We ate here a month ago and I was convinced it was the best teriyaki I'd ever had. We came back today to "double check", and yep, it's the best I've ever had. Today we had a regular chicken teriyaki, a spicy chicken teriyaki, and the broccoli beef. The chicken teriyaki is great, but the spicy chicken teriyaki is on another level. It's hot enough to let you know it's hot, but it isn't so hot that you're leaving in tears. The broccoli beef was delicious too- cooked perfectly. Everything is cooked to order, served piping hot, and tastes FRESH. The gal that takes your order is very respectful and polite. The dining room was spotless, and tables were cleared as soon as they emptied. Having spent nearly 50 years in the Americanized teriyaki capital of the US, I've had my fair share of teriyaki, and this is the best spot hands down. You will not be disappointed. read more

Really really awesome food. I ordered the Bento Box, which was amazing. Heck, even the Miso was so totally yummy! The staff was very attentive, yet very respectful. We first started with some truly amazing Miso Soup. The flavors were so rich and deep -- not like a bland afterthought like many others I've experienced in other teriyaki restaurants. But what I actually ordered was the Bento Box with teriyaki chicken chicken. The Bento was amazing, with the highlight being the amazing Tempura, which was the perfect texture and Chef's Kiss delish. The chicken was sa durned tender, which is how I love it!! But, I want to talk about their ice tea -- I don't know what they do to it, but it was fantastic, with a Jazminey flavor. First time ordering a group order from here for 5 people. We used door dash and there were no issues. The meals were packaged and labeled by name. This was helpful. In long Even though my old favorite spot has, thankfully, re-surfaced with a new name and location, I'm still trying all the other yaki joints that opened in the 15 years I was completely fixated on my local. I'm getting down to the last half-dozen places with big reps in the south county, and I've been stoked to try Tokyo. I didn't think when I ordered that I was making some poor soul drive 11 miles to bring me lunch. Anybody around here (but especially a food delivery person) knows I could have picked 50 closer places. But I'm a food geek. Trying all the good examples of a dish in your area will eventually make weird stuff like 11-mile teriyaki orders happen. Heh. Kenji loves to say that the best teriyaki is the one closest to you, because there's so much good stuff around here. He's certainly right in a way, but he's also systematically trying all the good places he can find and posting impressions on his Insta, so I'm gonna copy that Schrodinger's teriyaki dilemma into my own thinking: Love & support your local, and also keep trying all the other good ones. Anyway, this was good. I got the simple straightforward spicy chicken. They give you the iceberg mix with it but nothing else extra. The rice is on the side, kinda, in the smaller parts of the styrofoam clamshell. Spicy is truly warmed up, if nowhere near flamethrower status. You get a rich savory red-pepper sauce that's fairly liquid. Keeps that sugar and carb count down for those of us who have to think about such things--dig it. Iceberg mix never changes, and chicken can either be right on the money or messed up. This was on the money. Thigh meat chopped into actually bite-sized bites, cooked completely but still juicy. Sauce is the big variable from place to place if you order a simple item like spicy chicken, and theirs is very good. I did dose up the heat with sauce from my own cupboard, but I do that with literally anything that tastes good with hot sauce on it. I ordered through Yelp and the lady who helped me when I picked up told me to save $ next time and call instead! I told her I would when (if) I'm in Everett again. It's in downtown Everett so it's street parking only, head in, but there seemed to be spots open so it wasn't too hectic to find one. Their food comes with perhaps a little too much packaging. All four of us ordered chicken teriyaki. The chicken and rice comes alone with a small amount of sauce. They give you as many containers of soy or teriyaki sauce as you want in the little plastic containers with their own tops. The salad comes in another container, too, so I walked out with two heavy ass bags to take back with me to Providence. I was the only one that got chicken breast, but it was really tasty, just needed one more sauce which is atypical of me. I don't like salad, but my mom said it was finger licking good and wished they gave her more of it - lol. The other two in our party didn't say anything, but they were pretty bummed by the reason we were there so I don't think there was anything amiss about the food. Love love love that my family found this gem while in town! We've tried a couple teriyaki places because of hearing it's BIG here in the Seattle area. We'll, we weren't disappointed. We came here on Tuesday evening around 7:30. The sweet woman at the counter was extraordinarily nice and helped us pick from the menu. You order up at the counter and take it to a table. Our dinner consisted of chicken teriyaki (surprised?), chicken yakisoba and a chicken and shrimp combo. Everything was amazing! The place has plenty of seating for a little storefront. It's super clean, neat and very comfortable. The condiments sitting on the table were all very clean, not sticky! Eighties music was playing (I was happy - my kids were cringing lol) and the lighting was not too bright, not too dark. All in all it was very comfortable. We sat there laughing after we'd finished and wasn't pressured to leave. The woman came over a couple times to see if we needed anything else. She was very conscientious. Thank you Tokyo Teriyaki, we'll come back to visit next time we're in town. And we'll suggest you to anyone who's going to be close to Everett! See you soon .... read more

We live in a land where great teriyaki is not hard to find. I have lots of places id give 5 stars. Everything I've tried here so far has been delicious. Good char on the meat, flavorful, veggies fresh and crisp, big portions. They package the to go orders with care. Friendly fast. You can find flaws anywhere you go so if we're getting picky the interior is dated (it's downtown Everett it's common at most restaurants) and I prefer other places salad dressing ‍ neither is a reason to not return. Recently I walked in and it was packed - no where to sit and I had a meeting coming up I had to be at. So I left and searched for another spot nearby so I could make my meeting. What a GEM!!!! a great visit for sure! Stopped in around 730 pm restaurant was empty! It was a little deciving as far as maybe it's not a good place to eat. They have a very diverse menu ranging from Terriyaki, Combination, Yakisoba, Wok, and of course Tokyo. These are the catagories they have their meals split up into with at least 5 options in each one. Definitely plenty to choose from. Seating inside is seat yourself, a walk up to the counter and order type, however they do bring your food to your table. The seating is some what limited with about 10 tables ranging from 4 to 6 pre set tables and no outdoor seating. **Now the good part the food!!!!! I ordered the chicken Katsu which includes white rice steamed perfectly, a salad with a house sauce which was definitely a great flavor! DIpping sauce and about 15 slices for fried chicken. The outside of the chicken was just the right amount of crunchy with tender chicken on the inside. They do not have a fountain drink machine. However they have a wide variety of bottles drinks to choose from. ****If you want a Asian cuisine with options I definitely recommend visiting!!! read more

Our families apathy towards choosing dinner usually means one of us settles. So when the family wanted teriyaki, we were excited. Of course I consulted my fellow yelpers, since all the Teriyaki I've had in WA has always left me longing for home. I noticed the great reviews, delicious looking food, and prime location. Disclaimer: Every one knows the majority of yaki dining is a casual experience, so I'm not going to scale down for the standard kitschy atmosphere. They're focused on the food and I'm ok with it. Bottom line, portions are yuuuge, the rice was perfectly sticky and the chicken had a subtle char texture and great flavor. This will be my go-to yaki stop on my way home. Came here for dinner in the middle of the week and was surprised to find the place empty. Began to think twice whether this was a good choice but decided to stay. Ordered Beef Yakisoba, Chicken Katsu, & Gyoza. All arrived at our table fairy quickly and looked so good. Even better, they all tasted greater than they looked. Food was really good and the cashier lady was very nice and helpful. Restaurant is clean and quiet. It's should be a more popular place to eat at. Quite tricky to find because it blends in w the buildings around it but so happy I found it! I got the spicy chicken and a cucumber salad. The chicken did have a spicy kick to it enough to satisfy and the cucumber salad is a bit vinegary and sweet, not sure what it's made of but it's a good break to eat in between the spice. This is just a hair on the pricey side. But, at lunchtime, fast enough to be worth it for take out. Also, the portion sizes are large. I got a chicken & gyoza combo to go the first time I ate here. When I got home and started munching, I realized that I needed more sauce, as it was slightly dry for me. So load up before exiting the premises. More recently, I ate in with the fam. I was in the area and was craving teriyaki. Luckily that had tofu teriyaki as an option. Ordered take out, no salad, extra crispy tofu. Took about 15 minutes. Got home and realized they TEMPURA-ED the tofu to make it extra crispy. It was DELICIOUS, the grease they used was a tad old. But still super tasty.
