the performers. Their demonstrations are good, but rather generic. The drinks are a bit weak and the food is fairly bland. There is certainly much better food on the island and cooking for a large group shows in the quality. Having visited luaus on Maui and in Waikiki I don't believe the drive is worth it. If you're on that side of the island, give it a go. Otherwise find somewhere closer. read more

We took our 2 sons and daughters-in-law to this Luah. The way it was publicized interested all of us plus we were staying on the north shore so we didn't have to drive too far. It exceeded our expectations. We loved that it was a smaller group, more personal attention and interaction between the Luau team and ourselves. So fun! We loved all the cultural experiences from weaving our own coconut leaf headbands, to cracking /grating coconuts, peeling bananas, and participating in a fun circle game with poles. The Luau team made it fun as they engaged us in conversations, made us laugh, learned our names, and taught us about a backyard luau. The buffet meal was delicious, and the show was both entertaining and interactive. One of our sons even got called up on stage. Hilarious! We highly recommend this luau to others. read more

From the host, greetings, to being seated, food service, entertainment and overall hospitality, I'd go to this show over again and again just to be surrounded by the kind employees who made our beautiful night possible. You can tell that this is a family owned business that takes pride in what they do, making every guest feel special, welcomed, taken good care of. One thing I'd suggest is adding lau lau to the menu (only because as a Hawaiian myself, our luaus always have lau lau - my favorite!) Being islanders we often forget our culture in this new age of society. I hope this company thrives so that we don't forget our roots. My husband and I just attended this Luau last week. I have been to many Luau's in Hawaii and this one was hands down the best I have been to. The event starts with a cultural experience where the staff helps you crack coconuts, prepare green bananas for dinner, make crowns with palm leaves, play games, and more. There is then a traditional Samoan ceremony followed by a delicious dinner. Then the show begins with beautiful singing, dancing and story telling. It is intimate, funny, enjoyable, and a very good learning experience for adults and children alike. It also serves alcoholic beverages which was a plus for us, as the other luau we attended on the north shore did not. We would definitely recommend! read more

Overall, we really enjoyed talking to the students working there part time while getting their education at BYU. And I think it was knowing the fee and cost was towards education that I felt much better this time in learning the background in connection with the school.

The show has a very loose story line tracking the life of a man from birth to middle age. Each phase of his life is danced out using a dance from one of the PCC's 6 islands. The storyline isn't really the main purpose of the show - it's more to feature the different countries' dances. If you accept that there's not much of a story, you'll likely enjoy: -the amazing backdrop (while the seating is covered from the rain, the show backdrop consists of real lush greenery) -the young kid dancing some excellent hula -the Tahiti women with their excellent butt swinging (it's memorizing but I don't know how else to describe it) -the Samoan fire show featuring men sitting on fire, putting fire on their feet and even one man putting fire in his mouth By the time the 7:30pm show ended, it was almost 9pm so you'll need to budget for a long dark drive to wherever your home is.

The story was captivating and it beautifully illustrated the culture well with lots of visual displays. The choreography was impressive. There must have been over a hundred performers in the show... there were special effects, animation, and high-tech surround sound and lighting which we enjoyed.
