Ok, we were looking for a place to cut our kids' hair. We didn't want to go back to one of the places we'd done it before, and the other kids spot was closed so we needed to try someplace new. We yelped it, drove by & decided to walk in. It was a Monday, around noon. We walked in and it wasn't too busy. Maybe 2-3 customers in there, at most, with 3 stylists. I was surprised that I liked it. The first stylist didn't seem too friendly in the beginning but totally warmed up and interacted well with our kids the entire time. Perhaps he was busy finishing up his previous appointment so he wasn't too engaged when greeting us, but like I said, he totally did a 180 and was great. I think it was the owner but I'm not positive. It was $20/haircut per child, which is slightly higher and slightly lower than the other 2 places we go so it fell right in the middle. I've had the same hair dresser for nearly 30 years. What can I say? I'm loyal. And I don't like change. But, Todd came highly recommended so I took the leap and let him work his magic. I'll be honest. I was scared. I told him I wanted to warm up my color and do long layers. (My hair was one length all around, to my waist.) As he was adding highlights, I tried to go with the flow. When he started to cut layers around my face, I was downright white knuckling the chair. I kept saying to myself ... if I don't like it, it'll grow back. It'll grow back. Deeeeep breaths. I have struggled always trying to find a hairstylist that would "listen" to me about how I wanted my hair cut. I would usually leave the salon almost in tears and feeling like a "newborn bird". Finally, I have discovered Todd and he is the first to "listen". He cut my hair as I asked him too and put in highlights the color I wanted. I've been going here for quite some time now. Brendon does my hair, he's great! Usually I just sit down and ask him to do whatever he thinks will look good and I'm never disappointed. Todd's a great guy too, what a character! The haircuts are affordable, especially for the Santa Clarita area, and haven't changed all the years I've been going. The clients range from kids to seniors, men, women, Caucasian, Asian, etc. Many senior citizens visit the salon as well. What makes these guys even better, they will pick up and drop off their regular clients who can't drive anymore, and have no other means to get there. Two downsides (hence the 4 stars): 1) Almost every time I go, they kinda push getting your nails done. A few of the times, it's been rushed. 2) It's crowded, they've outgrown their salon and need a bigger place. read more
