It's not the food's fault! It was our second time here while visiting our daughter for Parent's Weekend. The first visit was absolutely the best! Amazing food & excellent customer service. This was even due to having a brand new waitress. On this last visit, it was the worst experience We have ever had in a restaurant. Coffee mugs were dirty, food was served cold, utensils were never brought and the food orders were incomplete. It was a complete disappointment after months of looking forward to this brunch. Fortunately, the manager listened to my concerns and comped us our meal which was not necessary but appreciated. If we return on our next trip, it will only be due to her generosity. read more

Dude, I just had some of the best fried catfish in my whole life. And for $6 for a lunch special as well!. #FrugalFresh . The only disappointment I have is in myself, I didn't get the red haired waitresses name, but she was a doll, and extremely pleasant as she waited on our table. They were quite good for $10 and it was a healthy serving of food, but they forgot to bring the honey sriracha sauce until I had eaten about 1/3 of my food. I also decided to try the fried pickles, and I was quite impressed. They were $6 for a large portion (probably enough for 3-4 to share) and were hot and fresh. I recommend this place if you are in Huntsville and I'm looking forward to trying something else off the menu. My husband and I went here a year ago and the food was absolutely horrible and unedible. This year we decided to try it again and the food was slightly better. Except my poached egg was not done at all and when I complained I was told that I was wrong and they argued with me about it. My husband asked for his eggs to be placed on top of his biscuits and gravy, when the waitress came back with his food she told him that the cook said that he could do it himself. Today was my third, probably my last, time going to Toasted. The waiters/waitresses are nice and try to give you the best experience but the owner, Elisa Long, is horrible! She was very rude when my friend found a piece of hair in her chicken and waffles. When my friend first found the hair she mentioned it to our lovely waitresses who said she would take the food back and get the manager, which happened to be Elisa. When Elisa spoke to my friend she had a very rude tone and told my friend that they would not make her another meal, "she could barely see the hair," and offered my friend a 25% discount, the employee discount, when my friend hadn't eaten even half of the food. Elisa also said that if my friend wanted her food, that had already been taken to the back, she would bring it back out to her. When my friend brought it to our waitress' attention about how it was not right, my friend offered to pay for the 2 mimosas she had but not the chicken and waffles. Our waitress told Elisa and Elisa came back to our table this time being more rude than the first. She told my friend that it was okay for her to pay for just the mimosas but that she could never come back again when my friend was polite and calm the entire time. Elisa then said that me and my friends come there all the time and complain. It was my friends (one black and one Hispanic) and I (black) first time there together and neither of us has ever had anything negative to say about toasted. Overall the food is great for the price but the customer service needs a lot of work considering that this unacceptable behavior came from the owner. I think there were some servers that were not personable and that really hurt their service. My recommendation to the kitchen is to use fresh vegetables. I love this little place. It's a short walk from the new Pirkle building which is great! It's definitely a little college pub which is nice. They play relaxing music which helps me study and get work done while I'm eating. Their bathrooms could use some updating, but they're always clean. I like eating here, because the food is great and it's cheap. Its just really convenient. I've always had great service just from being kind and patient with the staff, because they're just college kids like me.
