I got the burger and a kombucha, which seemed like a standard order. I would say that the food was good, but not overwhelmingly tasty or filling - especially for the price. The burger wasn't a generic veggie pattie or pattie of mush, which was nice. I do appreciate, however, their commitment to being very clear about the ingredients and using real foods, not just fillers and wheat based products to make the dishes. Ordered takeout from here, it was so bad. As a vegetarian I really wanted to make this my go-to takeout. It was terrible though. They charge ridiculously high for small portions and also left out items from my order. I've been to Toad Style three times and after the last, I will never go back. The food is great, but there are a few problems here. I ordered the BBQ jackfruit sandwich for 9 or 10 bucks, but instead of a hero like the last time, it was less than half the size and served on a small burger bun. We also ordered cheese fries for $7 but when we asked for ketchup, we were told we'd have to pay $1.09 for a serving. Really? It's a good thing the cheeseburger came with ketchup on it already. Speaking of the cheeseburger, there was no cheese! Come on. You're making us vegans look bad! read more

Great service, fun environment, lots of options on the menu, but not quite the best tasting food. Again, I can't stress enough how amazing the staff is here, and the fact that there are plenty of options to choose from. My friend had been wanting to try this place out for over a year since moving to NYC, but we were disappointed with the flavors, or rather, the lack of. The fried pickles are a great deal in terms of the serving they give you, but there's not a lot of flavor, and the breading isn't all that great (my guess is because it's gluten-free.) The "pulled pork" was tasty, but not the best I've had (again, lacking a little flavor). We got a few other items, but were a little disappointed overall. If we were in the area again we'll give it another try. Always try something twice! read more

I love the food at Toad Style. It truly never disappoints. I used to love the gravy fries, but they're no longer offered. Everything I've had there is stellar. Delivery however can be a bit disappointing. On Seamless, they ask for a large delivery fee, and of course I tip on top of that, but they never bring the food to my door. They always call from the sidewalk, and have me come downstairs. I've even come down barefoot, thinking they might be at the door, and they made me come to the sidewalk to get my food. You'd think with a delivery fee AND tip, they could at least come ring my doorbell. I love this place, and will obviously keep ordering, but I hope that delivery will get a little better. read more

When moving to Brooklyn, when I found that there was a listing near Toad Style I knew I had to move there! I've brought my non vegan friends and they love this place. Food is always great, and they have super friendly staff that plays great music! I've never been disappointed with the food. Huge slide in quality. This is very sad for me because as you can see from my previous review I was really excited about this place. I don't know why it's taken me so long to review this place. I'm trying to think of why I'm giving it a four star out of five also...the food is good. And it's somewhat healthier for you, especially if you've watched and believe certain Netflix documentaries that tell you that anything besides plants entering your body will kill you. My personal favorite is the Philly which is packed with shrooms. It's savory and delicious. The burger in each iteration is quite tasty as well. They make good fries and really tasty vegan ketchup (i didn't realize regular ketchup wasn't) that's better than any ketchup I've had before. For brunch, the tofu scramble is pretty nice as well. Eventually I may travel through the remainder of the menu but everything I try seems to be well executed and I've had no complaints. About the place...the space is small and in summer it's hot and stuffy; you'll do better sitting outside on the bench. They should set up a proper patio. In winter, it can be cold af inside; don't plan to take your jacket off. The music is a little loud for the space sometimes so it's hard to have a semiprivate conversation with a friend as you have to yell to them; however if you like their brand or music you'll be soft rock vibin' tf out! A great shop in Bed Stuy. Everything on the menu looked tasty and was homemade. The staff told me they even make their own nut butter! I got the Banh Mi Tacos and pizza fries, which were both delicious. The mushrooms were coated and fried, and tasted almost like real meat. Great food for vegans and meat eaters alike. The bathroom leaves much to be desired, the menu is a little expensive, but the food really makes coming here worthwhile. read more

This was my first time trying a Vegan restaurant, or having a Vegan meal for that matter and LET. ME. TELL. YOU. the food here is AMAZING! I had the "Cheeseburger" which was mushroom and lentil patty which a bunch of other goodness and it was awesome! I also tried the fried cauliflower which no lie tasted like chicken tenders, and the bbq jackfruit was also delish. I can't forget about the cheese fries...good Lord! I'm a foodie to the heart and I love trying new things, but this was on a whole other level. It felt like Jesus himself came down and cooked this food, that's how great it was! Fried cauliflower...that's the first thing I'll say. It's amazing. I ordered fried cauliflower and a jackfruit BBQ sandwich (not that good) with a total of $26. It definitely wasn't worth $26 but I love supporting Black owned businesses. However, they should definitely consider charging lower especially given their location. read more

Brunch today. Jackfruit tacos were off the hook! The grilled cheese was... meh, and the fried pickles were ok but a little too vinegary for my taste. My experience with this place was very unprofessional they do not answer their phones do you go to a voicemail and basically it's like they tell you try again until you get somebody. Perhaps I was calling this busy time of the day it doesn't make a difference there should always be customer service as we are the customers purchasing items from your establishment. And blacking. As though it had been cooking and burnt oil for a period of time. The sandwich was absolutely horrible I took one bite spit it out due to the temperature of the food the food was cold. That sandwich would have taste much better had it been Hot there was no way I was going to put it in the microwave as I don't believe in nuking food. I try to make contact with them several times they refuse to pick up the telephone. I do not recommend this spot you take the chance and order from them if you want I don't know what it's like if you try to go to The Establishment and Order. My rating is a one if I could have given it it all 0 stars I would have. What's really down-low about it is that no one ever tried to reach back in contact with me from The Establishment regardless of how many times I called and that's really a horrible taste in my mouth pretty much like the sandwich that I ordered from them. read more

Good comfort food, with burgers and the like. I've had a few of their sandwiches and really liked them. In general the food is great, but my one disappointment was the fried pickle. It was just a giant dill pickle cut into quarters, lightly battered, and deep fried. There was too little batter given the size of the pickle and it didn't really adhere well, so it was just like eating an expensive (and hot) dill pickle. We found this place after arriving at our Airbnb cause we were starving and didn't feel like looking around for too long so we went inside even though the outside didn't look very welcoming. As soon as we stepped inside we saw this amazing little vegan restaurant with such a friendly staff. The wait wasn't too long and the food was surprisingly good and really flavourful. Wow!! I had the Bahn Mi tacos & a kale salad for lunch today.. it was the Perfect amount of food & just the right amount of spice (for the tacos).. The kale salad had, what I'm assuming is a vegan (nut) cheese, and it was AMAZING. Tasted like real feta, in texture & taste!! ;) DELICIOUS!! Best vegan spot in Bed-Stuy. Super friendly staff, socially conscious management, and great vibes. They have a unique, eclectic vegan menu with daily specials and options to customize. I've tried three different menu items and all were excellent. Today I had their faux Bahn Mí sandwich (vegan coconut-crusted fried 'oysters'), which I'd recommend regardless of whether you're vegan or not. The only drag is that Toad Style has a small space, so seating is kinda limited. Nonetheless, I recommend checking this place out.
