Had high hopes for this restaurant.. but unfortunately I've definitely had better Thai food. The service and Veida gave us was amazing. She was so friendly and appreciative of us coming in- she did her best. Apparently it's under a new ownership. Things are changing and they are between 2 different menus. It's a little confusing. We ordered from the Lunch menu which for now is 11-2 Monday to Friday - for now .. and it says $11.99 but I was changed $13.99 for one of the lunches. They came with soup- which we got at the END of our meal after asking a couple times. Apparently because they don't use the lunch menu much they don't make the soup for the lunch combo so they have to make one up when a lunch combo is ordered. We got Chicken pot Thai and pork curry. The pad Thai was decent .. we asked for mild but it had no spice at all. The curry we asked for mild and it was decently spiced but the veggies tasted old and the curry was gritty. Like it was not cooked properly. Potstickers were clearly pre frozen and thrown in the fryer. Ms Veida made the experience with her customer service but the food was nothing I will go back for. We ordered a chicken and beef pad thai and the cheese flowers. Personally we felt the pad thai was bland in flavor; since we took it for take out I added spicy mayo and that made it perfect for me so hopefully they have that at the restaurant. My hubby added a bit of soy and siracha to his. The cheese flowers were way too sweet for my taste; I thought they'd take like the cheese rangoon but no it's more of a sweet cheesecake I guess? I wouldn't write the restaurant completely off because it has several good reviews from other customers so I'm interested in trying something else. The menu that's uploaded on Yelp is not up to date; they have a more extensive option menu I just wish I would have taken a picture of it. I will probably return and give a different dish a try since the options looked good. I will update my review when I do. read more

I have been going to Thai Walzem for a very long time. It was one of the places I was looking forward to going back to when I got stationed back in San Antonio. They never fail me. I do have my favorites there: panang curry, the red curry, and their Massaman curry are my three favorites. I ended up living down the street, so I ate here about twice a month. I began to ask to try new things on the menu & wasn't disappointed once. I like spicy, therefore I ask for 4 or 5 level of spice. At first they would remind me that's hot. () hahahaha Id smile & say, yup! Make me sweat! Bring it! So, I've tried their sushi rolls - what? You didn't know they have sushi? Well, it's usually, or requested to be, at dinner time - but it's well worth it. Order a roll. You won't be disappointed. I can say, the only thing I'm still a little shaky about is the egg drop soup. It's a little thick for my taste/texture issues. But it has a good flavor. I'm still working my way through the menu, after well over 12 years, and I want to try it all. I always take friends & family here when I have visitors. They are under new management/ownership and what a lack of professionalism with the customer and the food is so so so bad that I decide to throw it instead of feeding it to the dogs. I ordered online and the description of the plate (which I always get the same) and what I received was completely different. They gave me some BS excuse about "new management" and "you need to tell us that you want the old menu" excuse. How in the world are the customers suppose to know that there's a "new and old" menu when the website is not updated? When I picked up the food, it was not ready. Im a patient and understanding that they might be behind on orders. After being there for 30 mins and no one gives me a reason about my food, of course I would get annoyed. Finally some rude lady demands that I showed her my order and throws the food at me. No "thank you for waiting", no "we apologize". This is the description from the online menu and what I ordered. Green Curry Coconut milk, bell peppers, peas, eggplants, basil, and bamboo. What I got: green beans, zucchini, celery... I feel scammed. I feel disrespected. Once again, the pad Thai was OK, but it lacked the spiciness that I was looking for. However, the Thai green curry with spicier and had more flavor. The curry paste was appropriate, and the combination meats were appropriate as well. Finally, the Thai green curry was worth the trip, and I will try other dishes there. So far I'm really liking this hidden gem. On this quite overcast day this seems perfect for Thai food. I walked into a very comfortable place. No big elaborate decorations or lights. Real people making real food. I was seated and greeted with a smile despite being busy. The server was polite and hustling to make each person's experience top notch. The menu is easy to read and straightforward. Only the best of the best in both Thai and Chinese food. With specials that won't leave you flat. I've had Tom Yum soup with seafood at many, many places. The best I judge all others by is Thai Kitchen in Austin, which is a simple light broth that reeks only of lemongrass with several types of seafood in it, never had one close in the whole US. And theirs was the opposite. The broth is rich and dark brown like a beef soup and the main taste and smell is fish sauce, way too much fish sauce. It wasn't bad in any way, just very different and dark and pungent. The jungle curry just did not have enough spice or curry flavor, but was still good. I asked for extra spicy and it seemed like normal spice tbh. If I lived in the area I'd probably go back to try other things, but for take-out I probably won't be ordering again. Still not bad in any way though. Except now my place smells like fish sauce from all they used in the tom yum. read more

I always order through uber eats and not only is their pepper steak amazing, their packaging for delivery is even better!! I usually stay away from saucy plates because of the mess they leave in the to go bags but this restaurant really cares about spillage and double bag/wrap items to prevent a mess upon opening. First visit. We decided to go based on reviews. Stopped in about 1:15 and were greeted by a very friendly and lovely Thai lady. She took our orders for drinks (unsweet iced tea) and brought them back quickly, along with a cup of the soup of the day (hot & sour), which comes with the lunch specials. It actually looked like egg drop soup, but was some of, strike that, was THE BEST hot and sour soup we have ever had...very addicting! Since we had never been here, we ordered a good selection: fresh rolls (two large cut in half) which came with a wonderful peanut sauce; fried tofu pad thai (excellent); basil stir fry with pork; green curry with pork. The pad thai came with a small (but REALLY, REALLY good) spring roll. The stir fry and curry both came with a scoop of steamed rice and the aforementioned spring roll. All of the food was outstanding with very large portions. (We had to take the stir fry to go). We have eaten a lot of Thai food over the years in a variety of restaurants around the country, including home cooking (our sister-in-law is Thai), and have to say that this small strip mall restaurant is putting out world class Thai cuisine. I'm from Thai town in Hollywood California so my standard might be a little bit high, but..... I ordered delivery and it definitely wasn't authentic Thai. There were no raisins or cashews in the pineapple fried rice and it wasn't really the texture of fried rice it was very wet.. that being said they are on point with the spice level which I liked. I stopped by here with my family to have a nice dinner. My brother had been here before but It was my first time and admittedly I was pretty excited as I'm a huge fan of Thai cuisine. I enjoyed the papaya salad as it wasn't overly fishy (some places put too much fish sauce) and the pad Thai wasn't bad. I've had better and spicier pad Thai but I wasn't disappointed. The portions are fair and so are the prices. I would stop by here should I want to have Thai food as it isn't far and conveniently located.
