I'm a sucker for biscuits and gravy and these definitely beat what you would find in a Denny's or IHOP by a landslide on the taste and aesthetic scale! It's super filling since there's so many carbs, but the taters (more like small potato wedges) are actually a clever add-in. They add a slight bit of texture to the mushiness of the gravy-soaked biscuits, and potatoes and gravy are already best friends in terms of food pairings. There's also garnish on top (some sort of greens and cheese) that gives it a nice look and extra flavor. Delicious! I didn't think much of the customer service initially aside from thinking they were super friendly. However, I sat down at one of the tables and took my time eating and people watching. So many people came by the store to talk to the chefs with such familiarity that it felt like this popup was its own restaurant and community. It hasn't reached a point of popularity where it's flooded with people, but the more I look back on the experience, the nicer I feel about it. Even after a lot of time had passed and the staff had already helped out so many people, when I left, they called out my name and it made me wish I could go back again. This is one of the best experiences I've ever had at a restaurant. Not because it's spectacular or mindblowing, but because it was great people watching. Unfortunately, we weren't able to order food because we had to catch a movie. However, during our visit, we overheard who we believe to be one of the owners (his photos were displayed on the wall) speaking poorly about employees and referring to them as "idiots." That alone was disappointing, but hearing it within earshot of customers felt extremely unprofessional. As a long-time business owner myself, I firmly believe you are only as strong as your team. Respecting employees -- especially publicly -- is critical to a healthy work environment and strong customer experience. It was uncomfortable to witness and ultimately the reason we won't be returning. I genuinely felt sorry for the staff working that shift. Additionally, it appeared that both owners may have been drinking while on shift, which also felt unprofessional. One of them did approach us and seemed very sweet, but after overhearing the earlier comments, it unfortunately changed the entire atmosphere for us. The overall ambiance was decent, and Alex did a great job. It's just disappointing when leadership undermines what could otherwise be a positive experience.

Not only have Aaron and Kelly (he the inaugural chef at Juniper and she the one time business manager for Coiled winery and other food businesses) contributed greatly to people who love to eat good food through their support of local growers and suppliers to use those ingredients in Aaron's remarkably delicious creations and modeled the best customer care, Kelly's ears should be burning for how many times her name comes up when conversations are had with others about examples of "how to" for extraordinary hospitality, they have contributed much to the Boise community by being really wonderful people. It's a cold sandwich and comes on ciabatta bread. One thing to note, and I probably should've known this, but the Italian mixed veggies come with a bunch of green and black olives. I hate olives and the taste of them ruins anything they're on for me. If I had known that olives were on this sandwich from the description when I ordered it, I would've substituted them with something else.
