We tried Toll Station Pizza Saturday night while in McCall for our anniversary. The cheesy bread sticks weren't bad. Just regular garlic sticks with a layer of cheese on top. My husband loved his chicken popper pizza even though he said the honey was a little strange on it. The pepperoni was mehh. I didn't care for the kind of sauce they use. Other than that it was ok. We ordered a large BBQ Chicken pizza. It was delicious! The side of ranch was homemade and delicious as well. The server was a young man and was very friendly and attentive. We ate outside which I feel was a good call. It was very pretty and the temp was perfect. Inside may have been too warm for me. We would go back in a heart beat. read more

Great location and patio. Food and service unacceptable! We were in McCall getting some last minute supplies for camping and decided to treat ourself with lunch. The patio seemed perfect from the road. When entering we asked if we could be seated out side on the patio? The woman/ owner was extremely rude. Yelling at us to wait. Telling us they are extremely busy and she needs to count people on the patio. I can totally relate, working retail and following standards at this Covid 19 time. I understand limits on seating. We waited and had no problem with that. The rudeness and temper at us was awkward and unnecessary. 2 others were looking at the menu and got the same attitude. We were seated outside and just put off the rudeness from what seemed to be the manager. We even got a good laugh out of it and moved on. The server came over about 10min later and explained only 2 people were working and apologized for the wait. We ordered a small pizza, salad and burger. After 45 minutes, I did ask our server if she could check on our food? It seemed everyone around us had their food and many of them were seated and ordered after us? She returned immediately with our order. We thanked her and told her we understood they were short handed. Our drinks needed refilled. No acknowledgment or questioning if we needed anything else? She had laid the food down and was gone in a flash. The quality was low, pizza cold and my husbands burger was undercooked /raw. We decided to stop eating and just pay the bill. Restrooms and seating area very dirty. Understaffed and food quality poor and cold. At that point we were worried about getting sick. I felt bad for the 2 servers working so hard. Absolutely our favorite meal of our trip! Loved the 1/2 and 1/2 pizza option so my husband and I could split a small pizza. I got the sweet and spicy vegetarian(and asked for no mozzarella and kept the feta to cut down on the dairy for me) and husband got the chicken popper pizza. It was AMAZING! For lunch today I had the Mexican Fiesta pizza which was true to its name! It was a true fiesta in my mouth!! The crust was delightfully crispy and it was loaded high with tons of toppings. This is probably the best pizza place in McCall, so it's relative, LOL. It can get busy around the obvious times of the day, so expect a wait. They have a nice outside area with a beautiful view of the Payette Lake. In fact, if you spend the day on the main beach, you can easily walk here for lunch or dinner. Our server was Ivey who was on point and patient with our large group. We moved locations a few times, but she accommodated our move with a smile. They have various beers, including some local brews ($15/pitcher). The local brews were just 'okay' nothing worth mentioning. We really liked the McCall pizza which was a loaded pizza, it had fresh topping and was tasty. They have plenty of kid options; pasta, pizza, spaghetti, etc. I also suggest getting the salad bar, it's not out of this world with the options, but for $4.25 extra it's a fair deal. Toll Station Pizza was a staple of my childhood. Now it's larger, brighter, has a bigger menu, and serves apps. They might have served apps when we were kids, but our parents never communicated that, probably because they wanted all the apps to themselves. The pizzas are good. The sauce on the pizzas is thick, which gives the pizza a very wholesome and home-style flavor. The sandwiches look great, and they also had a selection of salads and pastas. I think the food is very good; there is a large selection of everything, from beers and wines to salads and appetizers. My one unhappy moment was the price. I thought the pizzas were a tad too expensive. Worth it? If you're a 32-year-old trying to show your fiancee where you grew up, then yes. If you are a tourist who read this review and now wants to share that same experience with your own loved ones, then yes. Anyone else, it all depends on the other pizza places in town. We were looking for a place open late, we had too much lake fun and forgot to get lunch dinner :) so we ordered a pizza over the phone the staff was really friendly when we got there to pick it up we saw we still had time before they closed and the had a lovely outdoor patio that we could sit on with our baby, so we ended up grabbing and eating our pizza there. We watched deer cross the road, nice atmosphere and the pizza was delicious, takeout pizza is disappointing lots of times but their's we super fresh with the perfect crust/topping ratio. Convenient location near the lake in Downtown McCall. We sat outside on the patio, and had excellent service. I had the TBLT (turkey, bacon, lettuce, and tomato) with fries, and it was delicious. Service was great, some really nice people. I wouldn't eat there again for any other reason. The food was strangely bad, it had no flavor, and seemed cheap. I ordered a 10" "Mountaineer" which is basically a four meat pizza: pepperoni, sausage, beef, and bacon. I'm not expecting much, its pizza right? I mean cheese, meat, sauce, and crust are what make a pizza... Not one of them was good. The sauce: the thing that makes a pizza in my mind, was flavorless and almost nonexistent to begin with, how do you screw up sauce? You call tomato sauce with nothing in it, "sauce". The crust: your delivery device, the one part that has to have texture... Once again falls flat. It was soggy in the middle, crunchy (in a bad way) along the edges. Just... Bad. The cheese: the stuff that glues it all together, well in the case of this pizza, its like an infant dumped a gallon of library paste on their sparkly picture... It might have tasted better that way. And finally... The meat: this is not an essential "piece of the pie", but if you're going to put it on a pizza... At least try to make it taste like meat. The meat had no flavor, and the strangest texture in the world... Any flavor it did have tasted freezer burnt... Yummy right? Mozzarella Sticks were tasty, and add I said the service was great... Drove the Payette Scenic Byway and ended up in McCall. We found this spot while walking around enjoying the beautiful scenery. We each had the Prime Rib Sandwich which was tender and delicious. Let me start by saying that most of the staff is Very friendly. However, tonight I went in to pick up my phone order. When I was getting ready to pay for it, the owner came out and rudely told me that I needed to pay for it over the phone Next time. I explained to him that I was told I didn't have to. I asked who took my order and he pointed to a girl I had never seen before. She Told me I did not have to pay Until I got in the restaurant. She never asked me to pay however, I had told her that I was a VIP.(locals discount) And that is when she said, I could pay when I arrived. He told me I was lying. When I assured him I was not. I asked who took . I looked directly at her and told her that she needed to tell the truth. He then proceeded to tell me that I argued with her on the phone, physically, grabbed my arm and called me a liar again told me if I was a local that I would know I had to pay . I said of course if it's over a certain amount he said yes $25 the order with the convenience fee for takeout was $26.03 . I told him to keep his pizza. He screamed at me. This is why we make our people pay. I assured him that I had showed up to pay for my pizza. He was the reason why I didn't. Very good pizza; especially like the thin, crispy crust. Great salad bar -- in fact, the salad bar is the main reason we go there, but we always get a pizza as well. Service is a problem all over McCall -- it's a resort town that gets a flood of visitors a couple of times a year, and businesses have to hire anyone with feet and hands to help out during what amounts to just a couple of months. There's no way to find and train good people in a market like this. That being said, the service I've had here has been better than The Mill, Evening Rise, and My Father's Place (all of which have great food, but struggle with staffing). Visited yesterday for lunch. Hostess who sat us apparently really loved her job***She was not happy to be sitting us and had no personality. She just grabbed menus and walked off. Never said "follow me"... we sat outside. They really need to wash patio off each night. I looked down and there was bits of old food on the bricks. Disgusting! Our order was messed up and waitress never made any effort to correct it. We were so hungry from traveling that we just said never mind we'll eat it. She never said sorry. Never offered a solution. Visited 4/1/2022. A nice young man was our server - his smile never left his face. Hubby had the McCall pizza (huge amount of meat), I had the GF Chicken Caesar with Artichoke (lots of toppings, crust was crisp, not soggy). Both pizzas were great! Had the house salad - fresh - you may need to ask for another side of dressing. We will be back for the food AND the smiles! P.S., we're from CA, and we will be back! read more
