Recently, I hired them for a much larger project that included major culvert repair, removing four trees, stump removal, installing a beautiful new patio, creating a stone bed under my deck, laying fresh sod, forming a new garden bed, and maintenance on existing beds. Today I spoke with their customer service lady who yelled at me over the phone because I noted that the spring cleaning was not done well and asked to correct it. I called multiple times just to get them out for an estimate for lawn care services. An appt. Was set, and the person kept me waiting for 40-45 minutes at the house because even though they had the right address, they went to the wrong house and talked to a different person there. Then once at this location - after I called - they never got back with an estimate for the work. I even called to let them know I never received the estimate. Still, no call back or email after the person said she would have the representative call me that day. Not to be trusted - unreliable and needs constant inquiries just to get more business!! Neighbor uses this company. I, along with two other neighbors just saw them blow all my neighbors leaves, some trash that blew into her yard and a her newspaper (in a plastic bag!) into my yard. Wow. When I told them clean it up you would not have believed the denial and temper. I guess since three different houses saw them do it they felt obliged to aggressively unpack, restart the blower and clear their mess. Glad I am a big guy would have been scary for some others I suspect. Glad I have cameras as well. What a low quality crew. Looking at the review here I guess I understand the aggressive behavior. I usually do not write reviews but I would not want anyone experience what we have with this company. First of all, they did Not come on the scheduled day of work and did not even bother to notify us. Secondly, we hired them for yard clean up, weeding and mulching and after TWO weeks weeds are growing all over and my yard looks like NOTHING has been to it. The bushes are not trimmed evenly. I called ToGo about the quality of work they did and they told me that they will come back to fix it but they never have. We understand that weeds grow back and yard needs maintenance but it should NOT be growing back in 2 weeks. I would NOT recommend ToGo to anyone. This company provided poor service in cutting my grass. I complained the first time they came out and had to send pictures to them and only offer they made was to talk to their team. other times they came, I had to instruct the mowers where they needed to finish cutting before they left. The grass was never cut close or even. The company emailed an invoice for the month of June before they had provided service on the 29th; which I complained to them that I do not pay for services before it is done. They claimed something about additional charges if they have to split the bill. After they came on the 29th, unfortunately I was not at hom, I returned and noticed the same poor quality of grass cutting. I complained to the company and had to send pictit's again. I told them I should not have to pay for poor service. They told me the manager came out to see the grass and agreed to have the crew come and finish the grass. The crew never came back which I told them; they requested pictures again. Sent pics and then they claimed the crew did come out. They are liars and since I was waiting for them to finish the grass before I paid them for the month of June, they are trying to increase my co. I immediately terminated them and they want to charge me since they claimed they required a 2 week notice. The company never gave me a contract nor told me they require a 2week notice which I never agreed to. I would never recommend them to anyone. They provide poor customer service and they have unethical practice, as well as poor quality in grass cuttin. read more

TOGO did a really nice job on our "spring cleanup" this year and, after that , we engaged them to mow the lawn every week. So far, they have been very timely in arriving, mowing, and cleaning up any remaining clippings that end up in the driveway or around our backyard deck. Absolutely not recommending this company! We had the spring cleanup done and have them put a little fence around a small area that I grow vegetables in, to ward off critters. They took the deposit but didn't schedule anything. I called them a week after and they gave me a vague answer. I had to contact many times before they sent someone to do the spring cleanup. They finished half the work and asked for money. I asked them to complete the job, which they did after three weeks of calling but showed up without telling me first. Even though I specifically asked to tell me before so I can be home when they come. A couple of days after the works was completed, I noticed parts of metal fence are rusted. I called the office and asked them to replace them. First, they said, they bought it at home depot so not their fault if they are rusting. Then they said they will talk to the manager. It's been over two months of daily calling, but they have not done anything about it. I always give people benefit of the doubt that is why I waited so long to write this review. But now I need to tell others to watch out for these cheaters. They take the money but don't complete the job. Customer service is not their priority. We have been using Togo for years and have always been very happy. We recently had a large yard clean up, weed the beds, mulch all of the beds, clean gutters and repair an exposed gutter drain pipe. I obviously didn't need to tell you that togo landscaping is a terrible service. late, low quality, etc. They have a 2 star review for a reason. But they are also criminal. They charged me twice for every time they came--charging weekly, expected weekly, mowing once every 2 weeks. They have been unsuccessfully seeking these payments from me for 2 years, adding laughable "service charges" to an account that's been paid and closed. These people aren't just a terrible company because of quality, they are terrible because of the people, because of the fraudulent charges, and most of all because they are just liars. I used TOGO Landscaping for the first time this spring season. it will be my one and only time, never again!! I asked for a quote for spring cleaning all landscape beds, trimming all bushes and shrubs, and laying dark mulch. The employee who wrote my quote was fired by them a week later. When calling to schedule the services I was told that, Joel the owner, would not be honoring the quotes this employee wrote and would have to do a new quote. The services didnt change much and all was confirmed. The day came for the services to be performed, I paid a one-third deposit before that, to come home that day to find that none of the bushes and shrubs had been trimmed!! When questioned, the office admin said that "trimming" had been removed from the quote but the price had not changed. I didn't notice this when I paid my deposit. Why remove all trimming??? I called many times to dispute this and could never speak to Joel and he never called me to discuss the issue. I found this to be very unprofessional and discourteous. So, be careful with TOGO, they don't honor their quotes and severely overcharge. Their are other landscaper options to choose from!! read more

Had an appointment for an estimate at 1:00. Received a call at 1:15 stating the estimator was at the front door and no one was home. I opened the door and instructed the lady that called the estimator was not there. She said she'd call me back. At 1:25, she called and said the estimator knocked on the door and no one came so he left. To be late is one thing but to lie on top of it. Not worth the hassle. I have used Togo Landscaping multiple times. First, I had a $7500 brick paver patio installed 7 years ago. It was installed perfectly and the crew was quick and courteous. Second, I used Togo to remove all front yard shrubs from my sisters new home, and prep the ground for a new design. They worked so hard and it really allowed her the ability to design and execute a new landscape. Third, I used Togo this year to de-weed and mulch my entire yard. The gentleman that they sent over worked so hard over two days get the job done. I have used other companies for mulching and witnessed (via my ring doorbell) crew members opening bagged mulch and tossing it everywhere without removing weeds. I will say that Togo has done the best job yet. I see a lot of reviews complaining about telephone customer service but I really don't care about that as long as they get the job done! read more

Better yet they tagged a $5 late charge on my bill when I disputed the actual work. THEY NEVER DID THE WORK. Terrible. Avoid at all costs. Customer service was terrible. We only had them for a few mows, and I think they only came the first time (when I didn't even have grass yet on April 1st) but billed me 2 additional times and didn't mow my lawn at all. I am outside every day with my dog and would know if my grass was cut - especially when the grass is long. They wouldn't even check it out. It may have started out as an honest mistake on their part such as mowing the incorrect house or forgetting to put our house on the agenda, but they made no attempt to rectify the situation. I have never been spoken to like that by any customer service representative before. Their reasonable price is not worth it. They said it would go to collections if I didn't pay. They answered our texts promptly and thoroughly. They cut my lawn when it was wet several times leaving excessive cut grass and clumps resulting in brown patches throughout my lawn. I called and complained a couple of times with no response. After six weeks of attempting to connect to just "talk" about work, after missing an appointment where I took off work to try to meet their unaccommodating schedule, they called to cancel again because of rain. Our family has been with TOGO Landscaping for 10 years and the fact that you're reading the words "10 YEARS" means they are at the top of their game! Their workers are so nice, friendly and very customer service oriented! You can set your clock by them! In other words, over the last 10 years they have promptly and consistently performed the task at my home every other Monday between 1:00 and 2:00 pm. LIKE CLOCK WORK!!! I have NO IDEA what these goons here are talking about regarding getting in touch with someone when you call -- 95% of the time they pickup the phone (during official office hours) and when they can't I've ALWAYS received a call back within the hour!!! So, despite being off to a completely bumpy start...we stuck with Togo for the season. The price can't be beat and our yard is too crazy for us to do it ourselves. The service still leaves much to be desired. There were times they skipped an entire patch of our yard untouched...I'm talking about almost a month and a half of growth in one of our hills. Then on the flip side...they kept mowing our yard (at least most of it) despite the grass not growing with the lack of rain we had. Billing is not always correct...so you have to keep an eye on that. I had better luck talking to the other woman in the office who isn't connected to the main line. We'll see what next year brings. read more

I called on 3/12/15 for a quote on tree trimming. Vinnie came out on 3/13/15 and delivered a reasonable quote. I called on 3/16 and scheduled the work for 3/20, it snowed so they rescheduled for 3/27. On 3/27 it rained, so I called and they said 3/30. They didn't show up, so I called on 3/31 and they promised to be there that day and they didn't show. My wife called on 4/1/15 and they said we were on the list for that day, she called again on 4/2/15 and again we were on the list. It's now 4/3/15 and no work has been done. If they don't want the job fine, but stop lying to us daily about coming out to do the work!!! read more

I have used Togo for three seasons now and the price is reasonable, the mowing is fast, consistently done, and when I have needed to change the schedule there have not been any issues. I've had one billing hiccup in the three seasons. But I do agree with many of the reviews here about customer service and some common sense: * It's very difficult to talk with someone live. I leave a message or send an email; * I once asked about the aerating and never got a response; * If your scheduled day of mowing is, say, a Tuesday, they will be there Tuesday and they will mow whether you need it or not, whether the yard is too wet or too dry. Once their heavy mower tore up my backyard pretty badly when the yard was way too wet; * Language communication is a problem. Some of the guys who do the work are nice enough but they don't speak or understand much English. This is a problem when you need something addressed while on-site. * They do get an early start on their day. I wish they would abide by Montgomery County law on these early morning start times. In the end, what I care about is the yard is mowed properly, the trimming and vacuuming are done, and the price is reasonable. Togo does that for me, but I am aware of the customer service warts. read more

I hired Togo to mow the yard for the 2015 season. They did an ok job with the mowing but when there was a lack of rain toward the latter half of summer I had to call and put a stop to the service. Every week even though the lawn was brown and dusty they were there to mow! I asked for an estimate to trim the bushes. I got an estimate with no explanation of what they would do and when. I called to find out but NEVER got a call back. I spoke with Tish and asked have someone call me to explain the estimate and to hold off on the work since the weather was so dry. I didn't want to damage the bushes (we have a lot). She said they would schedule it for later in September. I called again because I never heard from anyone regarding the explanation of services. I spoke to Tish who said she couldn't find the estimate in file. Someone would call me to schedule another look. Guess what? No call! I waited a week, called Tish fired them for services and asked how they have been in business so long with such bad customer service and follow up. Her explanation was "we couldn't do any work without the estimate". I said if you called me, I would have provided a copy that you left me weeks prior. Don't waste your time. Find another service. We engaged Togo to provide lawn care services. Last year, Togo caused a significant damage to our property. The damage includes: fence door, fence, vinyl siding and the lawn itself. Over the course of the six months, we have followed up numerous times by email or phone call but the company told us that the message will be passed on to the manager or someone will come to fix the damage. As of this time, the damage has not been repaired. We have terminated our contract with Togo. read more

We mow our own lawn, but we hired Togo to take out a tree beside our driveway. In spite of the fact that we hired them in the past, they show complete disregard for property otherwise. Our nextdoor neighbor hires them for mowing. The same crew comes every time, it takes them about 10 minutes to mow a half acre with their two gigantic noisy mowers. There are no chutes on the mowers, probably so they don't have to rake or bag clumps of grass (isn't that illegal?), so the mowers shred and throw all sticks, stones, and trash debris into our windows when they drive between the houses, leaving a mess on our side. There are large trees on both properties, which drop small branches in windstorms. If the branches are too small to run over and crush with the mower, they actually stop the mower, get off, pick up the branch, and THROW IT onto the neighbor's yard! I figured they were doing it, but I actually caught them in the act this time and went out and yelled at them. Also, they come out in the fall when the leaves start dropping and run over the neighbor's yard to chop up all of the leaves. The same thing happens--the chuteless mowers throw large piles of chopped leaves onto our property. Last year they came out the day after I had raked our leaves, making me have to go out again to clean up their mess. This company has a total disregard for people, have no work ethic, and don't even apologize when they are caught in the act of dumping on someone else's property! If you want to have friendly neighbors, don't hire these people! read more

I wish I could give these guys negative stars! In a word they are CROOKS! Stay away. I signed a contract for weekly lawn mowing services in mid-April. Despite repeated emails and calls, they never showed up until May 1st. They bill from the 25th to the 24th of every month and they billed me promptly on May 1st for April- EVEN THOUGH THEY NEVER PROVIDED ANY SERVICES IN APRIL! They don't answer the phone and don't respond to emails (or even letters sent to them via certified delivery) and they did their disappearing act throughout May. At the end of May I paid in full for the few times they managed to show up in May, but they claimed I owed them late fees for the April bill. In frustration, I just paid their crooked "extra charges" and then I fired them and hired a new service that is already performing much better. DO NOT TRUST THESE CROOKS. Absolutely horrible. Should have read the reviews prior to hiring them. Their advertisement of $20 lawn mowing is false! They also state that they give first mowing free yet I have a balance on our statement over 60 days still even after calling and speaking to them and they told me they would honor and how much to send the check for. Then they left our gates open and my dogs got loose for hours by a busy road! Thankfully a Good Samaritan found Them and they weren't hurt. Did the company show any remorse or reimbursement? No!
