Spicy Tuna roll
Mark U.

Great find in Northfield! The Sushi menu is well done; it shows that the sushi chef is proud of their work and takes pride in the presentation of their roles! The spicy tuna never disappoints, but the star of the night was the spicy shrimp! The crab Rangoon appetizer was fantastic as were the pot-stickers. The waitstaff was very friendly and helpful. The cold Sake was excellent and reasonably priced. If you're in Northfield and looking for a place for Sushi, this is worth the stop.

Spicy tuna hand roll

This place is incredibly pedestrian. If you have a sushi craving, this will fill your need but it won't knock your socks off. The miso soup was served warm, not hot and it was just salty. The rolls I ordered were formed very well, but they were just so blah. Spicy tuna should be spicy, right? The service was pleasant enough and the atmosphere was decent. Those two things are not enough to get me back. I would choose Mizuki Fusion a few miles away in Faribault.

Entree - Hibachi Combo

Pretty good, no doubt. I recently moved to the commercial/industrial wastes on the outskirts of Northfield, where this restaurant is located. So far, I've found there to be a severe shortage of quality food within walking distance of where I live on Clinton Ln. Tried Tokyo Grill tonight, and wasn't disappointed. Place was busy but service was prompt. Refilled my iced tea constantly. Had the hibachi steak/shrimp, edamame and a spicy tuna hand roll. All were good, for a place does that does the hibachi in the back and not in front of you while flinging shrimp at your face/setting things on fire. Entree portion could have been a little bigger, but oh well. I'm sure I'll go again. So far, this place and George's are the only two I've found within a mile walking (with a sidewalk available) that are worthwhile. I'll keep looking, and always looking for suggestions.

Liza with CA roll

YUM YUM TIME! Had a yummylicious Liza dinner at one of Carleton College's most esteemed dining out options! Can't start without Miso soup and the house salad. Delicious per usual. Liza and I advanced to the the gyoza: mediocre in flavor, but perfectly crispy! Liza enjoyed her California roll with a side of chicken (sauce included!). I stuck with my usual chicken bento box and it did not disappoint. But the real star of the show is the yum yum sauce. Takes your breath away in every bite and drowns your tongue in yummy goodness. Till next time Tokyo grill!

This place is worth driving to for good sushi. Many awesome choices, decent prices, excellent service, and good specials that are not on the regular menu. Everything we got was exceptional. My favorite was the Pink Lady Roll. Got a special called Fire Roll, also delicious! Gyoza, nigiri, and tamago were all just as good. So pleased with everything here. Living in the southern suburbs, this will be my new go-to spot for sushi.

Really not impressed. The rice was overdone and rest of meal seamed day old. We arrived about 11:30 am. Won't go here again.

She was even VERY awesome in that she had my app and the person next to me's but she set mine down to not take mine near them and keep. It was awesome to see such care taken. I absolutely love the decor. They keep it simple and clean and very much on theme for a good Ramen shop. The food is delicious. I ordered the Cha Shu buns and the Cha Shu Ramen (soy based). They put plenty of noodles toppings and broth. I asked them to leave off the fish cake because I just waste them and never eat them. Sorry Instagram. They have clearly had some price changes since their last menu print but who hasn't. I think they will eventually update it and are working with what they have likely until things settle down enough to know where their prices are going to land.

The dinner came with soup, stir fried vegs, chicken and white rice. You could get fried rice for a small up charge. Our grandsons love this place too. They use a robot to serve the drinks. It is a fun thing. This is a family run place so to bring kids you feel welcome. Thank you our food was very tasty.

Ordered 4 rolls and each were delicious not to mention beautifully presented. Iwa house special roll - plentiful and delicious. Hot mama - loved the soy paper. Very good but not spicy. I remedied that with wasabi. Tuna lovers - disappeared quickly Happy family - large roll and was (almost) too pretty to eat. We left bellies full and happy with our dinner choice. Rolls average $15-18/roll but you can taste the quality. Likely our new favorite sushi spot in MN!

Parking is available in the attached lot. The interior was clean and organized, although fairly generic. Our server was attentive and kept everything accurate and enjoyable during our stay. The happy hour menu was quite extensive and great value, as we got two apps and five basic rolls for under $50. I appreciated that they had basic and specialty rolls on discount during the HH. The cream cheese wontons were light and crispy. The Philly, Spicy Tuna, and California were solid...tasted great but nothing spectacular. I did appreciate that they came on decorative plates and presentation. Overall, this spot has a great happy hour menu and the quality is pretty solid. I don't know that this spot will win "our favorite" but it's definitely worth a visit if you are close by and interested in some sushi!
