Fried rice and a first time grandma excited to see!
    Belva L.

Went the day after Christmas after watching a movie at the theater for lunch with family of nine. The experience was very nice and the food was good. Forgot one portion of chicken and had to cook it at the last minute using a bowl to cover the chicken, which resulted in being steamed and tough. Lunch prices are much better than dinner prices. I had hibachi chicken and my husband had the hibachi chicken shrimp combo with no drinks ordered tax and tip came to $35

This is one of my top favorite restaurants in this area. Sushi is consistently delicious, I love the chill vibe of this place. Literally never disappointed

Delicious tepanyaki/hibachi. We all had it. Fabulous fried rice and perfect scallops. Shrimp were a bit over done. Vegetables were great but wish there were more. Even the kids like it.

Free wifi, good sushi, good chicken teriyaki. No gluten free soy sauce :( Sushi lunch special 4pc sashimi w/a California roll, soup and salad $8.50.

3-for-$10 sushi lunch special. This is shrimp tempura roll, tuna maki and spicy tuna.

I love sushi. In the 17 years I've lived in this area we've had only 4 restaurants that serve sushi and all of them opened within the last 5-6 years so until then I had to go to Easton or Columbus to get sushi and frankly the first 3 weren't all that. This newest one, Tokyo, is BY FAR the best. I've been 4 times now. Once to the hibachi grill which is fun for my kids but frankly has gotten old for me - not this place specifically but all of them. The last 3 times we've sat at the sushi bar at lunchtime (but there is also very nice table seating in this area away from the hibachi stuff). We've tried most of the rolls on the 3-for-$10 lunch deal and all were delicious. At lunch we've also been given miso soup, a green salad and 2 out of 3 times, a free salad from the sushi bar, usually crabstick and cucumber with sesame or that sort of thing. We've also tried a bento box (tempura) and that was delicious and filling - we usually have to take some of our lunch home because we can't finish it. At lunch everything in the restaurant is basically half price so that's when the deal is best, but honestly the sushi here deserves a dinner visit too. The service has been flawless each visit..we've been seated promptly, served quickly, and never had to so much as look up for a drink refill or check. Currently my favorite restaurant.

Tokyo offers both hibachi and table dining - we opted for table dining since we wanted to just eat sushi. We ordered an appetizer, rolls, and mochi ice cream for dessert. Everything was tasty. One little thing I noticed is that in one of our rolls the rice tasted as if it had been sitting in a fridge and not fresh. We dined early on a Monday night and service was good. Our food was brought out quickly and our server was friendly and very efficient. She made some good roll recommendations too. Overall I think we had a good experience at Tokyo and it's a good option for Japanese food in town.

    Excellent sushi selection

Other than some new decor (which in my opinion is tacky), and a few new items added to the menu, the other noticeable change appears to be the slow service coming from the kitchen and inconsistency of portion size. This past Friday we arrived at approximately 5:15, the restaurant was fairly busy with the bar nearly full and most tables occupied. The server was timely in taking our drink order while we reviewed the menu. We placed our order, 2 fish sandwiches and fries, then waited 40 MINUTES for our food to arrive. I'd like to say it was worth the wait, but the fish was cool and the few fries we received were cooler. The most disappointing part was that never once did we see a Manager or have one touching tables to check on guest, or apologize about wait times. All the guest adjacent to us were complaining about the wait. Our server was apologetic and understanding about our displeasure. Perhaps there is a good reason that there wasn't a Manager on duty, if there was one on duty, it's inexcusable that they weren't at all visible and engaged. As mentioned, since the temporary closure and reboot, the inconsistency in portion size and slow ticket times, along with the decor we've not seen much improvement.

With a party of 17, my husband and I arrived early to secure seating, only to be told we couldn't be seated until our assigned server arrived--despite the fact that she had quit and was still on the schedule. A woman who appeared to be a manager or assistant manager then told us to move from the bar area (where we were told to wait) to the waiting area in front of the restaurant. When I questioned why we couldn't be seated in the meantime, she became visibly irritated, raised her voice, and made the situation uncomfortable, emphasizing that "It is Easter" and she was giving her employees time with their families. With that and her display, we decided to leave, and as we did, she repeatedly said, "Have a nice day!" in a condescending tone. Fortunately, LongHorn Steakhouse in Heath, OH turned our day around. There was no issue with waiting for a table as we were seated at a booth. Everyone ordered the filet except for me who ordered the parmesan crusted chicken with half slab of ribs as a combo. Whether it's a mid-week dinner or a weekend hangout, they managed to nail the "elevated neighborhood gem" vibe perfectly. The Food The star of the show is undoubtedly the wood-fired pizza. You can taste the authenticity in the crust--perfectly charred with that signature smoky finish you can only get from a real wood oven. The toppings are fresh, and the balance of flavors shows they aren't just making pizza; they're perfecting it. On the lighter (but equally delicious) side, the fish tacos are a standout. It's rare to find a wood-fired joint that treats seafood with this much respect. The fish is always flaky and fresh, complemented by bright, crisp toppings that make for a perfect contrast to the rich, smoky pizzas. The Service What truly sets Elliot's apart, though, is the bar staff. The service here is consistently top-notch. The team is incredibly knowledgeable--whether you're looking for a specific craft beer pairing or a recommendation from their cocktail list, they know the menu inside and out. It's the kind of place where the staff makes you feel like a regular from your very first visit. Final Verdict: Excellent food, a great tap list, and a team that actually knows their stuff. Elliot's is easily a 5-star experience.
