I've been coming here for years, and it's my go-to place for sushi. The presentations are beautiful, the food is fresh and delicious, and the menu is huge! My personal favorite is the Godzilla roll, which is a spicy tuna roll with avocado and orange roe, which is all tempura-fried, topped with more spicy mayo, eel sauce and scallions. Mouthwatering, and exactly what I crave when I want sushi. Other specialty rolls I've tried are the Pikachu roll and the Hot Girls roll, all are delicious. Their standard rolls are also superb, with the freshest fish and generous portions (you won't get a chintzy cut of salmon here) in the avocado salmon rolls, spicy tuna, and everything else I've tried. Their cooked foods are also great! I love their Teriyaki Tofu- it's pan-fried and crispy with a light Teriyaki sauce. They have great lunch specials where you can get tempura, sushi, salad and Miso soup for something like $12? When you eat in, they give you warm towels to clean your hands before the meal. It's BYOB, and the decor inside is really nice and welcoming. I really haven't had a single bad experience at Tokyo Bleu over many years of going there, can't rave about it enough! read more

It's delicious. Yep, that sums it up. The sushi/sashimi is very fresh. They have simple rolls to really intricate and complicated sushi specials. We had the spicy seared tuna appetizer, which we ordered, took 1 bite, and then ordered another. The price is just right for the area and for Japanese food. Sushi for me falls into two categories: 1) YUMMY! or 2) WTF is this nonsense?! Good sushi isn't much different from great sushi for me, but when its bad, its ALL the way bad. Sushi doesn't really have a seasoning process, or cooking technique, so the slight variations in quality come from 1) freshness of ingredients and 2) skill in preparation. There are only so many ways raw tuna, with rice can taste if you aren't rubbing that thing with 11 herbs and spices. That said, Tokyo Bleu has really good sushi. The fish isn't fishy, the rice isn't sticky, which are probably the 2 biggest stumbling blocks. They have a good variation of rolls and dishes and I've never had a bad meal here. The prices are good and even their little spot is cozy and inviting. Its the kind of place you can drive right past though, so keep a sharp eye when you're on your way. I'm not sure if its mentioned on the menu, but Tokyo Bleu is BYOB, so bring a little bottle of something to enjoy with your meal. read more

Came here for dinner on a Saturday night after finding it on Yelp and seeing pretty good reviews. Once we arrived I had to double check the location because I did not expect it to be in a house! We were seating immediately in the living room- dining room area. There is also a back area that looked much more comfortable. The decor is typical, but being in an old house just throws me off completely. Service was pretty slow. It seemed there was only a few servers for the whole restaurant because they were running around working very hard. But unfortunately we had to ask for plates and certain things in order to enjoy our meal. The food was good. The sushi was very fresh and delicious. We also had the spicy ramen, which tasted like hot sauce and broth, really could've used more flavor, but the components were on point. Prices are fair for what you are getting! I would be interested in returning and sitting in the back part and trying more of the sushi. read more

For months we passed this place without ever thinking of going in, one day a menu was left in out mailbox and we have been hooked since. The quality of the Sushi here is on par with most Sushi restaurants you would find in Philly. However, you are not going to pay the prices of Philly. As a BYO you can bring your own choice of beverage with ice buckets available for cold wine and beer. All the Sushi is made at a Sushi bar which you can sit at. While I haven't sat there, I am sure the Chefs would be more than happy to educate you on the finer points of Sushi. We went here for a Valentine's day dinner and we had a great meal. The menu is well put together with several options outside of sushi. We had their garlic white tuna and edamame to start and both were very tasty and enough for the four of us to share. The meal portions were perfect and everyone enjoyed their food. The restaurant is BYOB, which was a major plus because we were able to have a couple of bottles of wine with our meal. The restaurant is in a small and cozy building where I wouldn't expect to find a great sushi spot. It was comfortable and well lit with a nice sushi bar that I would consider sitting at on my next trip. Only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is because service was a bit slow. This may have been due to the holiday, but it did take nearly an hour for us to get our meals. Overall a great sushi spot! read more

I live in the city, and decent Sushi isn't mind blowing to me. I went with the girl I was dating and her friend and they enjoyed it... the food I mean. Though staff was aggressive in getting us out of their since we sat down. We asked for time to order and she came back three times in the next five minutes. They ordered so fast that we actually asked for the menu back so we could still order things. And that pattern was the whole evening, this feeling of being rushed. It wasn't late. It wasn't crowded. Just this feeling of wanting us to go from the moment we got in. They like it because its sushi and you can't find it easily in beverly. I am unimpressed. read more

I've been visiting Tokyo Bleu for years and when I went last weekend, I couldn't believe that I had never reviewed it. Tokyo Bleu is tiny, but brightly decorated, and the service is friendly, too. A nice touch is when they bring out the hot towels at the beginning of the meal to clean one's hands. Also, be sure to remember your drinks-- Tokyo Bleu is BYOB. The sushi is consistently good and I especially love the Godzilla and Hot Girls rolls. However, I am not the biggest fan of sushi, so I often end up getting other orders; the tempura is good, but be careful because it's hard to tell the difference between shrimp and squash sometimes. hahah. I love the seawood salad and the miso soup is decent, but my absolute FAVORITE dish is the udon noodles. I got the yamekabi (I definitely misspelled it) udon, which was basically a Japanese version of chicken noodle soup, plus crab. So yummy-- the noodles were perfectly cooked and there were a ton of great veggies in it, too. Plus, it came in a massive bowl, so I had to take leftovers home for lunch. read more

High quality Japanese food. Thinly sliced sushi.. I prefer a bit thicker cut personally, but this tastes more REAL than any other sushi I've tried in a 20 mile radius. Visited Tokyo Bleu at about 6:30 p.m. on a very rainy, cold day. I had never eaten this restaurant before even though I had passed by literally thousands of times. Had hurt my knee so was using a cane. The steps into the building were a challenge. They were slippery with no decent hand holds. Inside, my first impression was that the space was kind of junkie. The decor was a bit of a mish mash. The dining rooms are on different levels that have one large step down to enter. But the step is not lit, not marked and is about a 12" high. We asked for a table on the entry level that did not require a step. That worked until I needed to use the Men's Room, yes, a step, a big step, down. The servers seem to have limited skills speaking or listening in English. It takes a little patience but they try to get the order right. After a few tries, they succeeded with our orders. The menu is extensive and could stand to include some description of dishes in addition to simply the name of the dish. One of the first things we noticed was that the other patrons seemed to be having a very good time. Lots of laughing. Everyone seemed to have ordered large amounts of food that was quickly disappearing. Whole only a few tables were filled when we arrived, the restaurant quickly filled and there were only a few tables available when we left. The half dozen server staff seemed to have no problem handling a full house. Our appetizers arrived. The food quickly overcame the other deficiencies of the building. Excellent. The mushroom soup appetizer was excellent as was the Vegetable Tempura. My Chirashi entree was excellent too. My guest's entree was was a huge bowl of soup that was similar to a seafood Pho. It was loaded with a variety of seafood plus vegetables and she said it was one of the best soup-type dishes she's ever had. It was so large, she took half home with her. The bill came and is was about $28 total. So Tokyo Bleu is a real find for excellent food at reasonable prices. Now, if they would only fix up the building a little. read more

I was excited when this place opened since there were no sushi places in our neck of the woods after Fuji moved. The only thing I do not like about it, is that they do not have lunch specials on the weekend. At least that was what they told us last year. I'm a sucker for sushi, Love Love Love some good sushi with alot of wasabi! I dredge my sushi in my soy sauce condensed wasabi concoction just feel that few seconds of rush and the tears welling up in my eyes says it all. Love sushi, and this is a great place to go for good sushi. They have this black night roll to die for and a cinnaminson roll we also love. This place is nice. I gave it 4* even tho the is probably 3* but by comparison to all the other places to eat on 130 its easily 4. The place is byob which makes it even better and more affordable. The best fish I have found around this neighborhood, I would still say use the restaurant guidelines for fish (go after a delivery not after they've been in for a few days... I would avoid Sunday's and Monday's) Excellent staff and nice atmosphere. So next time you don't want to eat sushi at a Chinese restaurant (lol thanks south jersey) go here for a much more enjoyable experience. read more

I just had the tuna dumpling, soft shell crab, Bleu sushi, eel sushi, tomago (egg custard), salmon roe sushi a la carte, and soft shell crab. My tummy is so happy right now. Came here with Bestie as she needed a place to review for her magazine. Super cute small space. First ones there when they opened at 1130am, by the time we left around 1pm place was full! Lunch specials very reasonably priced and variety was refreshing, more then just teriyaki. We ordered three lunch specials because we really wanted sushi as well...Edamame app.... great. I had grilled sea scallops with veggies in honey wasabi sauce. Comes with miso, salad, rice. All good. Bestie got salmon teriyaki and as our two rolls we got spicy tuna and California. My California was great, bestie did not like that tuna was "shredded mush". We spent $35 before tip!! Totally recommend and will be going back! read more

We recently went there with our adult kids. Known for their fresh sushi, I found it to be good. My husband who doesn't eat sushi ordered a pork dish. He said it was good but there just wasn't enough to fill him, I'm not sure it would have filled me either. It looked like an appetizer portion. I ordered the crispy shrimp and got 2 with tempura shrimp coming out of the top and 3 without the shrimp, disappointed. I felt they all should have had the tempura shrimp as that's what I ordered.
