Steak, shrimp with noodles and fresh vegetables was a delight.

The food was amazing fresh, cooked right in front of us, and so good! Meals came with a broth with slivered mushrooms to start.

Chicken with fried rice. Our veggies are on the grill top in the background.

We went to Tokyo Japanese Steak House as part of my niece's 13th birthday celebration. Her first (that she remembers) as well as many others who came tha tnight. The Hibachi chef did a great job of making it a festive occasion for her with just the right amount of birthday attention to she and her two friends. He was funny and got my sister's in-laws laughing. He brought all of the expected fanfare you expect at a hibachi restaurant. The onion volcano, the knife tricks. He didn't disappoint. The waitress who took our orders and brought our soups/salads/beverages was also wonderful. They made a great experience. This place was hopping with birthday celebrations and folks seemed to be enjoying themselves. Other strong points are that they are right next to the mall and so there is no lack of parking and you can make a fun day if you want without having to drive from place to place. That being said. The restaurant was freezing, despite the fact that they were playing with fire, and it was really uncomfortable. It was also really really dark which I didn't really enjoy. The bathrooms were a bit sad. And, finally, I've had a better hibachi for cheaper. =\ I think this restaurant gets a lot of customers because it's literally on the way out from the mall. So people see it on their way out and are curious about it. If you've never had hibachi and want to experience it - you'll have a good time here. My sister's family all seemed to enjoy the food more than my husband and I did. Maybe we've just gotten snooty? If I'm at the mall with someone who's never had hibachi and I'm not feeling poor, I'd eat here again. I wouldn't choose it first myself - but if my companions wanted to go - I wouldn't complain.

The food was cooked how I asked ordering from the habachi menu. The chef did tricks and sake was squirter into each individual mouth which was fun. I had a martini which was good. The establishment looks the same way it did 10 years ago. I took my daughter to the first water feature and it appeared to be out of order with limited water in it. My family did habachi. About four mins after my meal was completed the waitor came around asking if I wanted a to go plate. This happened a total of three time. I had to inform him I'll let him know when I'm ready as I still have a full plate of food on my plate. This experience felt rushed.

4.5* Second time visiting here This location offers multiple choices when dining -Hibachi-Hot Pot -Sushi Since I have been here twice, I tried the hibachi and the Hot Pot and I will combine my both visits Similar to other hibachi restaurants Three of us each had a combo hibachi meal - our chef was funny kept laughs on our faces as he did his magic My second visit was to have Hot Pot For those that don't know Hot Pot is where you cook your own protein in a hot pot of broth There are so many choices from protein to broths to choice from I love the fresh vegetables. Thai basil is my favorite Whatever you're in the mood for I think you'll find you'll enjoy your meal when I'm back in the area I'll be certain to visit again

What's all this lambasting and hating on TJSH I see? This is my second five-star review of this place and I'm lovin' it! We had a group of eleven peeps on a Saturday night with rez for Hibachi. It was very organized and very well run as they escorted us to the grill area and immediately hooked us up with drinks and then took our orders and double-checked them by going around in a clockwise fashion and making eye-contact with each peep and verbally recapitulating individual orders. Then the fun began: The Hibachi dood came out and entered the cooking station in a dramatic manner with much enthusiasm and ruckus and supreme silliness. He was donning a cowboy get-up and played it up to the max. He let the Americanisms fly -singing and joking about American pop songs like, "Who Let the Dogs Out" and other pop-culture hits and parodying various American colloquialisms. I'm quite sure he holds a PhD. from a well-known clown school. He cooked with speed and skill while multitasking with his antics. The food was out of this world. It was nuclear hot and bursting with flavors and the aroma had us all on Cloud 9. The Fried Rice was incredible and the egg components were cooked amazingly. The Steak and Lobster were perfectly cooked. Bean sprouts and veggies were mental as well. Each peep also receives three "free" shrimp, again, perfectly cooked. The drinks were strong and even the Krab 'Goons were hot n' fresh AF. The servings were big and many peeps left with doggy bags. Some of the high points were the classic Flaming Onion Volcano which was wicked mega and the heat almost seared our eyebrows off -no joke. I'm actually quite surprised that OSHA permits this wildness but perhaps they get paid off somehow and/or lawyers have used legal rhetoric to deem this perfectly safe thusly enabling this pyrotechnic tomfoolery. Also, the tried-and-true Wet Willie always merits guffaws of laughter. Many more shenanigans and bonus surprises were performed and all too numerous to mention... We all had a blast and we all went wicked mental. I'll be back! Who let the dogs out? Who? Who?

This is "worth" the money ONLY if you go at lunch time. The food all taste the same. The chef attempted to put on a show but it sounded as if he was a robot just repeating the same thing all day. The restaurant itself has a weird smell, the water fall is missing water, and the carpets need replacing. The bathroom was clean though The calamari was something we haven't tried on our trips here & it was the best thing we consumed there. The food all taste the same. The steak was supposed to be cooked medium but it was well done. The shrimp was over cooked. Vegetables were under cooked and seasoned. The mai tais were ok, but mainly juice. The kicker was, they added a $23 tip on my card without me approving it. They didn't ask me if the amount was okay nothing. They brought me a receipt for $132 that I provided my card for yet they took it upon themselves to add a tip. If you're doing your job efficiently I know how to tip & don't need you to fraudulently steal my money

Never been to this location but I've ate at Tokyo numerous times. Today we got sushi , California maki and Avocado maki. It was sooooo good ! The house fried rice was nice and hot and full of flavor. We also got the crab rangoon, they were fresh , hot and crispy ! Service was nice, our server was polite and prompt and filled our water when we were running low. Love the food here.

If I could give 0 star I would. The bill should've out to be less than $100. They had a price increase in certain items (broth $3 to $5) in the menu and it wasn't mentioned until we paid. The front house staff had the audacity to charge $20 for tips citing it was 18% gratuity. I don't know what kind of math they were doing. The hostess then slapped $2 bills on the table acting as if it was our fault. When we persisted, the hostess tried to turn this on us again acting like it was because we didn't want to pay tips. We wouldn't mind paying tips and intended to if she wasn't ripping us off in such a dishonest way. For anyone who wanted to dine there, make sure to check your bill and promptly call your bank for a charge back because this business is dishonest and down right garbage.

Rice and vegtable Lobster and fillet it was very good lot of food good portions a good night for all

I recently wrote a review for the 'Hot & New' Omori in Quincy. While I am not a detractor of Omori,…read morethe experience there left something to be desired. This is due to some creative decisions I disagree with and, at times, very little eel. Meanwhile, Sake Japanese Restaurant hits just the right spot! The creative decisions were excellent, with everything coming together splendidly. The fish was fresh and in more than generous amounts. This, in turn, makes the cost of about $20 per roll seem reasonable and makes it much easier to stomach (I didn't intend the pun, but I will own it). Regarding the Holiday and the Kevin Page, these maki rolls are similar. Both shine with the white fish on top and generous amounts of tuna (and salmon in the Holiday's case) within. The eel and cucumber add a pleasant new dimension to the pieces. I'd say these two are like identical twins adopted by different families. Each will have some unique personality and flair, but at the core, they are one. The crazy tuna brought something different to the table. While I am generally not a fan of the chopped-up style of fish, here it just works, and I didn't mind it. If I were to guess, this is because many places have more tempura than fish and add too much spicy mayo. Despite the style, the tuna was still able to shine through. For the inside, I enjoyed the crunch and freshness of the cumber with the sweetness and savory notes from the eel. Finally, the service was polite and speedy, though it wasn't bustling. Thus, not only would I happily return to Sake, but I would love to order the same three rolls again, for they were *that* good.

While my order was in route, the restaurant called and informed me that my driver forgot the hot items. Before I could even feel an ounce of disappointment and without prompt I was asked for my address as well as phone number and their delivery guy brought my ramen! No extra charge, and when I tried to give him a tip, he politely declined. THAT is platinum level of customer service. And to top it off, the sushi was delicious...I cannot wait to heat up and try the ramen. Highly suggest, if I could give more stars I would!

All fine in their own right, but not exactly the environment you think of when selecting a sushi restaurant. Then, just to enter, you need to find the entrance behind a support column and take an elevator up to the second floor. So right off the bat it's a bit strange. That being said, once we were seated for AYCE, everything was superb. The server would bring us a new order card immediately after we ordered each round of food and checked back often ensuring we never had to wait very long for the next round of food to come out. The entire menu was available...sushi, sashimi, rolls (including the special rolls), apps, soups, salads, and hibachi. The sushi wasn't elite, but absolutely fresh and tasty. And the wine is very reasonably priced. There is also a hibachi area of the restaurant that we didn't visit, but we could hear it. The food was top quality and the atmosphere was on point. There was plenty of parking, and upon walking in the restaurant looked very clean. Since it was close to closing and I had called ahead, we were seated right away at a hibachi table with just the two of us. There was an extremely loud birthday party seated next to us, but that's not the restaurant's fault. While ordering, I wanted to get appetizers and sushi before our hibachi meal, but I felt a little rushed by our server. On a previous visit I remembered there being a Tuesday appetizer special (I thought it was half off), but when I asked, I was told they had never offered that promotion. Food: * Rock & Roll Roll - 8/10: Fresh and tasty, although the crab had a slightly stronger smell than I'd prefer. * Shrimp Tempura Roll - 9/10: Very good, but I asked for extra eel sauce and was given barely a tablespoon. * Steak & Shrimp Hibachi - 5/10: The flavor was excellent and everything was cooked exactly as requested, but the portions were surprisingly small for the price. * Chicken & Steak Hibachi - 5/10: Again, the flavor was great, but the portions were disappointing. We ordered extra chicken, which ended up being a good decision because the regular portion was very small. Each plate had less than a cup of rice, and although I requested extra mushrooms instead of zucchini and carrots, that substitution wasn't made. * Salt & Pepper Chicken Wings - 10/10: Easily one of the best items we ordered. Perfectly crispy with great seasoning and just the right amount of spice. * Scallion Pancakes - 9/10: Crispy and flavorful, but they could have used more scallions and a larger portion of dipping sauce. Drinks: I ordered a lemon drop martini made with tequila, but it tasted like it was made with vodka. I asked if it could be replaced, but that request was declined. They brought me pineapple juice to try to make it more drinkable, but it didn't help, and the drink still remained on the bill. That was definitely a 0/10 experience. Our hibachi chef was fantastic. He was engaging, acknowledged my fiancé's birthday, and honestly made up for the lackluster service we received from our waiter. One thing diners should be aware of is that an 18% service charge is automatically added to the bill, but it isn't verbally mentioned. It's listed as a "service charge" on the receipt, so it's easy to overlook if you're not paying attention. I asked about it to confirm, then tipped our hibachi chef separately because he deserved it. The receipt also includes wording encouraging additional gratuity, which could easily lead guests to tip twice if they don't notice the automatic charge. Overall, the food quality and flavors were still good, and the hibachi chef made the experience enjoyable. However, the rushed service, disappointing portion sizes, drink issue, and lack of transparency about the automatic service charge kept this visit from living up to our previous experiences.
