Simple, basic decor. But then, you don't come here for the surroundings. They're clean and simple, but it's the food that's the star here. Sushi is top notch for a decent price. Some very creative offerings, and all of it fresh. Service is polite but not hovering. Don't let the building's exterior turn you off; it's an older building and the front door is somewhat hidden. But this is not a dive. It's one of the more unknown sushi gems in the Metroplex. I had the fresh salmon sushi, and the Philip Roll (a California roll with salmon on top and spicy mayo). My first time dining in was pretty good. I went solo and sat at sushi bar. It was really clean and cute. The service was fast and attentive and I was greeted nicely when I arrived. I got miso soup, temptation and Philadelphia rolls. The soup was great compared to the other sushi places around and sushi was fast, fresh, and just the right portion. This is my new favorite spot to grab sushi in Fort Worth! As soon as you walk in, you're taken aback by the design. It is so fun and vibrant. There is so much natural light in the restaurant. I had the Imitation Roll for lunch, and it was so good! Anyone who is a sushi lover will have a hard time picking out which roll to eat because everything on the menu looked delicious. With all the reviews saying how reasonably priced this place is, I was disappointed when my husband and I spent $50 here for lunch and left hungry. I had 2 rolls, and they were good, not great. My husband had a cooked plate, and it was a TINY portion. He was very angry when we left, and wont be back. The service was very good. read more

This place has some style! Best fish and chips I've had in Ft. Worth, Sorry Zeke's. Started with some featured sushi that was really fresh. The flavor combination was crazy. I'd never had sushi topped with lemon zest, but became a immediate fan. A friend tried a pork Ramon boil, he seemed quite happy with it. I'll definitely be back here. Despite the last two reviews, I have found that this sushi place is far better than those around, maybe even the best in FW. After dining at the sushi bar many of times, nothing is pre-rolled like many of the other restaurants. Things from the bar might take a little longer on busy nights but it's totally worth the wait. The fish is super fresh. The rolls are bite size and not too much rice or sauce at a reasonable price. The staff is super friendly and the chefs are willing to chat with you. I've heard they are trying to do some renovations. It's a neighborhood place that's been around for years. read more

Great Sushi and even better service. I went to meet a friend for a bday dinner. At the end of dinner the owner sent us a free dessert because she heard it was my bday. Really enjoyed the appetizers! We had the stir fry edamame and toko fries. Both had a different yet delicious twist. I can't wait to try more off the appetizer list. In addition, we ordered three different rolls. Can't remember the names of them but they were ok. Rolls were small in size which was disappointing but normal in fort worth. I'll give the place another whirl for their rolls. Overall the experience was nice. Service was good and attentive. First, Yumm! Tokyo is a Fort Worth staple and if you haven't gone then you are missing out. They have a wide range of delicious food from fresh sushi to flavorful ramen to their classic "beef bowl". If you get the beef bowl, I suggest you get extra spicy for an added kick! The owners are almost always there which makes the restaurant clean, fresh, and consistent. We ordered a small assortment of food since it was only two of us and our young daughter. We started off with fried gyoza which would usually be pan fried, but here they deep fried the dumplings. We also started with agedashi tofu which lacked any distinguishing flavor. My wife ordered yakisoba noodles and nothing made the dish shine from what I assume you get from an "express" Asian spot. My western style ramen with smoked pork loin included over cooked noodles. I am glad it did not have the overly salty flavor of instant ramen, but the majority of the dish reminded me of what I ate before I discovered authentic Asian food. read more

The food was delicious, bao buns and gyoza for starters. My gf had pork belly ramen, first complaint, we paid for extra and they gave her one tiny moreslice, when I come and pay 120 for a meal and you add a tiny slice it infuriates me. But it was delicious. I stuck with sushi rolls, which were awesome. However, wasabi encrusted salmon roll has a very tiny amount of salmon. The smoked salmon is bomb and so is spider roll and pretty lady roll. The thing that disappointed me most which is what I'm giving 3 stars for, is that the good took FOREVER. If your averaging 100 tickets and higher, how is it possible you csnt afford more cook staff? As well as the fact their was only one waiter girl in a SUPER busy time. If your charging delix prices,I expect delux. Hire more staff. All in all, I'll think I'll try other sushi places before I come back. One that has enough staff to support the customers needs and meets expectations of price. But, it is good, maybe they when their slow and no ones their. But I won't be. read more

I went here with my nephew and it was the first time. First, let me start with the good. Folks, the service here was fantastic. Our waitress was amazing and provided the proper attention to our drinks and food. It's not very often that you find a restaurant with amazing service. Now the bad part. I ordered the Yakisoba noodle combination. I've been to Japan and love Yakisoba. This was NOT Yakisoba. The noodles were more like ramen noodles, the seasoning was not correct for true Japanese Yakisoba and the entire dish was missing the finely sliced vegetables that Yakisoba is famous for. The combination meats were good, but the entire dish had a propane chemical aftertaste. I'm still burping the propane taste. I hate it when BBQ places use propane and although I might be mistaken, I think they use propane here. Unfortunately, if I came back it would be for the service. But I won't be back. read more

My wife and I absolutely LOVE asian food. We both agree this is the best you can get in Fort Worth when it comes to Japanese cuisine. I really enjoyed the braised pork belly, avo bake and tok fries. However, the last time I went I got the fish and chips. The fish steamed my fries and they were soggy when I got them. Which made me sad because that is why I went there in the first place was for these awesome fries. Maybe plate the fish away from the fries to avoid this problem. Been here once for my birthday a few years back and recently again for lunch with a few friends. I love the small family-owned atmosphere of this place. I ordered a bento box with the sashimi option which I thought the fish tasted really fresh. The portion was a little smaller than some sushi places I've been to but I feel like their sashimi was more fresh. You must order the Tok fries! The fries are dipped into a special sauce (mayo-based) with sesame seeds. So delicious! The fries were plenty enough to share among a group of friends. When I went with my family a few years back, we had a few more dishes including udon noodle, sushi, and a dessert. I remembered they were all pretty good and how much this place left an impression on me. I keep forgetting that they serve ramen noodle here (hard to find a decent one in the metroplex). My friend liked the noodle a lot so I still need to try it one day. Overall, the service was wonderful and the food was delicious. I highly recommend people to come here! read more

I finally had Tokyo Cafe! We got the Cajun roll, salmon sashimi and Tok fries. The Cajun roll was delicious, salmon VERY fresh tasting. However I was sooo disappointed in the Tok fries. Mine were floppy, soggy and tasteless. Maybe this was an off day because everyone seems to love these fries. I didn't even eat more than 5 as they were all just mushed in a soggy pile :( read more
