I was so happy with our with experience today. Not only were we having a belated birthday celebration for my daughter but it was also our first time at this location. Everyone was wonderful but especially William our server. He was so nice and attentive! I had brought in a cake for my daughter and he took care of that right away . The chef was great , the food was tasty. I was happy with my experience here and so was our party ! I would definitely come back here based off the experience, wonderful service and great food. Thank you William!

We were craving so went to Arcadia location since Pasadeba closed. Husband had steak and jumbo shrimp. Steak very tender but shrimp did not look jumbo! I ordered Dynamute roll it was very filling! Poor girl at our grill cried everyone we had a big fire!!! Our server been serving for this company 24 years!!!

We came for mothers day and had reservations. There was a short wait and we were seated and promptly introduced to the culture of the restaurant. Service was great and chef was entertaining. Food was delicious and timed perfectly to be able to enjoy it nice and hot. The sauces were delicious and I really enjoyed having a family experience of dining and entertainment. Staff all around were positive, helpful and welcoming.

I think this place is overrated. Food was okay, way too pricey. Service was alright, but the cooking part which is like a show was great.

Everyone loves Teppan, but let's be honest... most places can be a bit bland. This spot is the exception. The flavor surprisingly surpassed my expectations, they use quality ingredients that do not lack on flavor. The service was good, we wanted for nothing. The vibe is your standard Teppan atmosphere, but the food sets it apart. If you want a Teppan experience that actually tastes as good as it looks, don't hesitate. You won't be disappointed!

Food is always yummy!!! But honestly the service was not. I Sat at the bar the bartender had his back towards me the majority of the time and on his phone. My family usually sit in the dining room but me being by myself I thought I would sit at the bar. I should have sat in the dining room.

So disappointed. We've been here for over a decade. The portion of food shrunk and the price went up. I always ordered same items. It was lunch combo. Plate from 2019 and 2026.

Tokyo Wako Arcadia is one of those places that feels welcoming the moment you walk in. The warm, beautiful wood interior sets a relaxed vibe, and the staff matches it with genuinely friendly service, the kind where they seem happy you're there. The menu has tons of options: rolls, noodles, hibachi-style dishes, and plenty of plates to share. The sushi really stood out for me, super fresh, clean flavors, and prepared simply (in a good way). And if you're in the mood for a little dinner-and-a-show, the teppanyaki is fun to watch and still tastes great. Prices feel reasonable for the quality, and it's an easy spot to bring friends or family since everyone can find something they like. Overall, a comfortable, tasty, down-to-earth place I'd happily come back to.

I had best lunch ever today at Tokyo Wako, the service and the food was fantastic.. we enjoyed so much the fresh Sashimi and delicious Teppanyaki.

I've been displaced after the Eaton Fire in a nearby hotel. We have celebrated specials occasions with about 12 people each time at Tokyo Wako in Arcadia. As I walked by last night, walking my dogs, there was this sign. "No Homos". I called last night, called 3 times today, either they didn't believe me or didn't care. I told him to walk outside, it's right there! Guessing you don't like my kind in your restaurant. There are only about 100 Asian restaurants in Arcadia. I'll choose one, and tell my friends to chose a welcoming place. Shame on you!

It's pretty OK as far as hibachi dining experience goes The Chinese staff and chef were fine; the show was all right, no tricks, no wow factor -- if it's what you're looking for, maybe go watch a youtube video Lol. I ordered the "Sa Ban" set (salmon, shrimp, scallops), the salmon being the best-tasting of the three. The fried rice I thought was too salty and oily. I would have added 1 more star had they not cheaped out on A/C -- It was very warm and uncomfortable inside. Mango slushy came to the rescue, just barely.

I had dinner at this restaurant with a co-worker. The atmosphere appeals to the American sense of the image of everything Japanese including the little bridge over the koi pond at the entrance. The interior is divided into two sections, one for teppanyaki and the other a bar/dining area which includes a sushi counter. We sat in a booth in the dining area. I ordered a glass of wine. Japan is not known for their wine and none were listed on their menu so a glass of Gato Negro cabernet sauvignon from Chile was my choice. It was dry and smooth with a hint of spice. For my meal I chose the chicken panko which came with miso soup, salad, and rice. The miso soup was good but different from what I'm used to with mushrooms instead of tofu. The salad was fresh with a delicious dressing and the chicken panko was excellent. The chicken breast, beneath the lightly crunchy exterior, was very tender and the katsu sauce had great flavor to dip the pre-sliced chicken pieces. Service was superb and we were checked on by both our waitress and the manager (owner?) as we ate. Although I can't officially review the sushi since I didn't eat any, my co-worker ecstatically said it was fantastic. I really enjoyed everything about my meal here.

I have been coming here for years and the food has always been good. Late on a review, but here I am writing one finally :) they have majority of the time greats cooks, but not all of the them have good personality. They don't really communicate of perhaps have an attitude like our cook who name I failed to ask! Also, our server was not good or attentive! She never came back and brung my steam rice super late. For my order I ordered the lunch chicken teriyaki combo! Which was very tasty and made very moist to my liking. Everything was good and fresh! Overall, I recommend this spot it's a lil out dated but the food is good and have great lunch specials. Easy and lots of parking in the lot!

Another year, another birthday dinner at Benihana, which is pretty much the only time I come here…read more This year I actually got two BD deals. First was through their traditional (phased-out) Chef's Table Loyalty program--$30 off after an initial $30 spend (weekday dinner only, not including alcohol). Second was through their new Friends with Benefits Loyalty program--$50 off (no specifics on dinner or alcohol). Benihana is now part of The One Group that includes other restaurants like STK and Kona Grill where you can also earn points/rewards. I've seen the Benihana teppanyaki "show", and once is enough. It's best enjoyed with a group large enough to fill up an entire table, otherwise you are grouped with others. And the wait for a chef can be long depending on how many are working at that time and the number of tables occupied. Benihana food is mediocre at best, far from authentic, and quite pricey for what you get--without the BD offer, there is no value, although they do have some specials and a Happy Hour menu. For the past few years, we've avoided the teppanyaki tables and go to the sushi bar/lounge, which has bar seating and high and low-top tables. Here's where you can do Happy Hour, Lounge menu, or the regular menu without the show and less of a wait. I noticed in the interim between my 2 visits, the menu prices increased! The Happy Hour menu is not included with the BD offer, so I usually order sushi/sashimi. This year I tried a few noodle dishes. Although there is a sushi bar, I don't think it has traditional seating nor a dedicated sushi chef. Frankly, when I've ordered sushi/sashimi in the past, it was pretty much like supermarket sushi, often haphazardly cut, as if a butter knife was used. I ordered the Spicy Crispy Rice app both visits--6 pieces of crispy rice topped with tuna, yellowtail and salmon and jalapeno slices. The fish are indistinguishable from each other, the black pepper soy sauce cloying, and some of the rice crisped to burnt. I did two noodle dishes--shrimp yakisoba and seafood diablo (scallops, calamari and shrimp with udon in a spicy sauce). Both came with onion soup, salad, steamed rice and sauteed veggies (zucchini and onions). The shrimp yakisoba was decent, although the shrimp were smallish and probably frozen. I asked for less spice on the seafood diablo, but it still packed a punch. The shrimp were the same, the scallops were quartered but tasted like scallops. The calamari, however, were large hacked-up pieces with a texture like a faux seafood item a vegan would order (texturized vegetable protein). There were no tentacle pieces. There were a lot of yellow bell peppers plus some mushrooms and frozen corn. I do like the Benihana Lemonades, available in 4 flavours, refills included. Overall a slightly better and less depressing experience compared to years past. A HUGE shout out to my server for both visits, Alaast, who is actually one of Benihana's supervisors. She was also the hostess my second time, and the bartender and lounge server both times, and seemingly a back waiter at the teppanyaki tables as needed. Service in the lounge in the past has ranged from meh to non-existent, so Alaast is a great asset. I may try Happy Hour here one day, although it's hard to beat the HH at Cheesecake Factory next door.

The service was great and the food was really good and the portions are huge. All of the servers and chefs pay attention to small details and made sure to provide us with refills and great service. Once pretty big issue I had was how hot it was inside the restaurant at all times. The thermostat inside said 84 and it really felt even hotter. Although I understand we went during the peak of summer heat and there is constant cooking with fire going on, the temperature inside the restaurant is almost unbearable. We were sweating the whole time.

I realize prices are up everywhere, but charging extra for a standard garnish that should come with the drink is absurd. If I wanted a martini without olives, I would have just ordered gin on the rocks. It's like getting a single malt scotch with a coke on the side--most places don't charge extra for a splash of soda, nor would they itemize the soda if you ordered a scotch and coke. To top it off, the server never mentioned the added fee..

Yesterday I tried to order and it was closed so I went with my usual 323 Hibachi on Wheels (go see my review). Even though I ordered two plates yesterday - you don't become Elite unless you exhibit "big back" eating tendencies lol - I was still craving more hibachi, especially steak. So here I go again trying to order from this place and they weren't taking orders. Persistence paid off and they finally opened up the delivery option. I got the steak and shrimp plate. The steak was tenderly cooked and not chewy. The shrimp were perfectly cooked and they were not rubbery. The veggies came with a nice assortment of zucchini, onions, bell peppers and mushrooms; however, they could have used a little more salt/pepper and/or butter (I think they may have been sautéed in oil). The rice was perfection and this girl loves her fried rice. Note that they put scallions on top of the rice/meat portion as well as on the shrimp in case you have an allergy (I don't recall seeing that mentioned when I was ordering). As for the sauces, my go to is the "pink sauce". They offer a spicy version (the Joker) and a non-spicy version. The spicy version is too spicy for me but it was doable and the other one was too bland. I was disappointed with their version of "pink sauce" but their garlic butter and ginger sauce (which I never use) made up for the disappointment. Definitely go with the garlic butter and ginger sauce. I dip all of my hibachi in sauce and don't conform to what sauce goes with what - I conform to what my tastebuds like. While this was a very nice portion for the price, ya girl ate nearly everything and I had already eaten about an hour prior lol. Zero control when it comes to yummy food. This is definitely a place to get your hibachi on and gets a yummy in your tummy rating. One recommendation for the restaurant: For deliveries, I suggest stapling a receipt or something to that effect so the recipient can tell if the delivery person accessed the food/opened the bag and potentially tampered with the food. In this day and age, one can't be too safe.
