    Kids cheeseburger with extra pickles
    Dani S.

Big Bun has been around for a hot minute and I have yet to have a burger from this joint. Well, today's my lucky day! We stopped in for a quick lunch before we headed to Christmas activities. I love that they have huge photos of their food options at their drive thru and at the window. I'm a visual eater so food photos are the best! My husband got the Cafferty sandwich and I got a kids cheeseburger meal. It was nice to sit in the heated patio while our food was being prepared. As soon as it wa done they hollered our name over the intercom to let us know it was ready. My kid's burger was good! I asked for extra pickles and they gave me a good amount. The fries were fried golden. Crispy on the outside and nice and soft inside. The tater tots were nice and crunchy! I enjoyed them both with the fry sauce. I did unfortunately find hair in my food. As a hair stylist, finding hair can be gross but it doesn't gross me out as much compared to the next person. As my first outing there, this wasn't a good impression. Big Bun did buy the old Carl's Jr right down the road from me. It's been fun watching them make progress and change the old building. I am looking forward to having them in my area! Excited to see a local business grow and prosper in the valley.

Thanks for Messing up our order after my kids last meet. The stupid left side lane can't grow up to 2020 and my kid has to pay. I even asked him if we had two burgers and a fry . He said yes. Got home. Wrong Burger and they didn't include my kids burger. Had the fries and someone's poppers. I get stuff happens.. but not even close. For how slow the are you'd think they could get orders write. Tried to call them twice to just them know they messed up our order and it may reflect on others. he said he couldn't hear me and to call back.., did and and it was the same thing . Over it

Big Bun is a classic drive-in burger and shake restaurant with a history of serving up a range of homemade items, including original recipe finger steaks, fish and chips, corn dogs, and mozzarella sticks. Their menu also boasts over 55 milkshake flavors and six types of fresh fruit-squeezed daily lemonades. They pride themselves on their great customer service. Despite these offerings, my visit was quite underwhelming. The place itself is very spartan, with a rather mundane menu that left much to be desired. Touted as one of the best burger spots in Boise, I found it to be simply a run-of-the-mill burger joint. The highly praised burgers didn't stand out, and overall, the experience did not live up to the hype. I would still try it. You may think it is a hidden gem. For me it was just OK.

Another FANTASTIC meal. Delicious burgs, crispy, hot fresh fries and the tastiest fry sauce in the Valley. Oh, and the best Cherry Chip shake you'll ever find.

Finally went after living here for 5 years and the burgers did not disappoint! We decided to sit in the outdoor tent, so ordered at the window and had food in hand within 5 minutes. I love the simplicity and focus in good ingredients at Big Bun, which is good meat and a great bun. This place reminds me of Whataburger which is a HUGE compliment in my eyes. Fries were ok, nothing to write home about but I'd argue this place has the best burger in town. Gotta love a local place that people have been going to for 50ish years (I think?). Give it a try if you're in the burger mood, have heard their finger steaks and shakes are to die for!!

    Bacon Cheeseburger and fries.

I came here with my family. The wait wasn't too bad (about 5-10 minutes). I got the bacon cheeseburger and fries. It was so good! The cheese was perfectly melted and I like how they keep it simple on the toppings. The fry sauce and ketchup were great. I liked the bun for sure. It has sesame seeds but they weren't falling off like sand. The fries were great and you get a lot for a good size! (Medium) I tried the mozzarella sticks and they were good. A little bit too seasoned but overall 8/10. I will be coming here again. A little bummed how no bathroom was available but its all good.

As a Utah local, I always look forward to visiting Idaho--and stopping by Big Bun is a must! I ordered the #10 fish and chips basket, and it was absolutely delicious. Even though there was a small mix-up with my drink (they gave me a regular Coke instead of a Coke Zero), they quickly corrected it and let us keep both--great customer service! It was the busiest I've ever seen it, but the food was still on point. Their finger steaks are also a favorite of mine. Can't wait to come back next year!

After a great day of checking out a museum I had to have a butterscotch shake. My stepdad took me to this really cool drive-in place. It was cool and they had an 899 special for Thursday. That was a chicken sandwich at the spicy version and I had to get a side of tater tots. I found the service to be exceptionally nice, the shake was delicious and we didn't even have to wait more than five minutes to get our order something you don't find often these days. I found the food super delicious and I definitely coming back. I recommend the fries sauce. It must be an Idaho thing because I've never seen it before I came here and it's delicious. Every restaurant that has it. I find that stuff super addicting but perhaps to the staff and Crew the place was clean the service was quick and the food was the best I've had in a while.

We had just landed in Boise, and were looking for a good burger. Yelp suggested the Big Bun and it did not disappoint. Thank you for the customer service.

Whether you're just stopping in for a quick bite or looking for a go-to burger spot, this place absolutely delivers. They are most definitely a top contender for the "best burgers" title in town. After hearing folks who'd found this place proclaim its greatness, I had to give it a go. Glad I did! Think fairly traditional burger fixings on 1/3 pound burgers done well. I've tried the cheeseburger and the feta and jalapeno burger. Both were tasty and cooked perfectly. They're the type of burgers that are simple, but that's a good thing. I'm a bit picky about my burgers and am sensitive to fries cooked in old oil. I'm happy to say these meals don't leave my gut regretting my life choices. Each burger comes with lettuce, pickle, red onion and tomato. They don't slather condiments on; you'll have to ask for those you like specifically. They also come with a side of thick-cut fries with light seasoning and fry sauce. I mean, this is Idaho. Gotta have the fry sauce. All of this clocks in at between 8-12 buckos. Their hours are a little wonky, so check before heading out. It's a food truck and they have limited outside table space. From what I gather this is primarily a dinner joint with most hours of operation between 3-10 pm. Pity, because having this as a lunch option would be dandy. Pop in here if you're on Overland and give these burgers a go. It's already becoming a regular stop for us!
