I just wanted a Philadelphia hand roll with salmon, rice and seaweed. The waitress claimed she is one of the owners and very reluctant to take request. When I pointed put she asked the owner on my last visit on a different item and owner approved it, she changed her story saying they have only a few hand rolls. It is so sad that this is considered quality food because it's not. Chicken was obviously cooked in the deep fryer. Beef was super chewy and a bit gamey. I was super hungry and smothered my food in Sambal (the hot sauce ). The rolls are covered in sauce for a reason. They have no flavor without it. One roll even had some cabbage or lettuce in it -gross stringy and chewy are not the textures I want in my sushi. Supermarket sushi is better than this. We only ate half of food, at least we weren't hungry anymore....took a few hours for us to feel normal again. So many better options in Tulare. Thank goodness I never have to eat here again. I placed an order after viewing the menu online. The pricing on the online menu was cheaper than the actual pricing in the restaurant. Therefore I was surprised when the employee rang up my order because it was definitely more expensive than I anticipated. I want to add that when I questioned it, the employee was very rushed in telling me it was under new ownership and that's why the menu was more expensive.I suggested they update it and the employee was very rude and definitely not at all personable. I got the Spicy tempura shrimp roll and it was bland, no flavor at all. Worst overpriced sushi I have ever had with rude service and inaccurate pricing on top of it. Best shrimp fried rice in the valley! Best seafood pho as well! This place doesn't disappoint.

First time we went was 20 minutes before they closed okay cool. A few months later (today 8/22/2016) we went again a few people in a few empty seats so we sat ourselves. 2 minutes later we got menus. And then never was helped others got drink order and food order but they never came back to us. We were there for at least 10 minutes and nothing so we got up and left. Thought I would try a little Japanese strip mall action, food that is... okay, yes strip mall but really pretty good. I went with the deluxe Bento box. I was impressed at how much teriyaki chicken was in the plate, probably an entire breast. The California roll was made well and tasted good, the rice was perfect and the potstickers were good too. The salad had a little too much dressing, but it was pretty good. The iced tea was fresh and not bitter. The waitress did not seem to want to talk or had a little language barrier, which is okay. We were definitely surprised to find this gem in Tulare. Excelkent sushi & very good teriyaki. We were most impressed with the pad thai from their limited Thai menu. The atmosphere is laid back and mellow, offering a respite from the sameness of the shopping center of its location. Friendly service made for a relaxing and tasty meal. read more

This place always has good teriyaki bowls and the bomb tempura shrimp, they added Thai dishes the fried rice is great and the Pho is very good to. The pad Thai is good to. Thanks for adding these dishes now I don't have to go to visalia for my Thái fix. read more

This place is a delicious healthy option for eating out. I wouldn't recommend the sushi (I wouldn't recommend sushi from anywhere in Tulare) but everything else is fresh and flavorful. I had the Tokyo plate. It's a ton of food so I definitely could have shared. The chicken is white meat breast, the beef is tender and the tempura shrimp is crispy! The teriyaki sauce is awesome. My wife had the fresh chicken rolls that were also fresh and the peanut sauce that comes with it is exceptional. The staff is very friendly and the food comes out pretty quick. I've been going here for several years for the California roll. I usually get it to-go. Never had any problems. I have gone there twice now to dine-in and the waitress is not friendly at all. The first time there was three of us. Took a while for her to come and take our order. Took half an hour to get two of our rolls and the third person had to wait another 15 minutes and ended up getting it to go because our lunch hour was almost over. The second time it was just two of us. She took our drink order and 10 minutes later took our food order. Our cucumber salad came and half an hour later our roll came. Same waitress as always. Not friendly. Other people got their orders before us. No apologies. The place was less than half full both times. So, for to-go orders (California Roll) it's ok, but dine-in expect to wait a long, long time and don't expect friendly service. read more

The food is good, one of my moms favorite spots to go but not somewhere I'm familiar with. I went in to order and out of curiosity I asked the lady if they sold their food in individual containers as opposed to ordering combos. She looked at me like annoyed and said the bowls? Okay fine, I ordered a few bowls and some sides. As I'm standing to pay her cellphone goes off and she answers it while she's ringing me up. A little unprofessional if you ask me but it doesn't make a difference with the food. The wait for the food was decent, didn't take too long. As she handing me the food I tell her thanks no response. I go here almost once a week. I love their food and their selection is amazing. I never get tired of their food because I never get the same thing when I go in, because everything you get there is so delicious. You never have to wait very long for your food either. The staff is wonderful and they remember me when I go in there. It's a very quiet place to eat, so if you're looking for a place to converse, this is the place for that. The Pad Thai here is the absolute best. The place is never very busy when we go, and take out is very popular. Never disappointed.

Came in on a Wednesday around 5pm and it was pretty slow, service was fast. However I ordered the combination pad Thai and it was okay. I took my family to Toyko Palace ... My wife and I ordered the Teriyaki Beef dinner. .. Daughter ordered the Rainbow Sushi .... Our teriyaki beef was really hard and dried out, the California Rolls were tasteless and the rice really gummy. My Daughters Rainbow Sushi was paper thin, and tasteless. ... the Tuna, Salmon and Ell all tasted the same and was old .... Tasted moldy, rice also gummy ... So so disappointed. This place use to be so great to enjoy fresh Sushi and rice .. The combination dinners were great .... No longer, we will never go back, such a shame .... Profit before good food .... Being that it is a Japanese Restaurant, Sushi is Meh... but I'm here to leave a review on the Pad Thai. I tried the Chicken Pad Thai and obviously they don't have the authentic touch of Thai, but I thought it would at least be okay. It wasn't. It had a very strong fish taste and scent (I ordered chicken pad Thai) my guess, whoever cooked the meal put in excess Fish sauce making my Pad Thai very strong in fish sauce flavor. If you want Pad Thai leave it to the Thai's, the best one I've tried is South of Oval Park in Visalia (Thai Place I believe it's called) Booomb... Although my first choice would be Thai Basil on Noble on Lunch time you get a much bigger plate here. Pad Thai comes with white rice and a Fried Spring Roll. Now if you don't want to drive to Visalia ,The Pho 99 noodle house's Pad Thai on K st in Tulare was just in between the 2 good Thai places in Visalia that I just mentioned and the Japanese version of Pad Thai from this place. I was going to leave 2 stars but I'll do 3 Just cause it's a Japanese restaurant and their Sushi is Meh. read more
