My "old faithful" glasses had finally broken on me, and I was in a bind today. Dr Mark & his team really came through for me. I'd been a patient there for years, and I knew I could count on Dr Mark and his team. I went in for an eye exam, and after I picked out a new frame and placed the order through my insurance, Dr Mark asked if I wanted him to make me a set of glasses that would be ready today, so I didn't have to wear my broken glasses. He had some great affordable frame/lens combinations, and within 2 hours of my appointment I had, essentially, a new pair of glasses that when I get my new one will be a faithful backup just in case. My FSA Insurance denied the claim from the optometrist because I never received the portion of the document that shows my prescription, appt information etc. This is something I then had to request from them and they had to send it via mail due to HIPAA but, yet I know that there are secure ways to authenticate my identity. Seemed like a slow and disorganized place. I went to Today's Vision Gateway based on the amazingly positive reviews. I had a difficult time when they didn't inform me about large price differences in contact exams vs eyeglasses. The process of returning for a contact try-on appointment was also not enjoyable (1.5 hrs long in total) and frustrating as the contacts came in a month later than promised. Overall, I have had better experiences at a mall LensCrafters or other independent local stores. I wish them the best, but will not be returning. read more

Went there for exam and contacts, tried few different samples, decided to go with one of them, went ahead and got a 6-pack ordered. The actual lens felt somewhat slightly different from the sample after using it for few times. (i only use contacts on the days when i use DSLR, so it is like 3 to 5 days out of a month) Later on i found out that the actual ordered lens was 0.25 differ from the good sample. They ordered it based on a bad sample instead of the good one. read more

Pay is very low with no compensation, have commission but its regulate with strict rules. I visited the Gateway location to have a prescription filled. Mind you I had my own frames. During the exam their was no explanation. Then we sat down and ordered my lenses which came to a total of 400.00 out of pocket with insurance. I call my insurance company to confirm what my out of pocket charge would be. Come to find out, I was highly overcharged. Mind you, just three months ago I had the same frame filled with the same specs. Waited three weeks for my former optometrist to inform me they filled the wrong script. My out of pocket cost was 285.00. Today's Vision charged my just about double 400.00. With no logical explanation. The day of the appt. I was leery when he quoted the 400.00 and requested an itemized receipt. I was told they would text it to me. A day passes and I end up calling them the following day to get the receipt. I had them cancel my order, I won't be back! read more

I stopped by Today's Vision for contact lenses and had simply the best experience compared to other previously visited establishments. You may see reviews that state the contrary, but all I can say is that I was provided stellar welcoming service and had every one of my questions answered. I stopped by for contact lenses which I had last purchased when I was 14. I was never able to put them on but 16 years later I wanted to give them another shot. Lawrence assisted me by finding exactly what I needed and discussed everything I needed to know. Dr Chavana was very nice and welcoming and accepted my walk in very quickly despite the fact that I did not have an appointment. Within about an hour their staff had everything ready and taught me how to put them on before I left the building. I now can say I defeated my younger self and Today's Visions staff were very happy that they were able to help. I will not say that the other reviews should be entirely disregarded as we each have an opportunity to voice our opinions. Ok. They had the best deal for lenses since I didn't need new frames. I bought frames from them in2016. I would never buy frames for them as they vastly overcharge and the frames are just ok but then again it could be the brand that was expensive not them. My real gripe is their service. I had a great experience the first time I went to this eye doctor in 2015. I can't remember the name of the woman who helped me pick out my glasses, but she was delightful. Last year was another story. I'm overweight and used to doctors asking uncomfortable questions, but Dr. Chavana asked me four times (FOUR TIMES) if I have diabetes. I'd recently had a blood test and know for sure that I am not diabetic, not even pre-diabetic, so I could truthfully tell him no each time. After the fourth time I asked him if he saw any signs of problems in my eyes that would relate to diabetes. He said no, my eyes were perfectly healthy, which leads me to believe that he was only asking because I'm overweight and not having the congruent health problems that go along with being heavier was just baffling to him. I'd rather get my eyes checked without a side of fat shaming, so I'm never going back. read more

time to update this. as stated 3 years ago, it's still about the same. i read reviews otherwise and still went. lack of quality frames to choose from and they keep you waiting during your exam even though no one else is there! i was befuddled, restless and just turned off by the experience. i should've known better but they did comp a digital glaucoma test instead of dilating my eyes so that was cool. it just seemed that no matter how quickly i tried to do things there, it took long. don't go there unless you really just have to. read more

Update: Called and they said they would mail out my copy. They have not. Will not be returning to this office anymore. Back when I first went, the service was great and they provided me a copy of my prescription which I would hand to my ophthalmologist due to an eye condition I have. This second time around, seeing the doctor went well but when it came to me asking for my prescription they said "it wasn't ready" and I proceeded to ask for it three times and when they shipped my order (which they have said was to arrive before I left town but did not) they have said they would send it along with it. They did not. Under law, they already have failed to do a simple task of giving my prescription and because of this, my specialist was annoyed and I had to reschedule to another day. This lack of doing is actually costing eye research and it is frustrating that I have to ask more than 3 times for it. Will not return and rather drive 1 hour to see my previous eye doctor. read more

Can I give negative stars? Ordered contacts from 1800contacts and they called Today's Vision to verify my prescription. The geniuses at Today's Vision said the prescription had expired and they canceled my order. Of course, the prescription HAD NOT expired, I had been in during April to update everything & do my yearly exam. So 1800contacts called once more to verify and TV acknowledged their mistake. So I replaced the order, but now 1800contacts needed that verified prescription from the doctor. 1800contacts contacted TV on Nov 11th, 12th and 13th trying to get them to fax over my information to no avail. This place has literally the WORST customer service I've ever experienced. It's not one of two isolated experiences, it's a consistent way of doing business for them. Avoid at all possible costs - I'm calling them today ONE FINAL TIME to get them to f***ing fax my information over so I can get my contacts and that's it. I'm switching over to Eye Joy which I've heard great things about. read more

They "forgot" to tell me that less that 1% ever have more than two procedures in their life! So why do I need "lifetime" enhancements again? What a load! I will not be going back here. In fact I feel like I need to go get my eyes rechecked. They are not thorough, the Dr. seems a bit disheveled or disorganized, I'm not sure he really was all there when he looked at my eyes. Of course they charged me $80.00 for a contact fitting-which is normal, however they then called me and told me they forgot which contacts they fitted me for and asked me the brand and my prescription. How do you not have this written down? When I came back to pick up more samples-they did not have them ready. And they don't always answer their phone. Again, my biggest issue is that I don't feel comfortable that my eye exam was done thoroughly and I may go to a different dr. To check something that has been bothering me. The dr. I came to Today's Vision for a new pair of "backup" eyeglasses today. In addition, I had a special request to get transition lenses for a separate pair of eyeglasses --my fancy "main" pair, which I got from another store. I bought the fancy frames without lenses, while I was out-of-town, at a specialty vintage-ish eyeglass store. Mike (staff at Today's Vision) was great -- my special request was no problem, and he even found a way to apply a teacher appreciation deal to my purchase! I got my new backup eyeglasses, plus lenses for my fancy frames, all at a really great price. Teachers -- check this place out! Right now they have a BOGO deal going on for Back-to-School/Teacher Appreciation. And Mike (front desk staff & doctor's son) is super helpful. There are a lot of teachers in their family-- it sounds like Dr. Chavana was a teacher before he became an optometrist. I also like how quick and easy it was for me to shop for my new backup glasses. I got info when I asked for it, and got space to shop around. Lastly, I should add a note about Dr. Chavana. I had my eye exam with him months ago (and ordered contact lenses). My prescription is excellent. I switched to Dr. Chavana after trying out another optometrist in the area, who gave me a prescription weaker than I had worn in 2 years. Dr. Chavana took time with me during my exam to get it right. Eye exams are sometimes tricky for me (why is it so hard to tell if no. 1 or no. 2 is clearer?!?!). This doc knows his stuff and has a great way of answering questions --must be that teacher background! read more

The customer service here was great! I had some of my sunglass lenses break, and they were able to figure out what kind I needed and order them for me. A different sunglass place wouldn't help just because I didn't buy them originally there, but the people at vision works were happy to help. Mimi (the optician) was incredibly sweet and made me not feel like such a dork-o goober when I did dorky/goobery things and I would like to be her best friend. Mike (the other optician who helped me out with my glasses) was also quite friendly and kindly commiserated with me over my awful insurance and limited choice of frames. Dr. Chavana was also very kind (do you see the theme of this review?) and got me in and out quickly. I want to give like, two stars for my overall experience because my insurance made me pick from a very VERY limited glasses selection and I almost had to ironically choose some old man aviator-type frames. But that is not the fault of the lovely people at Today's Vision. Protip: if you ever have a choice between vision insurance, don't use Davis Vision. And hey, company owners out there: for the love of god please be nice to your visually-impaired employees and don't make them use Davis Vision. What has this review become? I'm so sorry, guys. Most of the negative reviews you will notice are really old. I was here about 4 mo ago and everyone I came into contact with were super friendly, efficient and didn't push me into purchasing all the add ons! I read Yelp reviews before I go anywhere new and while the reviews were bad, this location was convenient and worked with my schedule. I wear contacts so I can't speak about the experience when purchasing glasses. They did need to order my contacts (most optometry offices do) but I got a call within a week letting me know they were ready for me to pick up. Overall experience: fast and easy. I live far south but this experience will bring me back north next year! read more

Went in for an eye exam. They are taking great preventative measures for being sanitary during Covid. They take your temperature at the door, masks are required, and they have you wash your hands prior to the exam. Their equipment is new and great technology. Staff was very friendly. read more

Dr. Chavana is amazing! He has personally gone above and beyond to make our family happy. We originally came to him looking for frames after receiving poor treatment at a different optometrist. I'm sure he could have found something to charge us for after all the help he provided (he even verified my prescription as a courtesy) but he was fair, friendly, and polite. They have a great selection of frames too!!! His staff is pretty good. However, the guy who helps you pick out frames is notorious for trying to upsell you. Don't be afraid to ask questions about what he's trying to sell you because there is most likely a much cheaper alternative to what he suggests. I purchased some Versace and Gucci frames so it's not like I'm a bum. Maybe he's on commission?? Having said that he has always been polite and does give you what you want if you know what to ask for. Overall, I have to recommend this place!
