The four of us went to Tobias Frog on a Monday evening. We were seated quickly by the hostess and had a nice outdoor table. I think the outdoor space is nicely done and my son said they show lots of games on the tvs - even soccer. Our soft pretzel was served quickly and within a short time - our entrees arrived. Okay three big grown adults made eye contact with me and my group six times didn't say hi just ignored us like we didn't even exist. We sat there today for at least 15-20 minutes and not once did anyone even grab any water or give us any service, but continued to consistantly walk past us all and kept making eye contact with us, and still nobody stopped to serve us. mind you, it's one of the hottest summer days Today, you would think someone would have at least gave us some water. The restaurant vibe is fun and beachy; probably as close to the beach as you will get in Lancaster PA. Would highly recommend sitting outside if the weather is nice! The main courses were ok, not great. When the food got to the table almost all of the fries were cold, my fiancé burger bun was soggy and they got my order wrong so it was sent back. It took a while for my food to come back out, and by then all my dinner guests had finished. I would only go here for drinks & an appetizer. The main courses are certainly not worth it. I love the FL beach vibe, outside & inside! There's plenty of seating - inside in various room, and outside in the shade or the sun. Very vibrant and happy! The food is fantastic! Lobster mac & cheese, tacos, lots of variety of options! Their drinks are good. I was extremely impressed with our server who was very proactive when she found out I'm sensitive to gluten & dairy. When I told her what I'd like to order, she checked with the kitchen and then returned with multiple solutions for how they could make it safe for me. Wow! They have a jukebox that works off an app you can access on your phone - that's fun! Overall, a nice restaurant with a great vibe and excellent staff. read more

Food is average, nothing special. Best thing about the place is being able to enjoy sitting outside. Sat at the bar, ordered a soft drink (which I did get) & the bartender said she'd be back with a menu. 20 minutes later, despite trying to get the other bartender's attention by waving, saying "excuse me ", I finally had to whistle loudly which, of course was very annoying to the bartender. I apologized for having to whistle and explained that the other bartender had forgotten to bring me my menu, and then I have been waiting for quite some time to place an order. At that point the 2nd bartender came back and said "what's up?" to her coworker who then looked at me and said "I don't know, but I just got whistled at. " I (again) tried to explain that I had been attempting to get somebody's attention for quite some time without success. At that point, I could see he was obviously annoyed and I decided it just wasn't worth staying. I end up leaving. I will say that they were extremely busy, which obviously was part of the issue. For some reason, the bartenders were having to run drinks out to other areas around the bar even though there were two servers, standing at the other end of the bar talking with each other about personal issues. I was kind of puzzled as to why they weren't helping the bartenders get drinks out to customers. This isn't the first time the service at this place has been below average. Although they did seem very stressed because of the business of the place, which all of us can understand. Nothing terrible. The owner requested I remove the post. I did so for an associate as Tobias was participating in a benefit as a sponsor. Even exchanging a few private messages, I indicated we would give them another chance. That was good enough. The owner continued to complain about this even to another restaurant, the Union Station. Go somewhere else for dinner and then come here for drinks if you want to be outside. My fiance and I came on a slow Sunday night after a rain storm. We arrived about a half hour after it stopped raining. The host stand isn't obvious, set back from the gate entrance a good ways. 4 of the servers were standing around the host stand chatting. No one greeted us, so we figured it was bar-style self-seating. We found all of the tables and chairs wet, and several tables hadn't been cleared. My fiance went up to the host stand and asked for menus, as well as paper towels to dry off the seats and table. The drink specials were good. That night was a deal on drafts. This place has a good selection of seasonal, craft beer you won't find on-tap elsewhere. There are specials nights throughout the week. My fiance got a margarita that didn't taste like it had any tequila in it. Again, I wish we would have had dinner at home and then gone out for drinks. My burger, ordered medium rare, was well done, with the outside charred. It's not my responsibility as a customer to send it back to the kitchen. Any cook worth his salt should never send something like that out to a customer. My fiance got the buffalo chicken pretzel. For $9.99 she got a frozen soft pretzel with some buffalo sauce on it, next to no chicken (as the menu said it would have), and blue cheese crumbles. It looked gross and tasted the same. If you're interested in trying amphibian, their signature frog legs are delicious. They are very well seasoned and perfectly fried, so while the texture was not to my liking they tasted quite good. Everything else we had was decent. The most mediocre thing I had was the fish tacos, which were par for the course and somewhat uninspired. The zucchini medallions came with a tasty dipping sauce and were just thick enough to still resemble an actual vegetable. The fries were tasty and well cooked, and their mac and cheese, which I only had a few bites of, was phenomenal. They use real cheese and it shows. It's so nice to have a non-processed mac and cheese when many establishments opt for something that obviously comes from a box. The restaurant itself is set up a bit weirdly, and I was sat in a back room with very little traffic and somewhat loud music. I can tell that when warm weather hits the place to go here is the patio, which seems to be a signature part of their identity. It's a bit expensive but this is an interesting place to check out. read more

Our son asked to go there for his birthday in August. Our waiter was amazing and the food and drinks were great. For lunch we spent over $200 not including a generous tip. As we were leaving , our path was blocked, so I walked around the bar area (bar is in the middle and there was a clear path on all sides) I was accosted by a young "waitress" who yelled as I walked , "next time go the other way". I turned around confused because I didn't think I heard her right and I said "what" and she responded, "You heard me". I was embarrassed and shook at her tone and disrespect toward a customer. I walked up to the hostess who was very sweet and told her what happened and wanted to speak with the manager and as I spoke to the hostess, the waitress came up and said "now what's the problem". At this point I was no longer embarrassed but furious. This woman had ruined a wonderful birthday meal/experience for our family. I have to admit I called her a bitch and left. I got in my car and for almost 45 minutes tried calling the restaurant but the phone number was busy the entire time (someone didn't want my call to go through). The next day I called and left a message for the manager, which was never returned, then tried reaching the owner on Linked and never heard back. If you like being abused, this is the place for you. Food is typically goo however the beet & goat cheese salad calls for candied walnuts and they were plain walnuts... there is a drastic difference and it ruined the salad & expectation. When I brought this to the servers attention, he didn't even know what candied walnuts were, which in my opinion is a lack of training this server. But furthermore, he took the salad back and when he returned he said that the chefs confirmed what they use so they lied. We recently dined here and I ordered the rockfish tacos. I've had them before and they were delicious. This time it took forever for our order and they were barely warm and smelled fishy.
