Footing Under Garage Wall
David L.

I have a detached garage, and I needed to run two Schedule 40 conduits from my service panel, underground, and into the garage wall. The problem was that there was a huge concrete footing under the wall (about 20 inches deep). My best option was to dig out the dirt under the footing, and then core-drill two holes through the bottom plate of the wall, all the way through the concrete footing. It was hard to find companies that specialize in core drilling, so I was really lucky to find "Todd's Core Drilling" in Costa Mesa. I called them, and spoke to the owner, Jim Todd, who was very friendly and helpful. He told me that his son Craig could do the job the next morning. Craig showed up promptly the next morning, and core-drilled two perfect holes in the bottom plate of my garage wall, which I never would have been able to do myself. The price was very reasonable. Craig was very friendly, did a quality job, and cleaned things up before he left. This is an excellent company; friendly, prompt, and great pricing. Highly recommended!

Concrete cutting incompetence.

I called these guys to do concrete cutting. Jim Todd's only focus is how much he's going to get paid and how quickly he can get paid. He thinks that showing up early is better than showing up on time. He charged me $600 and was on the job maybe two hours. His son caused damage to the property, cutting through a clean-out in the driveway. My call from Jim was "I got to get out of here, I've been here long enough. I need to get paid. It's just a little trap, I want to get out of here". Not only did he not take responsibility for the damage caused, he made light of it. Todd coring is an embarrassment to the construction industry. I will be contacting the Contractors State License Board to file an official complaint.

These guys are as good as it gets when it comes to fast and amazing work. I had a gas fire pit with 8x8x16 cinder filled with concrete that I put fake stone on top of. This fake stone Crap I put over the cinder shattered when I was applying it because it was such bad material. Having to core this out along with the cinder i figured it was going to be a mess and have to repair after inspection. They went through it like butter and it was SO clean I won't have to repair.(pictures above) So thankful we found these guys. Bill and his son were beyond clean and professional. When you see them roll up in the 550 you know they know what they're doing.

Augered a 26 foot pipe under my driveway. On budget. The guy has the right tools and has been doing this for years.

The customer service was outstanding. Sarah and Nora were wonderful to work with so helpful, friendly, and always great with communication throughout the entire process. JC was also such a pleasure to work with. He was knowledgeable, responsive, kind, respectful and made everything feel easy and stress- free. The crew on site did an incredible job. They were professional, friendly, hardworking, helpful, and always kept everything tidy. You can tell they truly take pride in their work. We even decided to add an additional scope of work, and David was able to get us a quote and have the work completed all in the same day which was beyond impressive! From the first conversation to the final result, everything exceeded our expectations. Our yard looks amazing, and we couldn't be happier. It was truly a 10/10 experience, and we highly recommend California Outdoor Living to anyone looking to create a beautiful outdoor space!

I would not recommend this company. Their lack of attention to detail made the entire experience…read moreunpleasant. The drainage tube was installed with the slope going the wrong direction, and the walls were not properly covered before the concrete was poured, leaving concrete splatter all over the side walls. The concrete also cracked less than three days after it was poured. It was poured on Monday morning, and on Wednesday the artificial turf guy was using a large plate compactor right next to the two-day-old concrete. I believe the vibration from that equipment contributed to the cracking. When I spoke with JC about the issue, he told me that concrete will crack sooner or later and that is why they do not warranty cracks. Concrete was poured directly on top of the soil, no gravel was brought first. While I understand that concrete can crack over time, I did not expect it to crack before I had even made my final payment. Despite my disappointment, I paid the remaining balance. After that, I never received any follow-up confirmation that the payment was received , or even a simple thank you.

A few months go by and our old backyard fence was in the final stage of falling apart so we contacted Alex (aka turtle) who provided the initial quote for us and he came back out and gave us the final numbers and all. Chris the project manager was always in communication with us and his foreman Ivan was always on site and answered any questions we had. Couldn't be more pleased with the result, would recommend them to anyone.

I originally connected with them through Thumbtack for a sizable project and scheduled an appointment for Thursday, June 4th at 11:00 a.m. The appointment was canceled just 20 minutes before they were due to arrive. To salvage the opportunity, the salesperson, Chris, texted me and offered to come the following day at noon instead, along with a 5% discount for the inconvenience. I rearranged my schedule twice to accommodate them during what was already an exceptionally difficult time, as I was preparing to say goodbye to my 16-year-old dog that weekend. Chris did arrive on Friday as promised, but a week has now passed and I have received neither a bid nor any follow-up communication from anyone at the company. Shortly after the appointment, their Thumbtack profile was also removed or hidden. While I can't say why, the timing was odd, as it prevented me from leaving a review on the platform where we originally connected. I've uploaded screenshots with this review documenting the interaction, including Chris's last-minute cancellation, his offer of a 5% discount, and the Thumbtack notification showing the company was no longer available on the platform. If reliability, communication, and follow-through are important to you, I would recommend looking elsewhere.

He took the time to explain every detail, visited our home twice, and remained flexible when we decided to adjust the extension area. The crew was efficient, friendly, and equipped with impressive machinery. We were particularly struck by the value offered; Roman Concrete was the only company to provide 3500 PSI concrete while maintaining a very competitive price. Their attention to detail was outstanding--from the thorough cleanup to the fact that two team members stayed for four hours just to ensure the concrete dried undisturbed. My husband and I highly recommend Roman Concrete. The final result is beautiful, and we look forward to working with them again in the future.

Andrew and his team have tons of experience and are absolute pros. As usual, Andrew's pricing was very reasonable, and the work he did upgrading our garage with custom cabinets and a beautiful epoxy floor was top-notch. Beyond the craftsmanship, his experience is invaluable. He offered incredible advice on the layout, usability, and where to install specific items to maximize the space. Andrew was promptly available for appointments, took precise measurements, and created a highly detailed design diagram so we could collaborate on dimensions, materials, and placement. His customer service is also next-level: after the job was complete, we noticed the texture of the floor flakes wasn't quite as smooth as our previous house. Without a second thought, Andrew sent his team back out to smooth it down and apply an extra topcoat. I highly recommend Andrew and his team to anyone looking to upgrade their garage or cabinetry or closets. They will absolutely be my top choice for future projects.

We got a few quotes, and Infinity was the lowest bid. That was only part of our decision process, however, as we wanted it to be done right. After their process was explained to us, we felt comfortable that they would most likely do a good job. And, they did! Our patio looks great! The guys who did the job worked really hard and were meticulous. Due to weather issues, the job was delayed a few weeks. While unavoidable, that was disappointing. What made it a lot less frustrating was the very timely communication by Andrew, always keeping us updated on status. He was a real pleasure to work with. Our patio should look good for many years, but if we ever need resurfacing again, we would definitely use Infinity.
