Went to Toast bright and early right before they opened at 8 AM. My friends and I were one of the first to be seated. My friend and I had the avocado toast with hash brown chips while my other friends had the house French toast and house Benedict. Food arrived in a timely manner and everything tasted great! I also liked the fact that our waiter didn't rush us out despite the restaurant getting packed. We also ordered a bottle for morning mimosas and were glad that we could get refills for the juice we chose, in this case orange. Would definitely recommend giving Toast a try! Definitely enjoyed the ambience and vibe of the restaurant. Like everyone has mentioned, parking can be a bit hard the later you come because of the construction going on. The only thing I could ever think of that someone would complain about about this place is the price. The hosts and servers communicate very effectively about the tables and wait times. The kitchen is extremely effective at making sure every single plate that comes out is up to standard. The bartender is a magician I personally love the bartender Jesus. The lobster Benedict is a revelation. The country fried steak is also surprisingly delicious for a California Restaurant. As for ambience I can't really place one personally, it's fancy inside and when you come in you really just hear people talking which lets you know that everybody's having a good time, so I guess that is its own ambience. My daughter got a chocolate pancake which was huge, it was okay though, a little dry and heavy for my liking. My mom got the Santa Barbara Benedict and it was delicious too. The food at Toast was decent. However, when my child's food arrived, I noticed he wasn't eating much. I initially thought he wasn't hungry so we decided to take his chicken tenders to go. I took a bite into one of the chicken tenders when I got home and noticed they were excessively chewy... I decided to tear the tenders apart in order to Inspect them and found the chicken was completely pink and RAW! Totally unacceptable under any circumstances BUT especially for a child's plate! We came in on a Saturday night and it was pretty quiet. Ordered dinner and drinks. It used to be Claim Jumper so it still has the large layout but they've repurposed the space in slight ways. The first thing I noticed is there were no chocolate desserts. That is one thing I look forward to anytime I'm out for dinner. They have the glass case in front featuring desserts but no chocolate cake or anything with chocolate :( I ordered the club sandwich. The first bite was good but the sandwich was overall very messy. I'm not sure if they warmed the turkey before putting it together or if it was the bread but it was soggy and struggled to keep its shape. Huge mess in the end. The fries were good but I didn't want to eat a plate of fries for dinner. For drinks I ordered the Mule. I feel like it's always a safe bet and it was. Overall I'm not sure I'd return. My friends and I love going to their Toast location in Whittier all the time. When we heard they were opening up a location in Brea, we were excited. The utilization of the building was good. I'm not sure if they are done decorating or not because 80% of the walls are bare. They definitely need to add music in the background as there is just a lot of white noise from the customers and employees. On to the food. I ordered the S'mores French Toast. Half order as I know the full order is a lot at all the other locations. $11 + $5 to make it a combo with two sides. I added French fries and a salad. Took about 20 minutes to arrive(not bad at all). When it arrived the presentation was nice and pleasing to the eye. Upon cutting into it, the French Toast was tough to cut as it was cold. They torched the top to melt the toppings. My salad was luke warm and missing the croutons and my French fries were ok just over salted. And now for the employees and service, our waitress was super nice. She was very tentative at first but stopped checking up on us at the end and left us with empty waters for a while. We were Seated by the drink station where they would grab drinks for guests. We saw multiple employees on phones and drinking their beverages while on the floor. Overall, our experience was ok. Will definitely come back once they get dinner set up to try it out. read more

You need a reservation for Sunday brunch as the couple in front of me didn't have one and I heard the hostess say it would be a 2 hour wait. They didn't seat us until my friend arrived, which is a personal pet peeve of mine, but not a big deal. We came by for brunch and were seated at the bar, which we didn't mind. Service was excellent - very fast and friendly. The vibe inside is modern and chic. My brunch burger was ok - I think it would have definitely benefited from some more veggies and texture, but it was a good burger and the chorizo mixed in with the beef was a nice touch. Their fries were excellent. My friend got the santa barbara eggs benedict, which looked really tasty. And now, the negatives - parking was a mess. There's a big parking lot but it is not laid out well at all! Expect lots of dead ends and turning around and tons of circling. In addition, the check in process was absolute chaos. We had a reservation at 11 am and arrived at 11 am, but we were seated close to 11:30. There was a huge line that took forever to get to the front to check in, and then we waited another 15-20 minutes after checking in. While we waited, it was super crowded and loud with nowhere to stand. The people running the check in were clearly extremely overwhelmed. In all, the check in process was an absolute nightmare and a terrible first impression. But, again - the food was great and so was the service once we were seated. Upon arrival our table was not ready nor were the hostesses up front kind or attentive to the situation(we came 10 min early to check in so we can get the table ready before the celebrating arrived) we were not sat at the table until 1:10 which is no biggie we just had the celebrate wait outside in the scorching heat! Thankfully, all is well that ends well. Keanu was a gem!!!!! He handled our big party exceptionally! Drinks were topped off the whole time, special requests were not overlooked, he was just so great & attentive with our big party. Per the reviews of other helpers, I was not looking forward to the so called "over priced, underwhelming food." Food was great, prices were very reasonable AND holy cow they got the food out in a world record time, I'd say! We had to cut our little baby sprinkle game short because the food arrived.. but once everyone took bites, there was no regrets!
