In July 2017 Tokay Heating & Air installed a new Air Conditioner in our home and since they recommended changing out the heater as well, we did so. The owner talked the business up promising superior product and service, but what we have experienced is just the opposite. First of all it was promised that all heating/air ducts would be checked and sealed, this was not done and when we called Tokay for this to be accomplished, their service guy Brain called us back instead and read my husband the riot act, before coming back out to perform the task. Then, later in early November when the cold snap started we tried to turn on the heater and it would not work. We called again, this time Brian came out and stayed about 5 mins. said the gas was too low so he opened the valve all the way and left saying it was fixed. The heater would not come on the next morning we called again, he came out again this time we mentioned the noxious fumes coming out of the flue they installed, and he told us it was normal. Said he fixed it again (fine tuning to the burner) and left. The heater never worked properly, took 5 hours to heat up the house in the mornings or anytime we turned it on. Brian came out at least four more times each time claiming the fumes to be normal exhaust (they made me sick to my stomach they were so strong) and the heater was functioning normally - it was not! On November 27th, another service guy came out saying there was nothing wrong with our heater and that the owner Ron had said that this was the last time he was coming out for "free" although he gave us a years service contract, not to mention his contractual liability to do so in the case. So, I began an email correspondence with him concerning the matter and received nothing but denials from him and we actually total us we were crazy and that "it was impossible" for gas to escape from the flue. On Dec. 5th I went to turn on my stove to cook dinner and we were totally out of propane (something that has never happened in the 20+ years that we have lived here) and we had just had it refilled Nov. 9th and in all our years here, that would have lasted us until at least March, but had only lasted less than and month, because of the furnaces spewing out unused propane to the tune of at least 290 gallons in less than two months. We are a retired couple on a fixed income and could not afford a nearly $1,000 propane bill for less than two months! I continued to ask Ron for help without response until Dec. 19th and he came back out with Brian and another service guy they tested the unit for quite some time and couldn't find the problem and just before they left he sent Brian up to the roof tp check the gas fumes and low a behold they found out we were right they were coming out of the flue. He quickly gathered his things and his crew and left, saying they replace the heating unit and they did on Dec. 22nd, later stating that it was a gas valve problem and they'd fix it and sell it to someone else! In all the time dealing with the problem we kept begging that they check for gas leakage and they never brought their meter, because Ron the owner arrogantly and steadfastly refused to believe it as leaking propane, I even reminded them in the email prior to them doing so, to bring the gas tester on the last service call, as we had asked all along. Bottom line: We had to experience rude, dismissive and indignant treatment by both Ron and his service staff after paying him in excess of $11,000. We also, over heard them poking fun of us while they replaced the heater, We froze for two months in freezing and near freezing temps, had to forego Christmas this year because of excessive propane costs, and am arthritic and can barely walk now because the extreme cold in my own home and Ron refuses to even repay us for the excess propane outlay. We are outside Tokay's normal service area. We use Coleman's HVAC exclusively, but no local dealers on the Coleman website, so we called TOKAY in Lodi. Burl graciously agreed to send his team all the way to CH to do a major removal of a 20+ yr old Coleman system, and install a new 3-ton A/C and Furnace. Brian came on a Friday, we accepted the proposal, the team were there on Monday, right before the surprise 90+ degree days. We knew this was not going to be an easy installation. The team (Luis, Alex and Maurizio) arrived on time, began the arduous work of removing the old system (rusted!) and installing the new one. They encountered several mechanical and electrical issues that required thinking "outside the box", and fast, for them to solve. Those issues could have legitimately delayed installation, but this team was very experienced, their level of expertise was far above what we have experienced with other companies. They came up with solutions, worked so well together. When they went under the house they noticed a plumbing leak, (which we are so grateful they noticed) - and worked around it. They had to cut new holes in the roof, find a way to work around our irrigation system (which we hould have relocated prior), install new electrical boxes, amazed at the extent of work to be done to execute a perfect installation that meets code. They worked very hard, finished an amazing installation, on time, we can't say enough good things about Tokay.10 stars! The 90 degree days that immediately ensued were met with our HVAC system that purrred quietly and cooled so well. Everything Brian said would be done, and how it would be done was done. Hello. I love to write positive reviews instead of negative. This is one of the most positive I have ever written. My heater would not come on central ac and heat. I called tokay heat and air. They ha just replaced a neighbors entire unit. Anyway they were here in less than 2 hrs. The gentleman who came Brian ran some tests and checked it out on the roof of course. Brian gave me an excellent description of everything I asked about. He gave me a work order with cost of repairs. 2 days later he was able to come back with pc board (control board) and an overheat switch. It also needed to be chemically cleaned. He did all that needed to be done in a short amount of time. Then he answered more of my questions. He is an exceptional technician and communicator with his customers. I Highly Recommend ask for Brian.. Also there was another gentleman named Rick who came over after Brians first visit. He spent a lot of time with me and discussed all my options. Needless to say I was and still am very impressed with this company. When you get lucky and deal with very honest and decent people which seems sometimes rare these days, it is a fantastic thing when you find someone like them. I have been using Remington as my service tech for about 10 years now. He is amazing. His work ethic is something you do not see nowadays. He is easy to talk with and he explains everything to you in great detail. He is extremely honest and forthright. He is very knowledgable & I trust him 100% If he has a recommendation for something, I will have it done. Over the years my rental property had an AC unit that was not taken care of properly. The nick name for the unitI gave it was "the little engine that could". He did everything possible to fix the unit and make it last as long as it did. When it was time to replace the unit, they did not try and up-charge me nor sell me a unit that I did not need. Being it was a rental, they gave me the option of rezoning the duct system as it was not done correctly. When I asked his opinion on whether he would do it. I was told that being it was a rental unit it was not necessary. I chose to go ahead with fixing the issue simply because I felt like I was given a truthful answer & I wanted my tenants to benefit with less energy used. Other companies gave me a higher number to replace the unit but then offered a discount if I used them for my maintenance. I was given an honest quote from the very beginning. It was oct 12 of this year. A small army of men and women descended on Columbia DR. for one great reason. They came here to install a heating & air conditioning system on my roof and a Water heater. Who was behind it? It was the Tokay Heating & Air Conditioning staff, installers, and others and CEO Ron, along with representatives of the heating and Air conditioning system by Lennox. Adding to this, they were all wearing red shirts with the perfect theme, "FEEL THE LOVE." They were so warm and friendly to me as well as my family. It was a unique way of displaying "Love of Neighbor" on their part. Can you imagine a group of men and women giving their time, energy, and money to do what they did. And what was my bill for all that work. It was $0 dollars. We even had a barbeque and a cake big enough to feed the whole block. The new water heater and Heat & Air system was state-of-the-art. My old water heater compared to the Brand-spanking new one was probably made during Moses' time BC. Josiah came to give me an estimate and set up a 12-month contract for payment. He spent a considerable amount of time getting information for the contract, so it would be installed the following day. I was told it might take two days to install a new compressor and coils (air conditioning), but they could begin the following day. Pedro came precisely at 7 am. He put down the drop cloths and did some demolition in the attic. Two other workers (Les and Manual) came an hour later and worked constantly until the air conditioning system and new ductwork was complete. After I saw all the old ductwork they removed and the new ductwork that was installed (more installation than the old ductwork), I was convinced I made the right decision to have both done. All the work performed was great! Even the details, e.g., making sure the compressor was lined up with the concrete pad. The goal of the installation crew was to finish it in a day....and they did! For the many hours they spent in the installation, it was a good value! read more

On June 17, 2017 my a/c unit was leaking water into my bedroom and was not able to use it. I called all around town and no one was available for a couple to a few days and with the temperatures reaching 105 it was unbearable in the house. I called Tokay Heating and Air Conditioning and a was told by Ron that Monday was probably the soonest he could have someone come out. I explained to Ron that it was imperative that it be repaired as my wife is battling cancer and is already in a great deal of discomfort. Ron called me back about ten minutes later and explained that he could not allow my wife to endure the heat so he would be sending a tech over within an hour. Jesse came out, found the problem and made the repairs. I found Jesse to be very courteous and professional. The compassion that Ron showed was unmatched and my family has a great deal of gratitude for him and and his staff. You don't experience this kind of kindness much anymore. Hired Tokay Heating and Air to give me an estimate on my heater that failed. They came out right away. They gave me an estimate and ordered the parts I needed. They said they would install it when it came in. This was done on a Holiday week. Bryan diagnosis the problem in a short time and gave me the total cost to repair it. Bryan came out on a early rainy morning just as he promised and repaired my unit. I have heat now and am very pleased with his services. Bryan is a super technician and very thorough. This is the second time I have hired Tokay. Earlier in the year I called for them to install a new system for the In-law quarters. They did a super job on that and It has proven to be very efficient in that area of the house. Their prices are very reasonable and they do excellent work. Kudos to the Tokay team. Josiah, our technician, was very personable and professional. He diagnosed our AC unit's problem in short order and was very helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable. Phillip, the install manager, also came, and was extremely helpful, very friendly and explained everything very clearly. Both Phillip & Josiah were great to work with. I would recommend Tokay to anyone!! Also, Michelle, the customer service representative, was very helpful, patient, and friendly. She was able to help with a scheduling conflict and she did a careful review of the invoice and found a service charge that had not been removed since we were annual service members. She was also able to speak with Phillip regarding our failing capacitor, which we'd had less than a year, and Phillip authorized a credit for that bad part!! Thank you, Tokay! Great team!! I chose Tokay after reading the reviews and then seeing they had availability this week. I love that their website had the "book online" option. I received a call this morning that they could come a day early, which I appreciated in this heat! Jesse arrived early in the appointment window and very quickly discovered the issue with our unit. We got lucky that he had the part in his truck and was able to get the air blowing cool again within an hour. He also listened to my concerns and answered by questions, even suggested their special for a complete check up. Having an older system (15 years) I appreciate the peace of mind it gave me to know that after the repair he just did, we should be in good shape at least for a while longer. Our 37 year old heating and air-conditioning unit finally gave up the ghost. We called Tokay on Monday morning and they sent someone out that day to see if it could be repaired. It could not. We began to call various people to get quotes on a new unit but no one could come out until the next day. Tokay came back that afternoon, gave us a quote and said they could install the next morning! They came right on time the next morning, took out our old unit, put in a new unit. Since our old one was so very old it was not an easy process but everyone worked hard and got the job done and we had heat before the sun went down. They were professional, friendly and left our garage cleaner than it has been in a long time. We would give them more stars if we could. Use them! You will not regret it!! read more

Great experience! Vinny was very professional and a pleasure to have work at our house. This was initially an estimate and he was the first guy we were getting a price from. Vinny made sure to give us the whole story prior to starting any work. One problem was quite hidden and he was very honest about how we should move forward. The second issue was a rocky toilet and he said he couldn't give is an answer until he pulled the toilet. He made sure we knew the price could go up if he found more issues. We asked him after his assessment of our issues when he could help us and he said today, so went with Vinny. We strongly recommend this pro! When we called Tokay Heating and Air, Kahuno and Brian arrived promptly at the appointed time. While Kahuno talked with my wife and I Brian went under the house and in the attic to assess the problems. Of the 4 other bids only one other actually did an actual inspection. The proposal was detailed and very reasonable. The day of the tear out Brian and Matt arrived on time and worked very diligently.They were polite and at my request took before and after pictures of the new ducting installation. I don't post a lot of reviews, but when I receive outstanding service, I like to let folks know. Having no working A/C tends to make for short tempers and it seems like Sara knows that. She handled the initial phone call with professionalism and understanding, which relieved a lot of anxiety. She had a technician onsite in a very timely manner. She sent what has to be their All-Star technician (Jaspreet). Jaspreet was very knowledgeable, took the time to explain things clearly, and may be the most polite person I've met in a LONG time.
