I am a bit of a health freak so a friend recommended I give Toastique in Highlands Ranch a try while I was in Denver recently. And boy I'm glad I did as it was amazing! No joke, probably the best Acai bowl I think I've ever had. So fresh, so tasty and such a cool looking presentation! It was a guilt-free party in my mouth! I had the PB + B Bowl (who doesn't love a little peanut butter, right?) and it was just divine. And honestly, a great value given the quality and freshness of the food/ingredients. Definitely gets 2 thumbs up from me. Then washed it down with a shockingly yummy Large Green Machine smoothie! What more can a guy ask for?!?! Oh, and did I mention how clean & appealing the store was and super friendly and helpful staff? Just a great all around experience for this health and finances conscious consumer. I wanted to like this place because the menu looked healthy and it had so many stellar reviews. Unfortunately we didn't even get to try the food as the customer service was so terrible. When we walked in, there were two girls working, but we weren't initially greeted and waited about 5 minutes for someone to take our order as we waited. Finally a girl came over to take our order, but from the start, she just seemed annoyed that we were even there. Her whole demeanor seemed really off putting, so much that I almost wanted to just pause and ask if she was ok. We ordered two toasts and two coffees, and I where I could get some water assuming it was a help yourself type of deal. She said she needed to fill the water bucket first and pointed to where the water would be. We sat down and after 10 minutes, I noticed she had put ice in the water bucket but no water. I thought maybe she started to fill it and forgot, so I walked over and asked if she wouldn't mind filling the water bucket. She seemed annoyed that I asked and replied that they were really busy with a bunch of doordash orders. At that point, it was clear that she was not going to fill the water bucket until she finished her other tasks, and if it was going to take them that long to fill basic customer service asks like providing water, it was going to take much longer to get coffee and toast. At that point we just decided to ask for a full refund. The girl provided the refund and handed me the receipt with no apology. Having worked in the restaurant industry in the past, I understand when things can get busy, but there were so many basic customer service needs that were missed, and an overall negative attitude that we ended up going to Lazy Dog and getting avocado toast there for a cheaper price and much friendlier staff! read more

I met a friend here for breakfast on Friday. We placed our order, but had to repeat it a couple of times. When we got the food, the eggs were overdone. To their defense, they did offer to bring new eggs, but the eggs should have been redone before it was brought out. I ordered salmon toast, but we received two of the same, which was what my friend ordered. Honestly, I wouldn't have noticed it, but we didn't get our coffees either. When I asked for the coffees, he actually spent a few minutes trying to find our order and then said we didn't order coffee. He kept fumbling around and asked if one of us had salmon. I said yes and he said we got the wrong order. He took the order, delivered the order and there was only one other group of two people there. It was very disorganized, and nothing was right. My daughter and I have been on the hunt for a good Acai bowl in Colorado for a while now. We've been spoiled by some great ones in California and other Beach cities. Excited to try Toastique as it's close. We each ordered a bowl. I realize they are not easy to make. In fact they are pretty tricky to make them look as awesome as they often do so I understand a bit of a wait. In this case, that wait was far too long as it was around 25 minutes. When we got them it did look nice but we no longer had time to eat at the establishment. I was also very disappointed that 2 bowls that were ordered after me came out before my bowl did. Then came the next issue. In all of the the times we've ordered bowls the granola was never a problem as it never came with nuts. My daughter is allergic to walnuts and there were walnuts in the granola. Because of this and the timing she had to eat around them as best as she can. I'd really like it if this was more obvious in the description as it would have been a major problem if my daughter didn't notice the nuts. Fact is, my bowl was one of the better ones I've had here. but the rest of the experience was lacking read more
