So I've seen the good reviews for this place and decided to try this place out since it's so close to home. I've been here about three times and realized the place gets packed a little later in the morning so I was assuming this place must be out of this world. The first thing I noticed every time I have came with my wife is regardless of the space of the booths available, we were always directed upstairs and put to a small table to the corner. It's not a big deal and I understand how the seating charts work but just a little comfort for some space to stretch my legs would help but I'm a big boy and can suck it up but has nothing to do with this review. To begin with it, the servers seem very attentive. Regardless on how packed it was, my one waiter came around more often then I figured he would and this happened all three times we went. I realized it was a lot to deal with but being used to going to diners a lot I'm used to my coffee being filled regularly and checked often when I'm waiting for food and noticed it's not something they do often. It's the only downside of the service though as each time the sever was very friendly despite the rush. The main issue all and all came with the food. To start with a positive note, my wife enjoys maple syrup bacon which the cooks seem to pay extra attention to. Myself, I'm not a huge fan of it but seem to enjoy it. When our main courses came out the first thing I noticed was that it came out extremely fast in which it's something I would like but I ponder on why. I got the Brie and bacon omelette with corn beef hash on the side and my wife got the Cuban sandwich with sweet potato fries on the side. Automatically, I could tell my wife was not enjoying her Cuban sandwich. She immediately tasted that it was pre-cooked and most likely microwaved with vegetables put in. I usually relax my standards when it comes to different restaurants and tried it myself. To my realization, the sandwich was a complete insult to the name Cuban sandwich as in a Cuban sandwich the main ingredient you taste in the sandwich in the ham in it. With my food only, the omelette tasted as the cheese was left out the fridge too long and the corn beef hash was microwaved itself.(I have also tried the crab corn beef hash too and the crab tasted fresh out the can only wish they would use fresh crab but I get it, it saves money) Most likely, the owner would ask my why I wouldn't say anything and my answer would be I'm not confrontational about the food if I don't like it and I just charge it to the game. The thing is that on our drive home, both my wife and my stomachs were feeling some type of way and it had to be the food affecting it somehow. With the price being outrageous with just food being nuked just to get the customer in and out for the extra buck is quite disappointing and I felt my 50 bucks could of been utilized efficiently somewhere else. I've been to many spots before I can pay less for fresh food and quite delicious. To keep the conclusion short, please make the food fresh. I have no problem waiting for a good meal rather than eat quickly for some food made sub-par. read more

Decided to visit this place last minute on a Saturday with a friend. Didn't know it would have been so packed. The wait was about 40 minutes, however it was worth it. The food and customer service exceptional. Would definitely recommend and plan to visit again. read more

Normally I love this restaurant's eclectic, innovative and progressive menu. Food is usually prepared to perfection. That's why I chose to go here for my birthday brunch with my daughter. However, on this particular snow day, the manager Adam wouldn't let our table of two sit in a booth away from the door, but told us we needed to sit in the smaller booth near the windows and "nearby" heater. Ambient temperature was quite cold with no added heat. My huevos rancheros and my latte came to the table luke warm. By the time I got to the second egg, food was freezing. Offers to remake food are nice, waitress was extremely kind, but I didn't want to make my companion eat alone or eat another portion of food. Suggest you turn up the heat, or insulate the doors. We came here on a Saturday morning around 10:30 expecting a wait. We waited about 5 minutes until we were seating, which was pleasantly surprising. When we came upstairs, we saw at least 3 empty tables although there was a wait downstairs. Now the bad, we had to wait about 15 minutes to even see our waitress and get our drink orders in. It was about another 5 minutes before we received our waters. I know it's busy on the weekends but in my opinion that's far too long to wait just to see our waitress. We ordered the carrot cake pancakes, red velvet pancakes, Nutella French toast and the prosciutto scramble, which was a special. I was disappointed to see that the Po Boy wasn't available, as it was on the online menu. I will say before I got a chance to even bite into my red velvet pancakes, I noticed a short black hair on my dish. They were very courteous and brought me a new plate of pancakes. Overall the red velvet pancakes and carrot cake pancakes were very delicious and filling. The Nutella French toast was about average, it could've used some whipped cream to offset the sweetness. My girlfriend and I woke up at 7am feeling hungry so we decided to venture out to toast. She had just gone to a baby shower there the night before and thought it would be a nice breakfast spot. We walked in the door at 730am just as they opened. From the moment I walked in, the staff was so welcoming and friendly. We ordered the 3 things on the menu that we thought sounded the most amazing. (1) red velvet pancakes with cream cheese (2) Irish eggs Benedict (poached eggs with hollandaise on top of an English muffin, topped with corned beef hash and hash browns) (3) the lobster roll We started off with the lobster roll. Grilled bread,stuffed to capacity and then some, with lobster. It came with a side of crispy sweet potato fries. One dip of the lobster roll in the side of melted butter was perfection. I am also not someone who loves sweet potato fries as I find them to often be soggy, but these were the perfect amount of crunch without being overdone. Then we moved on to the Irish Benedict. The eggs were poached just the right amount. The hollandaise had a little more lemon than I'm used too which I absolutely loved, it really complemented the flavor of the yolk. I was also really impressed by the corned beef hash. It wasn't ur usual 'dog-food-like' meat with potatoes, it had chunks of corned beef mixed with just the right amount of hash and the seasoning was on point. Next we had our red velvet pancakes for dessert (fat man status). The pancakes were as if a fluffy red velvet cupcake was converted to pancake form. The cream cheese on the side added the usual flavor that red velvet needs (though I wish it was softer and in a pourable form). The service however was a level above what I'm used to. Okay so despite the reviews I read I decided to try this spot anyway. The food is seriously just basic. Nothing extravagant. I was excited mainly for the veggie sausage option because I'm vegetarian. I ordered a breakfast sandwich with veggie sausage and cheddar on a Kaiser roll. The veggie sausage was morning star y'all. I know the brand very well. So I was surprised that was the option. Toast is possibly one of the best breakfast/brunch places I've been to. The food is sort of "fancy" but without the high prices. The menu has delicious food combinations and the atmosphere is very cozy and fun. It was a bit busy when we went there on a Sunday morning, with lots of families and children, but we still had enough room to have a private conversation. Nice atmosphere and a nice variety of breakfast options. I was recommended to try the carrot cake pancake and it was indeed amazing!! The only downside was how close the tables were.
