This was my first time at Toasted and it came well reviewed by friends & family that live in Huntsville. Overall a great experience, the food came quickly and tasted good! I got the French toast with strawberries & chocolate chips, with bacon and hash browns. I was hoping the strawberries were going to be fresh, but they seemed to be frozen or from a jar/mix. The coffee was good and came in a unique mug! I sat outside which wasn't too terrible early in the morning, but there were some flies which made it hard to eat, one somehow got in my creamer too. Absolutely awful staff. We drove 2.5 hours to come have brunch; we arrive and see the establishment says that is is open from 7am-10pm, but a sign was on the door stating they were closed. I simply called the establishment for clarification; the lady who answered said, "no we are closed" and hung up. I called back, because I was confused by the signs and why she hung up on me. She then stated she did not hang up on me; I asked for clarification and she stated, "I said we're closed." I attempted to explain our excitement to try their establishment and the amount of travel time, however, she then interrupted me (in a very rude tone) stating "the kitchen is just closed". I told her I did not appreciate her rude tone and she then said she didn't want to deal with me and hung up. I do NOT recommend that anyone attempt to try this establishment. I attempted to call back to ask to speak to a manger to get the clarification I was seeking, but they put the phone off the hook so the busy tone remained and no calls could come in. Extremely unprofessional and extremely rude. Not the way you should treat someone who traveled from out of town to specifically try your establishment. We waited, and eventually a kitchen staff came out and we asked for clarification; apparently they close at 3pm during the summer (mind you, nothing on google or their signs states this). Been coming here for years and since about may of this year the food has gone downhill. Everything is microwaved where possible. Breakfast was the best in town, fresh bacon, sausage patties & the best eggs Benedict but they have gone down hill and their sausage patties now look like the same Jack in the Box uses. Pre made and cooked just microwaved and served. I understand that the pandemic has hurt a lot of businesses but cannot believe they would let the quality of food go down the drain like this. This was an amazing place to eat breakfast, So much to choose from. The staff friendly. It took only 15 minutes and we had our food. Big portions and delicious. You highly recommend eating there. I've been here a few times now and the service has been consistently slow. It took us 30-40 minutes to get our food today AFTER we ordered. Keep in mind, this was at lunch, which for most Huntsvillians we must get back to work within the hour.
