I was really impressed by this cafe. It's just a hole in the wall but the food was delicious and the service was quick. It would be great if they had more than the 3 seats inside and the bench outside. So don't plan on eating here if it's raining...haha. I had the Buomdia Flat and a Berry lovers smoothie and both were excellent! I would be back again next time I'm in the area. read more

Visiting Boston for the first time and staying in the neighborhood, and we stumbled upon this quaint little sandwich place! Two of us had breakfast sandwich flats, and the other had a salad. Everything was fresh and made-to-order! The staff was super friendly and asked us several times if everything was good. Only reason I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is for the price. A little bit much for sandwich, but overall, delish! read more

This is a great spot for lunch right near the Maverick T station in East Boston. I ordered through the app and my toasted flat was ready to pick up by the time I got there (under 15 minutes). I got the Italian with extra hot peppers. It was a very filling sandwich, savory, tangy, and a little spicy. I would definitely head back for lunch any time I'm in East Boston. read more

Went here for breakfast and a coffee the other day! I love how the toasted flats have lightly hard boiled eggs. The yolk is still running and delicious. The bread is also so good from here. The coffee was delicious too, walk down to the wharf and watch the boats go by while you eat your breakfast. The staff is also extremely friendly! read more

I don't think I'm being dramatic in saying I would trade my (hypothetical) first born child for a Tuna Flat from this establishment. The women who work here are lovely as well and always remember my preferences on sandwiches. The Bom Dia breakfast flat is also delicious, as are the juices that I've tried. read more

I am a decaf coffee drinker and hoped to get decaf latte or cappuccino. However there was no decaf option at all. So instead I got smoothies, made from strawberries, banana, and yogurt. It was really good, but still a bit disappointing that no decaf potion. read more

This was a gem that I stumbled upon accidentally. I was staying at the Embassy Suites, whose restaurant had not yet opened and I was starving. Found TF on Yelp and I'm so happy I stopped in! My Mediterranean flat was delicious, and the service was friendly and fast. There isn't much seating (as in... only 2 bar stools at the bar), so just be prepared to takeout. But I highly recommend this restaurant! read more

This place just keeps getting better and better! The woman who owns this (and her employees) are fabulous! If you are searching for fresh, healthy, delicious food/juices/smoothies in the area, this is the ONLY place to go! The fresh cold pressed juices are so tasty and you can even pick your own ingredients if you don't like the suggested ones (although I've had most of them and they are great!!) They will make you literally anything! And fast! They do breakfast foods (hot and cold), salads, flats, smoothies, juices, gluten-free baked items that taste phenomenal! I'm there at least 2 times a week for lunch! Cannot get enough!! We are so lucky to have Toasted Flats in this area! read more

If I'm not mistaken, this place has undergone new management changes in the past few months. My first visit was fine, I was looking for apartments in the area about a year ago and stopped by for a quick bite. The flat ovens make the bread crunchy and crisp, and the cheese is melted perfectly. Recently I've gone in after the management change led to a breakfast offering and changed hours (this is a breakfast/lunch only place now) and the owner (?) Delila(h?) is a delight. The business is now quite ambitious, offering flats, breakfast flats, and salads -- and today I stopped by for a tuna melt and walked out with a new beet/cucumber/apple juice (yes, pressed juice). From what I understand, the business will continue adding fresh options to their menu, expanding the juice menu but still focusing on making great flats. Delila carefully and efficiently prepares eat flat to-order, so everything you're served is freshly cut and prepared. It's a wonderful and highly affordable addition to the food options in the area and I'm mildly ashamed to say I'm going to keep coming back. read more
