First visit here on a not so busy weekday for a company dinner, we started off near the bar waiting for the rest of our party before requesting a table- boys had a deal they had on drinks that included a beer and a tequila shot. Service is prompt and the salsa is flavorful and has a good amount of spicy heat to eat! The shredded tacos there are to die for and their breakfast specials are huge!!! Big bowl of menudo and a plate of scrambled eggs with chili Colorado on top is sooo good! Had dinner a few days ago ordered sopes and they where disappointing , tried to eat one out of 3 it was not worth paying for ... so we let waitress know she apologize and ask if I wanted soup lol why would I want soup ??? We where still charged full price for the sopas which is fine my friend ordered extra burritos so I jus ate from his plate ... and another thing That bothered us they had someone vacuuming during our dinner time which should not be ok people go out to eat dinner to enjoy a good time , I hate complaining but this bugged me , an apology is not worth going back there .. nevertheless our waitress was trying to be nice , but she should have offered more then soup or not charge us for those nasty sopes . read more

Holy shit! I just experienced a really great dinner. My usual go to restaurant here in Fresno is close so I stop by Toledo's. It was around 9 pm and it was a late dinner. I ordered the beef soup and mixed ceviche. The soup had a great flavor and so did the ceviche. The best part of the meal was the fresh salsa and chips. I went through three bowls of their salsa! Toledo's , in Clovis has great Mexican food . Their mole enchiladas are incredible and their home made salsa the best I have tried ! Their sopes are delicious actually everything there is delicious. The only complaint I have is their Margarita to go was so small it was in a small salsa container. Couldn't believe it maybe 3oz of margarita. Other then that the food is great . Beware of this place! A worker from this place stole money from my wallet while I was in the bathroom. This used to be my favorite place, until I realized how shady they are! Spoke to the manager and the person that was supposed to watch my bag and they had conflicting stories from when I first spoke to them then to the next time. I recently had my 21st birthday dinner at Toledos and we had excellent service the entire night! Our waitress was great and was always attentive.. For my first drink I asked for the bartender Luis (I specifically came to Toledos because I've heard so many great things about his drinks). He made me a strawberry margarita, which was delicious along with the dinner. My family also brought in gansitos (mexican desserts) instead of cake and they presented them very nicley with thier fried icecream free of charge! Be sure to order drinks from Luis! I had the huevos rancheros which was very good :). Wife ordered broiled chicken salad which is served over lettuce. The lettuce was a mix of good crisp fresh lettuce and old limp brownish lettuce. It was obvious good lettuce is being mixed with bad lettuce. Not a good practice. Wife chose to skip a meal :(. Server was very nice and understanding. We came here for dinner. We had fast prompt service. Good happy hour on the draft beer. However I was disappointed with the quality of the food it was not that great for the price. I think they are way over priced and not to mention we ordered 2 carbonated water (didn't come in a bottle) tasted like tap and we were charged $6 for that. I've been on a long distance kind of relationship with Toledo's for awhile but now maturing I am not as quick in discrediting it's merits. The one on Shaw in Clovis I have had both good and bad but never terrible experiences and it's never due to the service I have to add. I like that this one is in a great area and is open a smidge later. We went tonight per my girlfriend's request for Mexican food which is rare and were greeted and seated upon entering. The lighting was fair, the decorations and placements of items wasn't over the top and the lack of other customers present was also pretty nice. I thought the customer service was superb if not excellent. They also let us be alone but we're still good at checking in to see if everything was to our satisfaction. The food came out timely and was delicious to my standards. Portion wise Toledo's has always been spot on and never lacking although some would argue the sides could use some work as far as taste. Today they did forget to give me guacamole which was apart of my meal but once mentioned it was brought with haste. Price was moderate if not cheap imo.
