We stopped here for a late lunch before checking in to our hotel. There's plenty of seating and the food didn't take too long to come out. We ordered the carnitas tacos and the Cubano sandwich. Both were good, but pricey.

Big fan of the order at the register style. Food was good, portions are big. Great ambiance which fits with the ski town style. Employees are kind and willing to help make your experience a good one.

We stopped here for a quick dinner and ordered a wet burrito with verde salsa and the slow burn tacos. The food came very quickly to us. There were additional hot sauce / salsa varying from different level of heat you can add. However, I would say that the food that we ordered had quite a kick and we found ourselves sweating after the first few bites. Tasty but spicy. Overall great price for the amount of food that you get. We sat outside where there were plenty of outdoor seating. It's the type of dine in and clean up after yourself restaurant.

A must try if in the area! Has that small hole in the wall vibe but some of the best food in the area! Staff are extremely friendly and helpful! We ordered the carnitas and el pastor tacos and they were amazing! Each order is two very full tacos so be prepared to eat one and take the other home. You will not be disappointed by anything you order! If you're a hot sauce lover make sure to try their sauces. Be warned they do have a nice kick to them! We will definitely be back next season!

While visiting Warren, a friend recommended we come here for dinner. We didn't follow directions and came for a late breakfast. After spending far too much time deciding which of the options would be the best options to break our fast, we settled on chicken tacos and the yam tacos. There is outdoor seating, a small bar of seats by the ordering window for food, and more seats on the bar side of the establishment. It was a bit hot outside, so we sat under the covered walls across from the bar where it was much cooler. Good vibes, conversing locals, amazing food that came out fast. It's more than just a good taco place in Vermont! A water cooler of chilled water is near the bar for self service and you'll also find reusable flatware by the cooler.

Staff is very friendly and helpful. Small, hole in the wall with great food. It's a bit pricey, which we feel everything in Vermont has been. If you are expecting a clean, spacious restaurant, this is not the place for you. Definitely felt like walking in to a very old, dirty bar, cleanliness ... um, it's not here. But, the food is great. We tried the Slow Burn Tacos... I could have eaten a dozen of them! Very delicious! Kid had some type of Burrito and loved it . Definitely visit this place at least once, the food is good.

Unique environment in Waitsfield, VT. A craft beer bar on one side and restaurant seating on the other. The food is on the "messy" street food side of Tex-Mex. We got a chorizo quesadilla, carnitas tacos, and a kids beef taco. The proportions were just not right. Everything was solid and you get a lot of food. A couple of things were a bit unexpected. We ordered chips and salsa. But we only got 4-5 5 inch "circle" chips that we had to break up when we got home. It didn't yield much. Typically you get a fair amount of chips at Tex mex places, but not here. Second, the kids tacos were literally overflowing with beef. So much so that I thought the cheese was forgotten, but I eventually saw it on the bottom, in negligent amounts. If I lived here, I would probably come to appreciate the sum of its parts, and would visit from time to time, but for a one-off visit, we were a bit disappointed.

The best tacos in Vermont But the chicken sandwich (?!?) is to absolutely die for. Take the kimchee home- it's that good

My heart does not usually go pitter patter over fast food. Sadly, Canteen Creemee flew under my…read moreradar for the longest time after its 2016 opening, as a result. I was fooled by the burgers, fries, chili, chicken nuggets, and soft serve on the menu (similar to what its mediocre predecessor served at Country Creemee), and thought it was the same standard issue Sysco fare available at every other joint in town. But, my friends, learn from my mistake: Canteen Creemee is so much more than that. It doesn't serve just any old fast food. There is exceptional slow food on the menu that's made with care (if not always complete authenticity). It just happens to be served very quickly after you order it. There's the Straight Outta Bangkok. ($12; Menu description: "Anan traveled from Bangkok to spend his summer with us here at the CCC. So, this green curry is the real deal! Our fried chicken with Anan's coconut green curry served over rice. It's a little Sweet and a little Spicy!!!") Truth be told, I'm not entirely sure this dish is the real deal, lacking as it is in heat, pungency (e.g. from fish sauce), and identifiable vegetable matter. But no matter. Canteen Creemee's version is absolutely delicious, the chicken beautifully fried and beautifully crisp; the jasmine rice fragrant and silky; the sauce redolent with the heady scent of lemongrass. We found it to be a phenomenally good anodyne to a cold winter's day and eight hours of hardcore mogul skiing through a snowstorm. Actually, all of their fried chicken dishes are glorious. We happen to live near Charles' Pan Fried Chicken in NYC, which I would probably rank among the best sources of fried bird in the northeastern US. (I also grew up in the south with exposure to some pretty darn good fried chicken, so I flatter myself to think I have some informed opinions.) Canteen Creemee serves a different style, not quite as crusty, but as ethereally light and crispy and juicy as fried chicken can be. I think it might be every bit as good as Charles -- just in a very different style. Since the beginning, the menu has intrigued with traces of kimchi in interesting places: Kimchi grilled cheese, kimchi tots, and now kimchi stew. Again, if you're an authenticity stickler, you might be disappointed. There isn't quite the funk or heat that you might find in kimchi from the homeland, but those Dirty K-tots ($11.50; "Tahts loaded with our smoked pork, housemade kimchi, spicy mayo, cilantro, scallions.....") are a college kid's wet dream, the perfect food to accompany anything from Natty Light to Citizen Cider. Each component is made with care, the tots beautifully golden and crisp, the smoked pork tender as can be. Cabbage kimchi (made with standard issue green cabbage from I can tell) adds a pleasant touch of acid. I usually despise mayo based sauces, but the spicy mayo that was drizzled on our takeout order in moderation was not objectionable. I guess based on my expectations, I did not love the Jjigae Pork Belly Kimchi Stew ($14.00; "The flavors are clean, healthy and hearty! The spice is nice to warm you from the inside out on a cold winter day. Our house fermented kimchi is the base for this stew. Braised pork belly atop steamed rice with kimchi stew AND a runny side up egg.") Many of the components were nicely prepared, the pork belly tender as could be, the runny yolk a nice touch... And there was even a credible amount of heat in the dish. But we were hoping for something a little more stewy and less ricey, maybe with some tofu added. To be fair, kimchi jigae / chigai is a huge comfort food for me and I guess I'm hidebound about how I want it. It is objectively well made and delicious. There's no dining in, only a take-out counter located next to Mehuron's in Waitsfield's Village Square, with some picnic tables set out in warm weather (e.g. not in Dec, Jan and February when we are usually in the area). Don't be a fool and let this stop you from enjoying some truly interesting, innovative, well made comfort food all year round.

Overrated. Chicken is from Costco and owner is rude. Teenage kids working there are great and…read morecreemees are good, however.

Vermont has good food but - we seriously don't know how to do tacos. You go to a fancy Mexican place and pay $7-8 per taco. That is not a taco. There was a lull in ordering, so I just stood there for what felt like eternity (the guy before me gave up and walked off) and had a bit of a wait once I did order - but they only had two people on and a big demand. The menu just had street tacos 3 for $12, and two other options like quesadillas and one more thing. Of course I got tacos. It was well worth the wait, totally delicious, and true, authentic street tacos.
