This is a very Asian fusion restaurant, meaning everything was Americanized. I had panang curry sauce with build your own bowl. Veggies are half cooked toward raw, sauce was good but not as great as you can get from an authentic Thai restaurant; another one is spicy-taki. Not spicy at all. I added more chili powder to get spicier. The sauce became very watery because we ordered double veggies instead of carb. Overall, it was just an okay experience. read more

This is probably the nicest, cleanest, and freshest Tokyo Joe's I've ever been to. Their sushi was pretty good and had a lot of fish which is always a plus! I had a tartar Cali roll and it was good. The spicy tuna wasn't very spicy though. My husband's lettuce wraps though we're huge!!! The peanut sauce was a tad bland but still good. Well the sushi leaves a lot be desired! I had take the sushi roll that I bought back to them and tell them that it was unediable the fish smelled funny, had a funny color and it tasted even worse then it looked! I used to like it, but now the last two times I have hardly got any vegtables. I got a bold your own bowl last time and it was just a sprinkle of veggies pretty sure that's not 5 oz or whatever it is. Decided to try the shrimp signature bowl with noodles today and did not like the taste at all. Normally I get brown rice so that could be why. .. I know it's not the sauce I like the greenI'm cry sauce. This bowl as well though was all loaded with noodles hardly any veggies at all. I swore before at other locations veggies were packed on top maybe almost equal proportion of rice to veggies. Maybe next time I'll specify to make sure there is loads of veggies in there. I've been coming to this location for several years now. Decent food, decent prices, just like any other Tokyo Joes out there. The reason I didn't give full five stars is because there were no clean tables today. Like, everything had dirty dishes on it besides the tables in the middle of the restaurant, so like, three tables. It was really gross to see because it was obvious some of that had been left around for awhile. Our food was good though and came out relatively quick. My only other complaint was that my partner was charged a tip even though he selected no tip. Not exactly cool because he didn't want to but. It is what it is. read more

I ordered a large combo bowl of steak and chicken, when my order arrived my steak was mostly pink, I could not eat it. Steak should be served rare or med-rare ONLY if requested. I did not dig the vibe of this location and would recommend another Tokyo Joes if possible. For $12 at least cook the meat! read more

Clean and good looking place. Employees were all pleasant. Prices are not bad, especially not if you come for the 2 for 1 Sushi Mondays. Decent drink selection with 4+ kinds of ice tea (I'm a big fan) Sushi isn't high end, but then you aren't paying $20/roll either. For the price I was pleased. Try the Crab Cheese Wonton roll. Definately the best I had there and worth much more than they charged. We'll be returning for sure. read more

If Asian means it has rice with the meal, then Tokyo Joe's is Asian. It is; however, not good Asian. I will go out of my way to order healthy food and sometimes will make choices for less flavor to support a healthy option, but this trade was not a fair one. I could have boiled some chicken and vegetables and poured over some grocery store sauce and it would have been better and certainly cheaper. I gave them two versus one star because it was clean and the people were friendly, but the food was just bad. read more

Out of all the Tokyo Joe's I have visited this is by far the best one! Each time I come here the service is great and the portions are well worth the price. A few months back, an employee was extremely accommodating to my friend and I dining in and catching up. He repeatedly came out to check in on how we were doing, gave us great recommendations on cookies and sushi, and made us feel incredibly welcome there. The other Tokyo Joe I have been to in south Aurora near the AMC theater had quiet a wait and the staff was not nearly as personable. I staff was rushing to get orders done and having some issues. Thankfully at this establishment they quickly engage the customers and have the food at promptly; a few times I receive my heartily big bowl as I take my seat. I appreciate the awesome service, the portions, and the atmosphere here and always recommend it to my friends. The fact it have fresh and healthier options makes it even better! This is the only place in the area I go to eat!! So awesome! Great gluten free vegetarian pescatarian and vegan options. What's even better, is the team that runs that place. Lauren and Will have gone above and beyond my expectations For such a casual dining restaurant, I have received outstanding customer service; what you'd expect at a 5 star formal dining. Will the cook is super efficient, gets your meal cooked quick but still with great care, taste of perfection and the presentation to go with it. Lauren is very patient, and has excellent recommendations, she helps me make the best tasting bowls and takes into consideration my allergies, and even remembered them from my first visit!
